The hotel is in a fabulous location, close to everything we needed. We had a 4 night stay for Tramlines Festival and can't fault it at all! We were upgraded to a superior room on arrival and the staff were always helpful! One of the nights we had met up with parents and we couldn't get them a taxi home, Stuart at the reception desk was more than helpful and booked a taxi for them from his system. Allowed them to wait in the reception area with us until it arrived. Every time we left or came back we were treated with a huge smile from all workers and a hello. I've never felt so welcome at a hotel!

Now the bar area stopped serving at 11.00 pm which is odd as most people in there came back after a concert at the city hall so put a bit of a dampener on the evening for many we spoke to who would have liked to have had chance to relax for a while after a night out - also three very young dodgy gentlemen arrived in the lift with their own cans of beer and bottles (not purchased in the bar) tried to enter the balcony which was closed then sat in the bar area and were not challenged to leave - very strange and they were extremely intimidating - several customers commented on it!

The hotel was in the perfect location and very modern inside. The reception staff were very welcoming and accommodating as I needed an early check in which thankfully they were able to accommodate. My room was IMMACULATE; whatever products the housekeeping uses smells amazing and the smell lingers. The bathroom was spacious and the shower delightful - no tight cubicle or awkward/complicated shower system; just a simple push and turn that you do BEFORE you step under the stream. The hotel corridors overall were quiet and the bed was heavenly.

The only negatives I have to mention are the TV - which was a bit of nuisance to navigate and had some kind of short timer on it; luckily I had my iPad with me anyway. There was also one bedside lamp that didn’t appear to work that I forgot to mention to the reception staff, but there were countless others that did work.

Beautiful hotel: -Really clean, modern and well designed throughout -A fabulous powerful luxurious shower over bath -Great mini fridge that was actually cold enough to chill water and yoghurt etc -A genuine mix of pillows both soft/firm rather than 6 of the same wooden ones you often get in places -Really comfy bed -Great breakfast in a lovely setting overlooking a lovely part of the city -Really kind and pleasant staff - there was a fire alarm at 1am and whilst one dude was being really rude and gobby to the night porter about it, he stayed really calm and polite in response. Respect for that customer service in the middle of the night! (genuinely can't understand why people complain about fire alarms - would you rather the system just didn't work?) -Great parking discount at the Q park which is bang central, literally about 3 minutes walk away so it's virtually on site

-You can't open the windows in the rooms to get fresh air - there's really good air con but if you like your fresh air, this might not be for you. I think it should say or make it clear on the listing really that you can't open the windows in the rooms, as it does make a difference for some people. We didn't really mind.

The location and beds were exceptional. You can tell it’s a newer hotel compared to the other hotels in the area. The gym was small, but has everything you need. The staff were so friendly as well! Shoutout to GRAHAM and SISI! They were at the front desk and make us feel so welcome. My husband is from Sheffield, but it was my first time, and it felt like a second home. A real treat and will stay here again!

Housekeeping didn’t always provide bottles of water, but you can grab bottles from the front desk or the gym. Otherwise, it was an easy fix!

Excellent central location in heart of the city. Easy walk from station and restaurants and sports facility. Very helpful staff. Made check in easy and helped by printing something off for me. Impressed that check out not until 12. Left luggage facility was very useful. Room was comfortable and clean. Lovely new modern bathroom. Fridge in room very convenient. Bar serving food til late which is a relief for late arriving travellers.

Little thing but my daughter took my travel shampoo so was expecting to use the one in the shower but found it was empty. Disappointing and avoidable. This should be checked each time the room is cleaned. Earlier breakfast on a Saturday would have been good. We didn't book breakfast as my daughter needed to be at Pond Forge by 7.30am. Hotel was fully booked and reception staff were trying to engineer what time people were having breakfast to avoid a rush on the Saturday morning. Should consider earlier breakfast slot to give more flexibility.

the room was spacious and well lit, the bed was comfortable, the pillows were really soft, the bathroom had plenty of space, able to fit a large sink and surface top next to the wall to wall walk in shower which was really refreshing to use, the breakfast was great (even if we kept showing up towards the end of the time) on top of that the timing for breakfast was great for us since we tend to wake up later, the staff were very friendly and helpful keeping it as a nice environment to be, allowing you to feel like you can interact with the staff.

the pillows felt too small we swapped the front pillow and back pillow because there was no firmness to the front pillow at all which to us felt weird,

We loved all the facilities, the food was delicious, well presented and at an extremely reasonable price, the roof top terrace gave you the freedom to enjoy a drink in the sun and observe the people enjoying themselves in the peace garden below it also afforded a great panoramic view of the city. What made our stay extremely enjoyable was all the lovely staff in particular Jessica and Revati, from roof top bar and dining facilities who went over and beyond there role taking excellent care to ensure our experience was memorable, they made that much of a brilliant impression by them being friendly kind courteous & extremely helpful we have decided that will be coming back, in the near future, they are a credit to your company. There was nothing major that was a displeasure so to state what i liked would mean i could miss something

i was disappointed that i was unable to reduce the temperature, 21 deg is too warm for me so i woke up with a very dry mouth with the covers towards to bottom of the bed. Also i didnt think that the directions to the main / front enytrance of the hotel was clear, as there is more than one set of lifts you have to walk through the corridors until you find the correct lift to fron entrance / reception in LG not G (which is what i am used to).

Exceptional service that went above and beyond all expectations! I booked a room for a romantic getaway as part of my partner's birthday weekend, so messaged the hotel in advance to let them know that we may arrive a little early. On arrival we were told that they were giving us a complementary upgrade, and when we went up to our room we were utterly delighted to find that there was a birthday card and chocolate for my partner. The staff had also arranged our towels in the shape of a tiered birthday cake, and scattered some rose petals. We were absolutely blown away by our experience, and will definitely be returning for future special occasions.
