The hotel looks idyllic from the outside and it is quite charming inside. Staff are friendly and helpful. In the bathroom we even had robes and plenty of space, plenty of towels and excellent quality wash, shampoo and lotion. The water stream was excellent. The room was warm, the bed was comfortable. The room was cleaned daily. The breakfast, especially by the fireplace was just an add on to the positive experience. When I needed a taxi, the staff arranged it immediately. There is also specious free parking all around the house.

Can't think of such thing.

Everything !! The room was amazing . My wife enjoys interior design and was gushing about the decor. Breakfast was delicious . Loved the selection of healthy v Full Derbyshire . Service was very good . Dinner was exceptional . Staff were friendly and helpful. Location on the Chatsworth Estate within walking distance of the farm shop and a couple of miles of Chatsworth House . Very good interior Design shop next door to the Inn and staggeringly good Wildlife Painter's studio next door also . The weekend exceeded my expections and cannot recommend a stay at the Pilsley Inn enough.

The only thing that I can think of to comment upon is that when showering , the water leaked under the screen of the bath onto the floor

Lovely little hotel, perfectly situated for exploring the Peak District and especially Chatsworth. The staff were fantastic, giving us an upgrade when I requested a room with a bath when we arrived on a cold sleety night. The room was warm and comfortable. The service was fantastic with amazing attention to detail, from effortlessly dealing with my dietary needs to producing a surprise birthday dessert for my husband. The atmosphere was friendly and we felt well looked after all weekend.

Nothing!

Characterful, cosy inn in the small hamlet of Pilsley, a short distance from Chatsworth. Close to Baslow, Bakewell and the peaks for walking. Comfortable rooms with good facilities. Friendly staff at checkin, dinner and breakfast. Good quality food at dinner and breakfast - a step above the average pub fare but not too fussy. Will definitely stay again if the price is right.

Not too much. Water pressure was a bit variable in the shower. Shame that there doesn’t seem to be a good footpath to Chatsworth. Instead we drove to Baslow and walked for there.

Lovely place to stay. The room was classed as a cosy double and whilst it was quite small it was certainly big enough for us and very warm. The staff were wonderful, very pleasant and helpful. Lovely location and there’s a lovely walk into Chatsworth.

My only slightly negative comment was about the lack of great choice of vegetarian evening meals. Only two choices, risotto and an aubergine dish and if you do t like one of those you’re a bit stuck for the second evening. Certainly a pasta or pizza option would have been welcome.

Great Location, helpful friendly staff, bathroom lovely bed very comfortable if I was ultra critical room was a bit small but adequate , had electric charging which was very useful and everyone using one of the 2 chargers moved their cars so others could charge. Breakfast excellent.

Evening menu a bit limited , would have been lovely if they had offered a Sunday roast.

The location for Chatsworth estate was really good. The staff were friendly and welcoming Loved the toiletries in the bathroom and homemade ginger biscuits. Bed very comfy and breakfast lovely.

Felt that the food in the restaurant was overpriced and so was the wine. I had beef rump which was £27 and received 2 small slices. My husband had the pie which was £20. No house wine on the menu. No where to sit in the bar just for a drink, had to sit at the table you eating at or one of the others till the diners arrived, there were a few stools which are not suitable for everyone.

Quiet and peaceful Lovely room and facilities Setting, near to Chatsworth Farm Shop and lovely shops next door. Lovely breakfast included. Bathroom was ideal. Room was cleaned each day.

Service at breakfast. Kept waiting and tables around us were not cleared. Toast was cold. Simple thing but makes a difference. Waiting for staff who aren't available. Walk from our room to the dining room was unlit at night. TV said it has I player and You tube but it isn't working. Evening meal was expensive. Be careful.

This is our 4th visit. We stop off overnight on our travels across uk. Magnificent setting. Village and hotel steeped in history. The staff are excellent and friendly. Dog friendly. Our dog Merlot loves it. Stayed in room with 4-poster bed. Breakfast simple but good quality. Local Chatsworth farm shop nearby. Impossible not to buy something.

Not much to dislike. Evening meal: I had roast lamb which unfortunately was drowned in heavy, rich gravy. Would be better to serve gravy separately.

Lovely location with beautiful views of the village. Excellent tea and coffee facilities, especially having the fridge for milk downstairs. The card, biscuits and chocolates were a sweet touch, having said we were on our honeymoon! The bathroom was amazing with so much space, and I liked the bottles of shower gel/shampoo instead of the small ones. The breakfast was superb with yummy continental and cooked options. The dinner on our first night was also delicious! We’d wanted to have a couple of nights of luxury and they certainly delivered: we definitely want to come back!

Only that we couldn’t stay longer!
