The location is perfect! If you like to shop, the hotel is in the shopping center. Thus, it is also close to the places we wanted to visit.

The AC could be fixed (it needs to be replaced). According to someone also in the elevator, it wasn't working when she was there in May. We did know it would not be working before we came, but since we are from the desert we thought a fan would be adequate. And for the most part it was. Also during the stay the elevator wouldn't come down from the third floor, so all customers had to walk down from the third floor to the second to get the elevator.

Location is excellent. 5 mins from Portsmouth Harbour station, bus interchange and Wightlink ferry terminal. Plus all the shops restaurants and bars of Gunwharf Quays are literally on the doorstep. . Having breakfast included with the hotel stay is another big bonus.

Air con not working at hottest time of the year. Hotel did supply free cans of cold water and ice cream, though, as compensation. The pillows on the bed were like rocks, so it was difficult to sleep comfortably. However, this was our 3rd stay at this hotel and would happily return again as the pros far outweigh any cons.

We came as a group of 6 ladies travelling for a Hen Do. We had booked 3 twin rooms but when we arrived we were told that the hotel was fully booked so only one of our rooms was a twin. The other 2 doubles had a sofa bed included. When we got to our rooms we saw that the sofa bed was actually another double. They were so comfortable we were really impressed. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities were included which was a nice touch. Hotel was in a fantastic place, right on Gunwharf opposite the Casino, very near to waterfront and the shops, bars and restaurants. An ideal place for sightseeing. We will be back.

This is a solid, no frills hotel at a great location (right next to the shopping centre with its restaurants and cinema, very close to the train station and at a walking distance to the ferries and even to the beach). Breakfast is not very varied but decent (and included in the price). The beds are on the smaller side so if you need more space you should consider this. What makes all the difference is the staff - everyone is extremely helpful and kind and reacts immediately if there are any issues. Would definitely recommend!

Breakfast was a bit basic and not everything was replenished when they ran out of products - but you can always find something there

The location was perfect – right in the heart of Gunwharf Quays, which made it super convenient to get around. Parking was also great value, with the first night free and the second just £2, which was a lovely surprise.

Unfortunately, the bathroom wasn’t as clean as expected. There was a strong smell of urine that lingered overnight, suggesting it may not have been properly disinfected. The shower curtain looked quite old and discoloured, and when the mirror steamed up after my shower, a drawing appeared that clearly hadn’t been wiped off – which indicated the area hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned.

Free wifi, Comfortable Beds, Fan was provided, Perfect location for Shopping (Outlets for most brands), Harbor Rides, proximity to Historic Dockyard on one side while on other side it is nearby to D-Day Memorial and Parks. Only 15 mins Bus ride to City Center or SouthSea pebble beach. Remember there are two bus providers in Portsmouth Stagecoach and FirstBus. Staff was very helpful to provide IHG Shopping card for us to get some Discounts at Outlets, and kept our luggage both on check-in day as we were early and on check-out day as we had late train back to London.

Although we were initially concerned when we were made aware that the air conditioning might not be working, I want to say how much we appreciated the efforts you made to ensure we were comfortable. The rooms were lovely, the location perfect, and the added touches — including the local discounts, late check-out, and refreshments — made a real difference. Your team handled the situation with professionalism and warmth, and we truly enjoyed our time with you. Special shout-out to your cleaning crew, the breakfast team and Guest Services member Maria (I hope I got the name right!) for being efficient, and kind — such a wonderful staff. We were happy with how everything was resolved. Thank you again, and we hope to stay with you again in the future.

We had a minor issue with the towels not being provided in one of the two rooms. But we were able to resolve it ourselves.

Location excellent Breakfast very good. It might be advantageous to keep the dining room open until 10am Room bright, clean, well decorated, bed comfortable, good linen and towels

We couldn’t get bbc1+2 on the tv, the kettle didn’t work and the sofa bed/sofa was tired and uncomfortable….really let an otherwise lovely room down However, housekeeping sorted the kettle out immediately with a complimentary pint, and offered for us to change our room because of the tv, which we declined as we were able to watch tv on our devices via the internet, so we were very happy with the help we received

The hotel is in a perfect location and, as a hotel guest, there are discounts to be had in the surrounding restaurants and bars. The hotel is clean and comfortable, excellent value for money and the staff member on reception on our arrival was excellent; helpful and very welcoming.

I wanted to ask one of the two men on reception a question about the car park when I was leaving. The first man palmed me off to the second man who told me he was in the middle of some admin and I'd have to wait. Unbelievable! This poor customer service marred what had been a great stay.

Location was in Gunwharf which was excellent. Parking was free for 24 hours and then only a couple of pounds per night after that which for the area was fantastic as the parking is very safe and secure. The hotel itself included breakfast which was great. The staff we encountered during check in and check out were fantastic. Especially the check in staff who were very knowledgable and informative. The whole place was very clean and fresh. We had just stayed at another holiday inn in London which wasn't quite the same standard so we were pleasantly surprised. Free wifi too. Although we had trouble connecting to it. We had good phone signal so we didn't approach the reception team about this. I'm sure it would have been sorted if we had.

There were 5 plastic fingernails in the room that had been overlooked. This was sorted while we were out and we were given 2 free drinks vouchers for the issue. However when we went to get a couple of bottles of water from the bar they didn't have any water at all. Which we found quite strange for a hotel so didn't get to use the free drink vouchers. Also on a very personal note, the only plant based option for food was a sausage. We had stayed at other hotels before this one and they had a selection for each breakfast item. Again this is a very personal issue and wouldn't affect most people. Apart from that the stay was perfect
