Always enjoy staying at the White Lion - this is our fourth stay. Staff are friendly and welcoming. All rooms are clean including the bar area and outside spaces. Great spacious and clean bedroom and bathroom. Bed linen and towels clean. Decent hospitality tray. Bed large and comfortable. Breakfast is very good. There was a large group arrived at the same time as us. The waitress did a fantastic job she was rushed off her feet! Nice selection of cereals; pastries, yogurts, jams, etc. Full breakfast was served in hot plates and very tasty. All in a pleasant breakfast room. You make your own toast and drinks but it’s well organised and neatly arranged - easy self service and the waitress continuously replaces items that are used.

The hotel was way more than expected. Staff were brilliant. The dining room was spacious and welcoming. Food was good. Christmas lunch was just right. The kitchen were happy to provide a smaller portion for me as I can't manage large portions. There were several choices for each course. There was a wait for service, not too long, it was a very popular meal. My waitress was great. Full marks to all the restaurant staff. Beautiful hotel. It's dog friendly, and your furry family members get a welcome pack and they have dog beds available. One of the best hotels for dogs to stay with you.

Nothing really. No lift, however, as it's a listed building, this cannot be changed. Not much of a problem even though I have trouble with this, having chairs on each landing, I could rest between floors. I would still stay here again.

Easy check in and the room was adequate. Had tea and coffee facilities and a nice big shower and lots of towels

We ordered pie and mash off the menu. At £13.00 we expected a home made pie as we needed to ask what the pie of the day was. When it arrived it looked like a shop brought pie. I do not recall the menu stating it was home made, but given you had to ask what the pie of the day we presume they were home made. Our friends wanted ham, egg and chips but the gas was not working so they could not have eggs so they needed to change what they wanted. Not sure how long the gas hadn't been working.

Lovely large spacious rooms, and friendly breakfast staff - particularly with one breakfast server! Didn’t catch her name but she was a lady from Prague and she was so kind, so considerate and was amazing helping myself and my children with their breakfasts.

We had a meal together n the evening - quite a lot of food options weren’t available which was disappointing. Also, we had breakfasts but they didn’t have milk available! Breakfast staff were incredibly apologetic but Management should make sure there are adequate supplies in time for the breakfast service! It was also reeeeeeally hot in our rooms but the radiators weren’t on and windows open - which was strange as it’s late October and very rainy. So not sure how it felt like a midsummer night!

Great pub! The room is a little old but big and comfy. The bathroom is really nice and spacious. We read the reviews saying that it might be loud, so we asked for a room on the top floor, and it was quiet. However, the floor is very squeaky, so if you’re a light sleeper, definitely book a room on the top floor. The breakfast was only £10 per person, and it’s great value for money! The lady at breakfast was very friendly.

The room is quite old, and the floor is squeaky. You could hear people in the corridor. There is a very limited amount of parking space.

This is the perfect traditional coaching inn. Half-timbered outside, inside the rooms are all down a maze of rambling corridors (check the fire exit location carefully!) They serve a good pub menu with a choice of excellent beers, while the beer garden is very popular with locals as well as tourists. Breakfast also very good. No surprise to learn that it's been there for nearly 300 years, that Queen Victoria stayed there, and that George Borrow in 1860 felt that the beer was as good as you could get anywhere.

Our room wasn't very big, and most of Bala's surprisingly vivacious nightlife happens just outside, which is a mixed blessing.

Hotel was clean and comfortable, spacious room, good shower. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were great. There's a small car park round the back but when that was full we easily found a space on the road nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing much about the hotel. It's perhaps more reasonably priced than some other places in North Wales because Bala is a bit off the main tourist areas, but if you have a car it's very easy to get to places. The town had a lack of places to eat in the evening, this hotel and another were so busy by 7pm one night they couldn't cope with any more orders and even the chippy closed at 7.30!

3 staff was great Megan a young man and Leah👍..helpful cheerful and welcoming and attentive to your needs😀 ... really nice breakfast..lovely old pub /Inn type property...oldy worldy...it exceeded my expectations re reading a few bad reviews..which to my experience were unfounded..so glad i didnt cancel because of that..however everyone's experiences are different 🤷‍♀️

No criticism intended im only mentioning as asked the question or I'd not mention it..so my observations was...Loose fitting shower head..kept rolling downwards position...shower room fan not working...so room got very steamed up with door ajar...condensation rolling down large mirror over sink wetting my night clothes.. in a.m my husband noticed the switch for fan right up near ceiling so got chair and turned it on then fan worked ?..i didnt know and couldn't reach even from a chair if id realised..'tiny' biscuits in room...and squeaky floorboards but it's an old Inn so to be expected ....Thank you for a lovely stay would return 100 % if in area and price was right

The staff were very friendly and helpful! My room was on the 3rd floor which was a bit of a climb with luggage but I'm young and able. The bar area and outside seating was welcoming and the room clean and comfortable. Mostly I loved the adorable big pooch (I think her name was Rosie) who wandered around in the morning :)

The cooked breakfast was maybe a little disappointing. The egg overcooked, beans a little stale, mushroom a tad dry. But the pastries on offer made up for that.

Chose the hotel for the closeness to Snowdon (50 minutes away). It was easy to find on the high street with parking either in the hotel car park or the street out the back. Room was massive with tea coffee and tv. The lady who checked us in and was the chef was lovely and everyone who worked there seemed happy to be at work and were super friendly. The breakfast is top notch so it’s worth adding for your stay. The bar is a nice set up and the prices can’t be grumbled at. I’ve already recommended staying here to a few people who are looking to visit Wales this summer
