Jordaan the Manager has ony been in the hotel 11 months, but the work she has done is visible. After being very run down by previous managers, she has brought everything up to a good standard. The staff are efficient and friendly , and have time to chat. The room service ws efficient, and dining facilities excellent. The food was well prepared and a good price. The bar is always busy and friendly.
I would have liked some drawers to put clothes in, but I understand ths is on the list for more renovations in 2025.

Travelling with my sister , it was a random pick to stay at the Queens Head based on availability and price. You do have to be mobile as there are quite a few flights of stairs and it is above a pub. If you aren't tolerant of noise on the weekend then you would likely complain. 😁. Dog friendly which is a plus as we got to spend breakfast with a lovely girl named Crumble!!
There were no issues. I could see the parking lot could fill up but really nothing to complain about. Your right in the middle of town walk everywhere minutes from lovely hikes.

Really convenient with the Co-op just opposite and river just a few minutes away for dog walks. Lovely that the hotel/pub is dog friendly throughout. Staff were really friendly, efficient and helpful. Room was comfortable, clean and a good size. We loved the heated mirror (didn't steam up) which had a lighted frame which a touch screen on/off "button", very cool! TV was great as we happened to have a memory stick with stuff we wanted to watch on it and there was a USB port. Altogether, The Queen's Head had everything we needed and was a pleasure to stay at.
WiFi was a bit of a faff to log into the first time but once registered, it was good.

Our 2nd stay here. Big room. Comfy bed. Good shower. Husband loved his full English breakfast. Well done, chef. Friendly staff.
Our room was at the front of the hotel, room 1. One of the sash windows has dropped leaving a gap which allows street noise in. Other than that all was well.

It was very dog friendly. I was a bit stressed as we were travelling for the first time with our new puppy but we were made very welcome. We also arrived late on our first night and they kindly waited for us even after reception was closed. The room itself was spacious, comfortable and full of character and charm. We had a very nice young lady Yulia, serving us at breakfast and she also provided excellent service and made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely stay!

Beautiful room. Comfortable bed. Lovely bar and restaurant area. Lovely breakfast.
There is a sign saying reception, yet when you look into the room it's basically where the glasses are cleaned and there was nobody in there. Might be easier if check in was just at the bar. Other than that I couldn't fault the place, and will definitely stay again.

The food and the room were terrific. A really nice pub in beautiful Rothbury. Lovely staff.
I was very confused about the payment as originally I booked at Genius rate at £78 .00. I received a notification 3 days before my payment was going through. But when I got to the hotel it was about £125 and apparently Ibhad not paid. This was a shock as I had to budget carefully for a 5 day trip with accommodation and meals. I paid but now feel very nervous about booking if prices are going to change without any warning or permission. This is a Booking.com mistake...not the Queen's Arms.

The Manager was away and Jaime had been left in charge. She is an asset to this hotel. She did all that she could to make our stay comfortable. The room was good and clean. The en-suite toilet seat was cracked. Jaime replaced it. There was no marmalade for our first breakfast or gluten free bread for my wife (she is coeliac). Jaime sorted that out for next breakfast. An evening dinner was enjoyable and first rate in a good dining room
The room and en-suite looked as if redecorated recently and the ensuite, very spacious, seemed new (see above re toilet seat). However there was nowhere to put anything - toilet bags. razors, and so on - except the floor. I understand that this will be rectified. Whilst not very important I feel that the absence of a phone in the room is to its detriment. My wife and I have mobiles but I do know that some folks don't. If you can't climb stairs don't go. There is no lift.
