This is a really lovely hotel, a very characterful building with a lovely view over the Dee Estuary, and the staff all have a personal and hospitable approach. You feel they all enjoy working there and are very kindly managed which contributes to the calm and pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are all very warm and comfortable and it's a real pleasure to drink a cup of tea in bed in the morning watching the sun coming up over Wales. All the teas and coffees in the room are organic and fair trade which is part of the thoughtful way in which the hotel is run. There are two real fires, including one in the breakfast/ dining area, and the breakfasts and evening meals are very nice. One dish on the menu contributes to a local charity. This is the third time I ve stayed with family at the Jug and Bottle and we become more fond of it with each visit!

Nothing!

The property is well decorated and has welcoming feel. The staff were amazing and check in was a breeze. We stayed 3 nights and ate in the hotel restaurant the 1st night. The food was absolutely amazing so we booked the restaurant again for our last night. The cooked breakfast in the morning was also just a special, eggs how you like them and nothing was too much trouble. The location was great for what we needed. Nice and quiet weekend and used the bus to travel into Liverpool when we needed to. Bus stop is 10 minute walk away. We are definitely planning to return to this hotel.

Not alot at all. We enjoyed every bit of our break away.

This was my second stay in 18 months. I was staying for business & the property was easy to locate & park for free. The room/ensuite was comfortable & spacious. The shower & bedroom were spotlessly clean. The pillows were medium/firm & the mattress very comfortable. Good Wi-Fi signal-essential for work planning! I ate pan fried chicken on the evening which was delicious. At breakfast, there was a great choice. Due to me needing to leave for work I only had porridge, toast, juice & tea but they were lovely. It was very cold weather & the heating wasn't on full. However, there was an electric heater in the room which I used. All the staff were friendly & approachable. I will definitely stay here again!

Lovely setting, seconds from village (now town) centre. View across The Dee. Very well thought out and comfortable- just a delight! Loved the open fire and the various cozy nooks! Very comfortable bedroom.

We loved almost everything about our stay! Room, food, VERY hard working and helpful staff and the whole enchanting atmosphere of the Jug! Our only disappointment was that our dog had to sleep in the car on a very cold night! We loved our stay (despite for a sad occasion) we truly enjoyed our return to my hometown!

Staff were all excellent. Friendly and attentive. Breakfasts were hot and delicious and the scrambled eggs were cooked just how I like them. Great location though with plenty of amenities nearby.

I think the food is slightly overpriced for what is effectively a very nice pub. My main course at dinner was a big disappointment but the dessert was delicious. Heating in the room was set too low. Also the only alternative to walking through the crowded bar with our cases and clothes was walking up a fire escape at either end of the building. Not ideal when it's raining and the car is parked some distance away.

Lovely place and in a great location for us, just 30 mins from IoM ferry port in Liverpool. Booked a small double room with breakfast. The ensuite shower room was quite tight! TV and tea/coffee facilities in room, with a small bottle of water each which was good. Rooms are above the pub/restaurant, which is how you access the rooms (there is external access for after hours). Pub had some great beers/ales and Restaurant served great meals including a lovely full breakfast in the morning.

There is no aircon, and room got a little hot at night. There was a fan in the wardrobe I think, and the window could be safely opened so no big deal really. Rooms are above the pub/restaurant so could be a little noisy if you like to go to bed early! Bathroom was adequate for us but definitely on the small side with the sink being quite tiny and shower cubicle quite tight.

The showers were amazing! The staff were super friendly. The pub was cosy. The room was clean. The location was close to nice beach walks. Food was delicious and breakfast was served at convenient times as I was up early for work. Lots of parking. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

The music from the pub could be heard through the floors. If you're going to bed before 11 I would recommend bringing earplugs.

A fine set of public rooms with excellent food served and a good choice of well-kept beer. The setting, within an extensive area of garden and trees, is wonderful.

The room (number 3) was lovely but quite noisy with music in the afternoon and then in the evening until late. This appears due to the way the extensive bar speaker system is embedded in the ceiling, meaning that the level of bass noise/vibration coming through into the bedroom (or some bedrooms) is actually higher than downstairs. This might need attention

Clean and well presented, the young lady that booked me in and served my breakfast, a definite asset to your business, pleasant, polite and helpful.

No electric razor point in bathroom/room. Barman in afternoon, about as welcoming as a fart in a lift. Breakfast a huge disappointment, one of the reasons I booked was the reviews on breakfast, 1 very small rasher of bacon, very small hash brown, hard tomato, and flat mushroom both of which only tasted of the oil they were cooked in. Coffee weak and tasteless.

Had breakfast and a table for 12 friends for a special occasion (group party for lots of us with 60th birthdays this year). Food was top drawer, very tasty.A good sized menu with lots of choice so everyone found something to enjoy. Staff were all amazing, nothing too much trouble. Special mentions to Laura, Sharon and Heather who fussed around making sure everything was right. It was. Breakfast ladies just as nice and hospitable, and Manager Andy who oversaw everything. Rooms are immaculate, bed was really comfy. Really cant fault any of it

Fresh milk for a cuppa in the room, although I'm 100% sure if I'd have asked for it, I'd have got a jug of milk. :-)
