Warmly greeted by Brian on check-in who offered us a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful room 8. Room was decorated to a high standard with great facilities and spotlessly clean! We had dinner in the evening and thought the food was to a high quality with giant portions. Breakfast in the morning was again excellent quality and a nicely leisurely checkout of 11am. Exceptional value for money. Thank you; we will be back!

No onsite car park however parking was available just around the corner so not a problem at all.

I didn't enjoy my dinner experience, in this instance I tried the steak and found it to be a bad cut of meat and with not a lot of meat and little supporting the meal, I was left dissatisfied and still hungry, plus no one asked me about my meal and if it was satisfactory. I did not enjoy the location of the Dalesman in terms of the first impressions it gave me, as it was tucked away in the town centre and nowhere to practically park and unload your baggage. It was a disappointing town in general, as the streets were so narrow everyone had to park a few hundred metres away in pay parking areas, so I wont ever go again or recommend it to anyone else without that warning.

Every member of staff were warm, friendly, just lovely people! The room was amazing, just perfect. Loved the remotes for the blinds and windows etc, and the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom! The little added extras like that were great. The breakfast service and food were also brilliant. It’s always difficult staying away with a toddler but we just felt so relaxed. We’ll definitely be going back!

The only thing I could think of is that there is no parking available on site but we found a space with a short walk.

The evening meal was excellent - from the starter of Gin Cured Sea Trout, to the main of Hot Smoked Scottish Salmon and finishing with the Sticky Toffee Pudding! Pub Grub doesn't come better than that! My breakfast of porridge with honey and raisins kept my energy level up all day on a trck over the Howgills.

There was very little to dislike. The room for one was very comfortable, perfect for the lone traveller. Though perfectly adequate, the shower and toilet/washroom were a little tired. The bed was very soft, though I do prefer a firmer mattress. None of this is in any way a compleint! Just personal preference.

I was traveling by myself and only needed a single room, they only had a cottage left and amazingly the price of this cottage was less than many of the other single room B&B’s in the same area. Beautiful property and if I’m back in Sedberg I would definitely love to stay there with my partner. Great place to stay while exploring the area.

Can’t think of a single criticism.

Super quirky hotel which we loved. Staff were super friendly and very accommodating. Prices may be on the top side (remembering it was Easter Holidays) but you pay for what you get and we would not hesitate to stay again. We stayed 2 night and would have extended to 3 but was fully booked.

The furnishings and design of the room were individual and the temperature was right, neither too hot nor too cold( though the weather was excellent). I found I had come without my phone charger and mentioned it. The manager was very good and loaned me a charger....that is above and beyond.

There was nothing I didn't like. A good choice of wines, convivial guests and staff who genuinely tried to make the guests stay a happy one. I shall certainly phone the Dalesman first if I need or choose to visit the wonderful area again.

We liked everything! The food was amazing, the service was great and our room was beautiful and so comfortable. The biggest bed I’ve ever stayed in! Even the mirror with the built in Bluetooth speaker was a hit, my boyfriend especially liked it after a few lagers and a good old sing song in the bath 😂

If I had to be really really picky the main door to the bar made noises like someone was knocking on our bedroom door so when we were in the bathroom we kept shouting hello! Didn’t bother us though, we actually found it quite funny and made a joke about it.

Beautifully specced in a great location … We had a slight confusion with needing a twin room which wasn’t how it was set up on arrival - the Dalesman generously sorted this without a fuss and really made our stay exceptional! Food great.

A little issue with parking availability and walk from the hotel - but not a huge issue

Rooms were fabulous beds was one of the comfiest we’ve had in a hotel . Food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful . Jack the new waiter was so lovely and the gentleman training him was so good an excellent teacher 👍😀
