The woodcote is a lovely little place to stay. Can’t fault the staff, super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We had a room by the garden which was convenient as we were there for a wedding. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable too. There was no iron in the room but there was no issue with obtaining one and an ironing board from reception. The food in the hotel is lovely we ate dinner there on the first night then We had breakfast before we left which was definitely a huge strong point. Loads of choice and really good food and portions. It’s a little annoying that if you book through booking.com you don’t get free breakfast but if you book directly you do. So we only ate there once for breakfast but we enjoyed it.

There were cobwebs in our room complete with spiders, not a huge issue but also maybe something that could be addressed prior to guests arriving. There were a couple so I would say they’ve been missed by housekeeping. Rooms were quite noisy, you can hear the people above bouncing around quite early in the morning which woke us up but again not a dealbreaker.

The room ,the staff and the food were exceptional. The room was very very clean ,roomy and well decorated and everything worked as it should. The staff on reception and in the restaurant at dinner and at breakfast were extremely helpful and friendly. The food quality at dinner and at breakfast were fantastic. This was the last hotel of 10 that we had stayed in before heading for home. This was after a trip to the North and of Scotland and I can say with hand on heart that this was the best hotel that we stayed in . If we ever go to the Liverpool area again we will definitely stay here.

The room was spotless, tea & coffee were also available in the room. The mattress wasn't the best, one could feel the springs ,however, I can sleep on a clothes line so I managed to get a reasonable nights sleep. The breakfast choice is exceptional & even the continental breakfast was excellent. Everything was very fresh. The room was lovely & warm which was very pleasing as the weather was cold.

There was nothing I didn't like. Staff very friendly & helpful. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Very comfortable hotel & I have stayed in many. This I would rate in my top ten.

We booked three rooms. The double rooms were excellent, very comfortable beds, spacious bathrooms with super shower. The twin room was not so comfortable with a continuous sound of running water and a damp wall. All reported to reception so hopefully will be sorted before the next guests. Breakfast was great.

Be aware that if you book through booking.com that your breakfast is not included. If I use this property again I will book direct for this reason.

The family room (no.4) was very spacious, airy and very cool in hot weather! Beds were so comfortable and very high quality soft linens. Exceptionally clean and the room was well set up with lamps and plenty of power sockets. The breakfast menu was extensive with a fantastic selection of fresh fruits and pastries in the continental option in addition to cooked breakfast. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Lovely beer garden.

Only improvement would be to include decaf coffee in the room facilities along with regular tea and coffee, and they had run out of all jam at breakfast (but did have just about everything else you could want!)

A lovely hotel in quiet, lovely surroundings. Easy to find. We were pleasantly surprised by the room, it was more than adequate and very clean. The bathroom was spacious, with a great shower. Toiletries also provided.. bonus! All we needed for a 1 night stay. on site restaurant had fabulous food. We didn't have breakfast, but if our evening meal was anything to go off, sure the breakfast was lovely.

The beds! Everything was fantastic.. staff, cleanliness, facilities... but, sorry woodcote, the beds and pillows were awful 😒

As a basic hotel the Woodcote is among the better ones. Don't expect all the trimmings of a four star plus but if all you want is a bed, a warm welcome on arrival and a place to use as a base for exploring the Wirral, Liverpool and Chester then the hotel ticks all the boxes.

The bed was on the too soft side for me but having said that it was comfortable. And the shower cubicle was on the tight side for a fatty like me. But these wouldn't [ut me off staying again.

The staff were / are absolutely brilliant. Special mentions for Abbie and Naomi in the bar / restaurant and for Barb (Barbara) at breakfast time. A really lovely experience ☺️ on a two night stay this week

Nothing, at all, to complain about. My room wasn't huge but for a single it was well appointed with a good bathroom. I suppose the power shower could have had a little more water flow but I was right at the top of the building in Room 6 and it did the job.

Staff were brilliant, room large, clean and comfortable. We were slightly above the function room but couldn’t hear anything from there. Garden facilities really nice, just gets busy if there’s a function on so seating not always available outside. We loved our stay and would definitely return

Parking facilities only for guests would be useful but not a deal breaker

Staff greeted us with warm and friendly greetings and explanations of our stay. Upgraded us to meet our needs and helped us with additional items we needed to have. Explained restaurant and activities well and indicated who and where to find any additional information if needed

The room was large and spacious, but the bed was very close to the wardrobe with one section unable to access because of the bedside table The shower took ages to get to temperature and the power was not great
