Nice room, clean, modern and lots of space. Staff were super friendly, hotel was very clean and spacious. Great location, really enjoyed my stay here.
Only small things, and apart from these, it was lovely. The kettle didn't have a plug socket nearby, so I had to move it across the room and drag a table over to put the kettle on so it reached the wall plug. Only one pillow on the bed, but not a big issue for me. The shower screen doors sort of overlapped, but left a large gap at the bottom. Didn't affect the use, but may turn into an issue if someone makes a mess with the water. But overall, not major issues, and would highly recommend staying here.

Almost the last hotel right by the sea in Southsea, so definitely recommended. I wasn’t sure if the sea view would be worth it, so I only booked a room facing the park. When we arrived, we were given an upgrade to a room with a sea view. Wow, what a view. You can sit by the window for hours watching the ships go by. There’s always something happening — from small sailboats to large cruise ships. A supermarket is just around the corner, and the breakfast at the nearby restaurant is worth every penny. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Parking prices on the Street and in the complete area are high. You pay 13 to 15 Pounds per Day from 8 a.m to 6 p.m. so you are okay if you are there for just a night. The Hotel should get Parking Permits for there Guests.

The location was ideal for being close to both the seafront and the local shopping centre and restaurants. The views across the park and to the Solent and the Isle of Wight were amazing. The King Room had all the facilities and comforts one needed for a very enjoyable and pleasant stay.
There was no lift to the uppers floors which meant a lot of stairs to negotiate in both directions, seventy five in all. Breakfast was not available at the hotel, so one had to walk to a local restaurant the Farm Kitchen link to the hotel having purchased vouchers requiring payment at the reception. Finding a car parking space was a lottery, as you had to search for one up to five minutes walk from the hotel and make a payment each day at the machines between 8.00am until 6.00pm.

The hotel is in a fab location for the local bars and restaurants. Check in was smooth. There is plenty of parking via Ringo which is reasonably priced. The room was bright and clean with a good shower. We had a nice view of the park and limited sea view. The road is not too busy and the area was quiet at night. A decent sized room definitely good value for money. All the reception staff were friendly and helpful.
There are quite a few stairs and no lift so if you have mobility problems this hotel is not for you. The room was warm however 2 fans were supplied and the windows could be opened and the radiator adjusted.

When I left home at 16 and travelled to Portsmouth that guest house was my new home.I'm now 60 the owners of Q8 have done some amazing renovation work. Much love and respect to them
Parking will always be an issue as its a busy as it's a hub for travel to to Isle of Wight. The park and ride facility is spot and also the bus to the hovercraft

Great location, definitely recommend the rooms with a view. The location is great for the d-day museum and local restaurants, bars and coffee shops. The navy museum isn't too far either, about a 7 min taxi ride. The street in front of the hotel can be a bit loud if you leave the windows open.
The water pressure wasn't great, and some of the furniture was visibly used and dirty.

Seth!! What a genuinely nice staff member. He gave us the warmest of welcomes when we arrived and asked us polite questions regarding our stay. After learning it was for my 30th birthday and the fact my partner was moving away for work, he upgraded us to the suite out of the kindness of his heart. On top of this generous act, he also multitasked such as taking phone calls, reservations and helping other hotel guests whilst dealing with us at the same time. I believe Seth as an individual played a key role in the enjoyment of our stay as we had never expected the generosity. Seth is a fantastic asset this hotel and the hotel manager such be proud. The hotel room itself was lovely, comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was lovely and the stay itself was incredible. I know for a fact, one of the hotel rooms (7) was having the time of their lives #PoorReceptionist #TimeOfTheirLives P.s. typing this out from the hotel itself as we already came back!
There wasn't a bath. We did know that when booking so it wasn't a big deal. It is very difficult to fault this hotel as we know for a fact, we will be back! P.s Seth wasnt on this time round :(

The room was clean and comfortable and suited what we needed , the staff were friendly and helpful ! The location is perfect for a walk on the shoreline or going into the city for a meal and drink !
My partner has a bad back so walking long distances is an issue so not having allocated parking was a slight issue , this said that's not the hotels fault and they don't advertise parking it's just a comment to think about for people who may have disabilities !! The hotel made sure we had a ground floor room to negate having to use the stairs which was helpful !

Location is brilliant. Right on Southsea, common and coast for walking, sights, museums, etc, then Palmerston Road right next door for lovely shops, pubs, restaurants. Room was clean and very comfortable, had everything I needed. Was very quiet in the room too, didn't hear any of the other guests. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom a bit tight but completely fine, shower was great. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Love the taxi button, if you need to travel early very easy to get a taxi.
