Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was good, minor issues with only bringing us one menu and forgetting items off the breakfast, but they were sorted promptly. Room was clean, the odd cobweb and small areas of dust over the top of mirrors and door but overall the Inn was clean and tidy. We had dinner and breakfast here, food was really good. The room was small, but had everything we needed for a nights stay, although we didn't have a good sleep due to the mattress being uncomfortable and room too hot. Location is great, easy access to lots of walks and places to visit.

We didn't sleep very well, the bed was uncomfortable for us and it was too warm. We had the windows open and a fan but it was far too hot. We were in the top loft room. The bed was uncomfortable, this may be personal preference though as I know others have had a comfy stay there, just wasn't right for us unfortunately. I would say that it is a little overpriced for the facilities, food and stay. The website states 5 star establishment but we felt it was definitely more a 4 star. Struggled to cut our lamb with a normal dinner knife, we were almost finished when somebody came over to ask if everything was ok. Otherwise, we could have asked for a steak knife.

Lovely vibe, the staff were genuinely very happy to be working there and helping customers any way they could. Lovely simple and modern decor, immaculate throughout, yet retaining a country pub feel. Couldn't wish for a better pub or b&b. We were two vegetarians, booking late, asking for a table at the last minute and late for breakfast, but none of this was any trouble, and we were made to feel very welcome, had lots of meal choice and had a perfect stay.

Would have liked to have stayed there longer! 😉

Generous & tasty breakfasts. Clean, comfortable, well appointed premises Atmospheric Grade Listed Inn, moderately busy for half the week though noise insulated from b&b area. Worthy of its AA 4* rating. Easy parking (on fast road shortly to become subject to 20mph limit). Uncongested uncrowded roads despite peak holiday period. Several Historic Houses & Gardens, Castles, many historic churches, holy wells, and walks within easy distance by car. (Denbighshire, Flintshire, Wrexham, Conwy) Located on the edge of gently rhythmic range of Clwydian Hills, at east side of Vale of Clwyd. Obliging, interested, responsive proprietor & staff.

Fantastic room. Perfect size for our family of four. Was great that it had a large bathroom with a shower and a bath. The hot water was not particularly hot for the bath but good temperature for the kids. Evening meal and food both lovely

The Griffin in is gem, so welcoming on arrival and check in was easy and quick. Room was cosy with everything we needed, very clean and really comfortable. We had a great nights sleep! Pub and dining room were lovely, food was beautiful and atmosphere was relaxed.staff were friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious too! Good value for money

Good location for the wedding we were attending at the vale. Easy access after hours. Rooms lovely and clean. Bed comfortable. Good facilities in the room. Appreciated the fan and the tins of water on the hottest day of the year. Excellent breakfast with great choice. All staff we met were friendly and helpful.

Location was a little quiet with not much around the area. Breakfast was really nice. Evening meals were very good. The room and the hotel were tastefully furnished.

Our bed linen had a couple of stains on them,otherwise we had no complaints.

The room we were given was amazing , large and beautifully decorated Building is very historic and pretty on outside but new on inside Food and service were great Thanks Loyce !!

Bed was a little low and mattress soft for us but everyone is different so it’s hard to meet everyone’s needs and preferences

Location was further out of Ruthin than I expected but we were able to get taxi easily and the staff at the Griffin Inn were really helpful. The breakfast was excellent. Only a small room but sufficient for one night couldn’t justify spending any more for the night away.

Lovely location (we were walking Offa's Dyke). Very friendly staff from arrival to departure. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable with plenty of fluffy towels and nice toiletries! Delicious food, excellent breakfast and good price. Big thanks to David for the lift in the morning.
