I recently stayed at Mere Brook House and had a wonderful experience. I booked a twin room, which was spacious, super comfy, and had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower was excellent—powerful and refreshing. On arrival, I was warmly greeted by the manager, who took the time to show me around and make me feel at home. The whole place has a lovely, old-school B&B charm with thoughtful touches throughout. It’s clear that care and pride go into running this place. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay in a characterful setting with friendly service, Mere Brook House is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

It was very comfortable, help yourself breakfast, was everything you needed to start your day.

shower needs to be upgraded. 2nd night had a birthday party. even though it stopped around 11.30 a lot of noise with banging of bedroom doors and people talking loudly, cars outside. 6.30 am work van outside collecting things from night before. Maybe if we were told at time of booking we may have found another place. even though first night was perfect. and loved the place and surroundings lack of sleep wasn't great as we had an early start that morning.

The room was clean, tidy and spacious with a roomy bathroom. The grounds of the house were very well kept and there was plenty of off road parking. It was a short taxi ride in to Thornton Hough for the recommended restaurants and although I only went to the Red Fox it was a great recommendation.

The room I was in did not have a shower, although there was a bath with a shower attachment there was no screens or anywhere to place the shower head. I prefer pillows that are a little flatter than the ones in the room but that is just my personal preference.

Mere Brook house is a fine Victorian house, centrally located on the Wirral, in a lovely peaceful location, yet close to Chester and the M53. We had a spacious and elegantly furnished room with an extremely comfortable king bed. There are views of the garden and adjacent farm from our room (Dragonfly), and you can see Wirral rugby club, from the window of the ensuite. We enjoyed sitting in the oak panelled lounge, and continental breakfast in the conservatory. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was very enjoyable

I hadn't planned to stay at the Mere Brook House, but after a crazy eventful day in Liverpool I decided to book a room at very short notice. I was welcomed by Lawrence on arrival who was very nice. I had a great night's sleep and feeling refreshed the following morning. Just before I left I had a wonderful chat with Lawrence's mom Jeanette, she's such a beautiful soul. I look forward to going back with my wife for a planned stay, especially to see Jeanette xx.

What an absolute find this place was. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Beautiful house, set in idyllic, quiet gardens - and all the staff were just lovely. The room (Dragonfly) was fabulous. Really comfortable bed, good quality bathroom accessories, etc. We really loved the ‘help yourself’ breakfast set up and plentiful tea and coffees. We can’t wait to return x

Nothing - we can’t recommend enough!

Lovely and warm. Oodles of very hot water. Extremely thick thirsty towels and nice cotton dressing gowns provided. Warm luxury bedding. Traditional downstairs lounge areas with wooden panelling and large Chesterton furniture. Light and airy breakfast room. Breakfast was plentiful and good. Staff were very helpful and friendly and suggested where to eat in the evenings. We were also offered trays of tea to take in the lounge every day of our stay.

Could do with a light at the end of the driveway to help find in the dark. The property decor and contents do need some modernisation in the rooms. The shower seemed to whine at us and the loo seat needed re-fixing.

Beautiful room in lovely grounds, ideal for the dog to walk around. Very helpful staff and the breakfast room with light breakfast and drinks is a nice touch. I would highly recommend staying here and hope to return again!

A poop bin would be handy so we didn't have to take bags with us to dispose of! Other than that there's absolutely nothing not to like!

It's a beautiful house in a superb setting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is most enjoyable. It was a very relaxing break. Our rooms were lovely and clean with all that we needed. I would be happy to recommend it to others. Thank you so much for our lovely stay. We will return.
