Fantastic location, great service and facilities, friendly and co-operative staff.

During check-out I was handed a laundry bill, although I never used their laundry service. I immediately protested, in response to which the receptionist took the bill back. However, shortly afterwards, I received a bill by email with a link for payment. I called up the hotel and said that I did not use their laundry service. The lady on the other side accepted my claim and said that she would inform the hotel. There was no confrontation so to speak, but this served to slightly embitter my check-out experience.

The hotel is in a fantastic place. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The toilet did not have a strong enough flush so sometimes didn’t get rid of the paper on the first flush. We did have a fridge in our room but it wasn’t working to start with. We were offered a new room but the kind member of staff came and sorted it for us so we didn’t need to move. We were glad to have a room at the front of the building so it was nice and quiet. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. We liked the offer of money off at the bar if we saved on room cleaning. A good incentive to be a bit greener. It was super helpful to have parking in a secure car park that was validated too. This was our second stay here and we would certainly look to stay here again.

Excellent location, friendly and approachable staff. Good size room, lovely bedding and everything you needed was supplied. You felt the sense of efficency all around you. Would recommend and definitely plan to stay again. The staff are very willing to please. Being so central there was so much to see and do and endless opportunities for food, drink and entertainment. The hotel itself was located in a beautiful square.

For the age, type and hotel size a cosy sitting room would have been nice, as I chose this over the more modern stark hotels. Overall very pleased.

Gorgeous building, very very nice rooms. Excellent location. Generally good service. Facilities are wonderful. You also get a bar voucher every night you request your room be left uncleaned.

During the night water started dripping out of the air con unit (at about 3am), onto where I had left my clothes. The dripping water was fairly extensive and continued for hours. I was unable to find staff to help, and had a disrupted night, which was disappointing given the room was £100+. In the morning I mentioned this at checkout and was told that maintenance would investigate, which was small comfort to me who has been left uncompensated for a fairly sleepless night.

Great location and beautiful building, near the cathedral and the Winter gardens. The breakfast was fantastic, really great quality sausages etc. The beds were the most comfortable we have slept in so much so we took photos of everything to try and buy for home even our teenagers were raving about it. We could also open the windows and there was air con. Despite being in the centre it was quiet. It was an elegant location with lots of twinkly lights and lovely eateries. The customer service at the hotel was great and we liked seeing the old photos of when it was a school. Beats the other hotels that we have stayed in before and the price was cheaper too. We will choose this as our preference when in Sheffield visiting family again. Thank you.

Originally booked a king Delux room but as the bed was on a mezzanine up a spiral staircase (it was a lovely room) it wasn't suitable due to mobility issues - staff were very helpful and swapped room - bed was very comfy and room even had decaf coffee which is something you usually have to ask for. Location excellent for our concert at City Hall and tram line nearby if going to the arena. Hotel has local partner restaurants ( we used Pho, a vietnamese restaurant in Leopold square) which give discounts for hotel residents.

Not a dislike as such but room description didn't say some rooms have beds on a mezzanine - now I know I would specify a similar room on one level

Its central in the heart of Sheffield. I was attending an event at City Hall it was a rainy day and the hotel wasn’t more than 2 mins walk away. Its accessible. Fresh and welcoming.

The staff is key. The reception team always greets me with a great smile and is so helpful. I feel safe with them. I ate at the lounge for the first time and my pizza did the job particularly as i didn’t want to venture out in the rain. I messaged ahead regarding my requirements, and they were met without me mentioning them. That is service for you. Nice big room. Clean. It smells clean, too. Oh, and they are doing their bit for the environment by encouraging their guests with £5 VOUCHER if the room was not requested to be cleaned that day. You can still ask for more towels, etc, if required. But a nice touch is also a great incentive to use the voucher in the lounge.

The property is in a great central location near to all amenities. It’s a lovely hotel with engaging staff who are focused on helping you make the most of your stay. We had booked to eat out but weren’t previously aware of the partnership scheme the receptionist told us about on our arrival. With this we were able to get a discount off our evening meal. The room had an excellent shower.

The breakfast was pretty basic which was a bit disappointing. The residents bar said on my site that it closed at midnight on a Thursday but it actually closed at 11pm. Not a problem for us but it just needs to be accurately reflected on the site.

The location is ideal for the City Centre. There is a drop off as the car park ( very secure) is 10 mins walk away. Employees were all pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was easy to receive as self service , good variety and tasty start to the morning

Maintenance in room. Towel rail not working, Several bathroom floor tiles cracked and flaking. One spotlight not working and room temperature at 24C- too hot. Fortunately being practical was able to resolve. Being in a City Centre there is some noise in the evening, yet could sleep soundly in the main. Noise is nothing to do with the hotel

The room was a good size with a comfortable bed. We were really pleased that we had breakfast included in our rate, which we feel is rare nowadays. Hotel is centrally located. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, offering recommendations. The most unique part of the stay is that the hotel has partnerships with local restaurants, so you can go, show your room card, and get 10% off your meal. This was a great touch, and helped us eliminate decision fatigue about where to grab dinner after a day hiking in the Peaks District.
