Newly refurbished comfortable room. Tasty food well cooked and good choice on the menu. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent wifi.

Was under the impression that a cooked breakfast was included. However it was a basic continental breakfast (no cold meats or cheese). I would rate breakfast as an adequate continental one. One has to understand however that the hotel is not open every day of the week, and in a lightly populated rural district, the economics of 7 day morning and evening hot food are probably not viable out of full holiday seasons.

I stayed overnight in a Double Room, which was extremely welcoming and modern. The staff were very helpful, and the room had clearly been refurbished recently. The only issue was that the pub wasn't doing food, and there is nowhere else to eat in Cynwyd, so I had to get in the car to get an evening meal. I can understand that issues like this arise, but I ought to have been made aware. The website still has a full menu listed, which is misleading. There ought to be a note on there until the issue is resolved. Having said that, the continental breakfast supplied was very nice, and I didn't really need a cooked breakfast. Everything I could need for breakfast was there, and again nicely presented. If the kitchen had been open, this place could have been close to perfect.

Lack of cooked food

Had the superior apartment for 3 nights over New Year - 4 of us in the apartment, 2 stayed in the B&B. Excellent house as a base, warm and comfortable with the pub right over the road. Purpose of visit was to chill out, eat, drink and be merry, all of which were achieved! The food in the pub is excellent - fresh and reasonably priced. The staff and the locals were all really friendly and we had a great time in the bar with everyone. Enjoyed it that much we have already booked again for next year!

No spatula so had to do scrambled rather than fried eggs in the morning - although I'm pretty sure that if I had asked they would have got me one! Fantastic place!

The Blue Lion is in a lovely village location & the rooms were clean & comfortable with everything you need. The continental breakfast offered a variety with ample tea, coffee & my favourite hot chocolate. We really enjoyed the food in the evening especially the fish & chips. The staff were very friendly & polite & nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this place to stay.

The pillows were very uncomfortable & could do with being renewed but this was the only dislike of the whole stay.

The room was modern and spacious. There was an iron, ironing board, fan and hairdryer, which could have proved useful. Shampoo, body wash and conditioner were provided. There was also bottled water and hot drinks available. The continental breakfast included cereals, bread/toast, teacakes, scotch pancakes and yoghurts.

It would have been nice to have had some croissants included with the breakfast. However, what was provided was perfectly adequate! My key for the outer door of the pub didn't seem to work, which might need to be checked.

The room was super comfy and there was a great choice for continental breakfast (as there is currently no chef)

It was noisy as it was above the pub and people were loud as they left The communication from the hotel was shocking though. I had made contact about extending the stay but expected only to pay the advertised price, not more as it ended up showing. I asked multiple times and got no help and refused to pay extra so only ended up staying the one night. That experience was really off putting

From our arrival at the Blue lion inn all the staff where friendly and helpful. Car parking was no problem, just over the road in private open area. Garden area is closed in area so our dogs where safe off lead whilst we enjoyed a drink in the sunshine. Our bedroom was good size, really nice, relaxing colours, well decorated. Solid wood furniture and large tv on wall, thats if you want to watch tv whilst away. Slept well on comfy kingsize bed and soft pillows. The bathroom was modern, lovely tiles with excellent shower etc. Plenty of towels and bathroom accessories. Great view over to the hills out of window, cute quiet Welsh village with everyone so friendly making it a super evening when entertainment was on, we didnt feel like strangers. Our evening meal was enjoyable and plentiful. Choice of Special menu and normal menu. Continental breakfast was plentiful in nice dining area, everything was clean and well placed. Coffee machine with various choices of coffee. We would recommend everything about The Blue Lion Inn and would definitely go again.

Everything was good, no problems at all. Loved everything about our stay.

Very comfortable. Slept really well in lovely comfortable bed. Lots of space and very quiet. Very convenient shop literally next door, stocking a huge variety of items. Didn’t get a chance to try the pub but met with friendly staff, will definitely try it next time. Lovely treat to relax in hot tub at the end of each day! All in all very happy with our 5 night stay and will definitely return.

Nice room ensuite bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities. We stayed two night but the tea and coffee weren,t refilled on the 2nd day, so we ran out of milk.

Booked for Sunday night although we booked our arrival time at between 21.00 and 22.00, there was no- one thereto let us in, eventually our phonecall was answered and someone came to let us in after waiting 20 mins in the rain and cold! The breakfast was continental and there was plenty of choice, but there was no butter/ spread available to put on the toast!

Well decorated, all facilities included, clean and modern and cosy.

It was not that we did not like the property, on arrival the bedroom bulb was not working. We raised the issue and it was addressed straightway. We also noticed on arrival the down stairs there was a musty smell which lasted for a few days. Definitely something which would need looking at.
