The hosts were very friendly. When we arrived they were closed but Brian opened the door with a big smile and said ‘is there anybody who wants a bear’. And we could check in. They also prepaired a very good meal just for the two of us and the breakfast was super. In the evening we had a nice chat with a local guest and the hosts, very entertaining. We highly recommend the Golden Lion Inn.

Brian and Sue couldn't do enough for us. Evening meal was lovely and the breakfast was amazing. Really comfortable bed/pillows and we could have had a party in the bathroom. It was so peaceful and tranquil in the beer garden with fantastic views. Highly recommend if you want to get away from it all for a night!

We stayed just for one night and as soon as we got there we ordered dinner. I appreciated that the food was homemade and delicious. The room was so comfortable and clean, the staff was very friendly and next day, the breakfast was fantastic. 100% recommend.

Lovely little country pub out of the way Brian and sue were great hosts couldn’t do enough for us,we will defo be staying here again !! Food & beers were spot on

Tucked away in the middle of no where but so tranquil and an absolute pleasure to stay there, the hosts can’t do enough to make sure you have everything you need

The property is beautiful with so much history all throughout. We loved the old charm, the views and that it has stayed historic.
