Book in was easy, quick and efficient. Large, clean comfortable and quiet room . Didn't need or use it on this occasion bu the drying room is a massive plus if we had been travelling by motorbike. Excellent meal that evening and a great breakfast next morning, both served by the marvellous waiting staff. Probably the best cooked breakfast I've had and the grilled sea bass for dinner was perfect.
Could do with better signage from car park, the outside eating area and bar makes it a bit confusing at first. It was a looooong way to our room , but of course if you have just one corridor of rooms it will be. The toilets from the grill room are up some very steep stairs and the disabled toilets that are on the ground floor, require RADAR key that must be requested.

The bed was amazing! I badly need to know what the mattress was in room 213 as it was great and I didn’t get time to look before we left! The bath was supersize and waterpressure was great 🙌🏻 We booked last minute before doing the 3 Welsh peaks and was easy to find (parking was limited but managed to get a spot opposite)
The room was very very very hot 🥵 as we were above the kitchen I think 🤔 and you couldn’t open the window as i think the kitchen staff parked outside and could see straight in, and there was cooking smells coming into the room if you did, and the bin men woke us up at about 6/6:30am 🤣 there was a small fan in the room luckily which helped a little

Really friendly, helpful receptionist, and other staff. A nice welcome makes all the difference. We liked our room with its slightly faded old-fashioned charm. The shower room was bijou but functional with a great shower and toiletries. We had room 124 which looks out over a flat roof at the back, probably the kitchen because there was a big extractor fan outlet about 20m away; however, we soon got used to the sound of it even though we had to have the window open due to the warm weather. It was switched off between 11pm and 7am. No bother to us. We had a good vegan breakfast and a lovely vegan evening meal, the waiter couldn’t do enough for us! As there was only one vegan but three vegetarian options on the restaurant menu we would suggest that you could easily offer two as vegan options are ok for vegetarians whereas vegans do not eat dairy or eggs so can’t have vegetarian meals. In fact, vegan meals are also helpful for people with a dairy intolerance, not to mention that more and more people are getting concerned about the impact of meat and dairy on the environment. Just a thought. We would definitely stay at the Royal Oak again if in the area.

The room was lovely, however very warm. Couldn't open all windows due to traffic noise. The bed was comfortable but could have done with the option of just an over sheet instead of a duvet due to the current temperature. Food and service excellent. Can't fault the staff as they were so attentive 👏👏
Lack of air-conditioning in the room. Bar next door (yr stablau) closing at 21.30 Bar in hotel not manned after 21.30. We were there to celebrate my husbands birthday and didn't expect to be in bed just after 22.30. Also, the t.v in the bedroom only worked in the morning, as it pixilated from 22.30 onwards so it felt like we were forced to go to sleep after 22.30.

Nice hotel. Good location in the middle of a pretty village, very easy to reach from the main roads - and walking distance to everything. Room was warm and comfortable in an annexe behind the hotel building. Lots of car parking, easy to access. Note there is a hotel car park behind the hotel, under an arch (not to be confused with the public paid car park across the street.). If you have a high vehicle it's also possible to enter the car park from a small road beside the church. Several restaurants and many novel shops within walking distance. We didnt make a reservation, and the restaurant was full. This was a very luck thing! because we walked top the street and stumbled on a local pub which served fine food and good beer, with very friendly staff and clients. It was a greta discovery and made for a great night...
There was nothing I didn't like! Restaurant gets busy in the evening so make a reservation, but there are also alternatives in the area as we discovered

Reception were great as we had arrived earlier than expected but room was ready and allowed us to sign in. There were plenty of parking options. Prior to arrival Samantha had been very helpful in sorting a table in the Grill for the evening. The room was spacious with all the usual amenities and some extras due to the room.
The room/hotel is in need of double glazing as external noise was perhaps above what would be expected as the windows were old sash and didn't look like they had been maintained and a gap at the top. Fortunately not cold or drafty. The hotel front door needs the door closer adjusting as every time someone went through it banged on closing. Minor things but could make the stay even better.

The rooms were lovely and clean, breakfast was very nice and freshly cooked, we also ate at the grill the food was amazing and the lady that served us was so nice and friendly, sadly we can’t remember her name she was working Monday evening
We asked to move rooms unfortunately as there was work being done in the hotel and was quite loud at times. If we were out walking this wouldn’t have bothered us but we were looking for a lazy getaway in the room watching TV, the receptionist who we asked was very friendly and apologetic, moving rooms didn’t seem to be an issue which was nice. I then realised I left my moisturiser and phone charger in the old room and again the receptionist and night porter were happy to help and got them back for me, helped that the old room was empty but still very much appreciated

Got a great deal through this website. Staff were all so friendly. We ate at the grill room in the evening and had breakfast the next morning. Food was all really good and the choice excellent. Lovely lounge bar area for after dinner drinks. The large on site parking area at the rear was really reasonable and we really liked that it included full day parking for the day we were leaving so we could enjoy a look around. The stables complex room was quiet and comfortable. We were offered complementary leisure facilities in a hotel down the road but did not take advantage of these.
Nothing !!

Breakfast lovely, ask if you would like to mix your breakfast up. They did for us. Clean, warm all day and night. Didn't eat in the place, so can't comment. Staff very helpfull.
Could of had a better selection of drinks, went deluxe on room, was expecting coffee mashine, fresh milk to ask for. There was workmen working in other rooms from 8.30am till about 4pm. Did tell staff at the time, they said they will have a word with them to tell them not to start till 10.00am.BUT,this didn't happen. So glad to go home after 2 night stay. So let me down, but apart from them had a friendly stay.

Location was excellent. Beautiful friendly village. Great walks on the doorstep. Felt very safe as a solo female traveller. Plenty of local shops and places to eat and drink and a lovely spot to sit by the river on a lovely summers eve.
The rooms in the Stable Lodge weren't very sound proofed so woken up quite early by neighbour noise. Could here people talking outside the door a lot and showers running. However, that said, I will return as there were many more positives.
