I was expecting to hear the local speaking Welsh. But I’m surprised most of them speaks English which is better to all of the tourist for communication. And yet , it would have been nice if they speaks Welsh so I would learn it too. Anyway, everything was fantastic during our stay! Thank you Gales of Llangollen for our comfortable accommodation!

Just needed somewhere for an overnight stay. Very pleasant hotel/guest house/ wine bar close to the main street and handy for the LLangollen Railway. Had a twin room with two very comfy beds. Nice armchairs too which were much appreciated. There was a tv but we didn't use it. Good tea/coffee/chocolate making facilities with complimentary biscuits. Ensuite bathroom with shower. A nice extra was being given money off vouchers to use in the restaurant/bar. We used them in part payment for a couple of excellent vegan breakfasts in the morning.
Coffee wasn't great (but none of the coffee we tried in Llangollen was!) other than that all very good.

We appreciated the upgrade at our first stay in the hotel. Many thanks!
It would have helpful to know right from the beginning that the voucher we got could also be used in the evening in the bar and not only for breakfast (we wanted to leave early). The staff in the wine bar was very friendly but no all of them had knowledge of the wine they were serving. Teach the staff about wine would make a more professional impression for a wine bar. We had to change our order twice, for the wine we ordered was not available. Rather special for a wine bar ... We left with the impression that the organisation was rather chaotic. In all, we had a good stay, neverheless.

The location is fantastic and made it easy to explore Llangollen. Very close to some lovely walks and pubs. I enjoyed having plenty of tea, coffee, and milk provided in the room. The bed was comfortable and we was provided with lots of towels. As a bonus, we were given vouchers to use at the bar which was a lovely touch. There was a fantastic open mic night that was held on Tuesday which was very enjoyable. We had a lovely time going to the bar during the evenings.
Very minor problem of there being only a few parking spaces but I managed to park straight away.

Centrally located in the town Breakfast was awesome Staff very pleasant and helpful Bed and pillows very comfy Homely, welcoming atmosphere in the hotel bar Everything was spotlessly clean Nice quiet room slept well Even the owners cat, Daisy was friendly and welcoming
Only one lager on draft although a good selection of bottled/canned available Room door didn't close fully at the bottom and had to use cushions at bottom of door to cover gaps and door really hard to open due to the door closing device set a bit too high Bathroom ceiling light and extractor fan did not work, although light above mirror was sufficient Parking was very limited, was unable to get a space, not allowed to park on the streets due to traffic wardens, but plenty of chargeable carparks are available

Breakfast was of a high standard and freshly made, the booking included a voucher towards food and drinks. It was enough to cover the cost of scrambled eggs on toast,so effectively our breaktfast was included. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of town,Gales is also a lovely, historic building with lots of charm.Great restaurant and an outside dining area.
Nothing to complain about really, our room was on the small side,we have stayed in more spacious rooms previously at the hotel, but a spacious, modern bathroom was a plus.

Full Welsh Breakfast was well cooked, and nice Valentines evening meal. The building was full of character and very much in the middle of town. Staff were very friendly and very attentive.
The boiler had been changed the day before we arrived and found no hot water coming to the shower, eventually we got some later and the second day was fine. Car parking is a tight and didn’t have a space for the second night.

We only stayed one night and it was a late booking. The gentleman at reception was very helpful giving us a room at ground level. We had dinner there which was lovely and a few drinks before we headed off to the best night sleep I have had in long time the bed was so comfy I didn’t want to get up, the bedroom and bathroom were very clean. I would recommend this hotel.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Good quality refreshments in the room. Well planned light and decorated room with great hair dryer placed sufficiently near a mirror. Good food with a voucher towards the cost of food or drink.
You need to be early to get a car parking space. Entrance to car park will struggle to cope if cars get any bigger! Main light not working in the bath room and I thought the wardrobe cupboard was locked. With a tiny knob for a handle it was very difficult to open.

Everything, it’s perfectly positioned in Llangollen, near all the local amenities, pubs and eateries. From here you can strike out further into North Wales. It’s a lovely, lovely hotel, with wine bar attached. The staff are perfect, and the house Cabernet Sauvignon is lush! We had the suite, which is a beautiful space, with the original wattle and daub walls on display, stunning beams and living room. It was excellent value for money, and we are sure to be back.
Nothing, it was exactly what we needed for our trip.
