We had a lovely stay for two nights which didn’t disappoint us , lovely hotel , comfortable bed the staff were brilliant nothing was a bother to them they were very attentive ..the breakfast was fabulous our room was great spacious loved everything about this hotel The Turks Head , we will be back for another stay highly recommend this hotel x

Don’t think there was anything we didn’t like about staying there , every thing was perfect for our stay really enjoyed it .Going to book up again lovely place .

Even though there was a big party of people eating in the restaurant, the staff served our evening meal very quickly in the bar. The bar was busy but the bar staff were honestly the most efficient and friendly I have ever encountered. I generally don't do reviews but I feel that The Turks Head staff warrant a really good one! We had a dog with us and the whole place was dog friendly. There is a massive beer garden out the back. Its' very convenient for a vist to Cragside House which we really enjoyed.

There was a lot of signage relating to not letting dogs on seats "even if it's on your coat" but we had our dog on a coat and nobody told us off. There was another couple doing the same. Nobody said anything to them either.

Room was spacious and well decorated and very comfortable- great location and friendly welcome. Rothbury is a great town and area to visit.

Room was a bit noisy at night as over the bar which got busy and noisy with jukebox box playing though the music stopped about 10.30/11pm. Breakfast was very good one morning and not very good another and slow that day - perhaps there was an issue as it was very good the next day. More cereal/fruit choices would b good.

Room was airy and tastefully decorated and an amazing added bonus was having a room with a separate sitting room- brilliant! We ate in the evening and the food was delicious - husband had a burger which was beautiful presented and he thoroughly enjoyed it and the onion rings and chips. I had mince beef and dumplings with chips and seasonal vegetables- I can honestly say I have never enjoyed a tastier meal in my many years of eating in numerous establishments.....delicious! We then enjoyed a drink and a game of cribbage in the bar area and found the atmosphere to.be warm and friendly. Breakfast didn't disappoint.....kept us going all day which we needed as we dpent the day at Cragside!Wish we didn't live 300 miles away....would love this to.be our 'local' but we hope to return next year....thank you to everyone at the Turks Head

Nothing we disliked

Very enjoyable tasty breakfast attentive staff, the room we had our breakfast was decorated lovely it really matched the period of the building.The hotel was decorated very well I should imagine its not easy with older property. We would stay again we wanted a base to visit Craggside and we were not dissapointed

We were intending to eat at the hotel however they were extra busy so we went to the hotel about 100yds away which was awful. However that was not the turks head fault when we go again to Rothbury we will have to book a table before we get there, the food did look great

Fabulous location right in the centre of rothbury close to many attractions the room was exceptional lovely comfy bed and separate lounge area, we had our evening meal here food was lovely piping hot and lots of it also breakfast was excellent full English and toast but the best part was the staff especially ladies serving really friendly but definitely recommend

Nothing we loved our stay

Fantastic value for money. We did a 7 night walking trip around Northumberland and this place was by far the best for what you got for price. We booked a triple room as that was what was left. It turned out to be a decent size double bedroom plus a large lounge with a sofa bed in it. So essentially a suite. The food at the pub is also very good and nicely cooked, as was the breakfast.

Location was spot on, right in the middle of the town. We were travelling on bicycles, staff were able to provide us with secure storage. Room was great - clean, comfortable, with large bathroom. Great breakfast, with nice views from the dining room. We has asked for twin beds for me and my friend, but it was a double bed when we arrived, much to the amusement of our other friends. Helpful staff were able to convert to twin beds, no problem!

Everything really great staff who are very polite and helpful couldn’t fault the apartment either it was spotless and had an extremely comfy bed,,also loved the beer garden out the back where it gets the sun all day long , also to mention the breakfast was lovely , would definately stay here again

Love this pub, the locals and staff are extremely friendly.

The only thing that would have helped would be a guide on how to use the heater in the room, as it was cold when we first went in the room. The batteries for the TV remote were flat too, which was no big deal, but just so you know for the next guests. Other than that the room is beautiful, and has everything you could possibly need.
