Staff at the premises were excellent without exception. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Checking was easy and they didnt mind that we arriver at 10:30am , although we couldn't check in until 2pm but we could leave our cars there until then. This was the same one the day we left, we could leave our cars in the car park all day after check out. A reasonable selection of beers at the bar and the evening meal selection was varied and well cooked though mainly standard pub food with plenty of options for vegan and vegetarian. It was good value too coming to about £150 for 5 of us. Breakfast was plentiful and there was a continental selection was well all for £12 pp. Our room, Chatsworth, was spacious and had a double bed and a single bed with a large bath and shower over the bath. It was warm in the room and we had the window open most of the night. We did face onto the road but being Bakewell this didn't cause any problems with noise until the morning but we were getting up early anyway. There were plenty of electric sockets in the room. The location is excellent for exploring the town.

The Castle is an old building and this is reflected with a bit of wear and tear, though nothing to suggest it was run down, and this added to the character. Neither of us has a good night sleep but this was probably more down to the big meal we had and being used to a kingsized bad at home.

Excellent location , nice big rooms , lovely sized towels in the bathroom and a very good shower..All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them . Breakfast was exceptional, hot , tasty and delicious,with lots of choice.Will definitely return here .The added bonus is that The Castle has its own car park , just remember to tell the staff your registration number when you arrive, otherwise you will get a fine . There are signs in the car park to alert you to this system .

There wasn't anything to dislike ...loved our stay here and shall definitely return.

Very central position. Stayed 2 nights in the Bakewell room upstairs but separate from the pub with our own entrance off the beer garden. Room was adequate and big enough for us with a nice comfy bed. We enjoyed our evening meal when we arrived and the 20% discount was a bonus.

The only drawback with the room was the light all night which distracted slightly from our sleep. The biggest gap under the door I have ever seen but that was easily rectified by placing a towel over it. It was the green light over the bed that was the problem. The pub, although very convenient for everything in Bakewell, is on a busy road and the outside seating area is next to it which can be quite noisy.

The room we stayed in was quite dated, we found the bed quite hard (personal choice), some noise outside in the early mornings due to the location of the room (I.E. road traffic, delivery vehicles, noise from the extractor fan on the roof and noise from the kitchen below). This isn’t a complaint as we appreciate these things are out of the pubs control, it’s more of a observation x

Considering the price, everything about the Castle Inn was perfect. The room, the staff and the food (included breakfast and paid for, evening meal) were all very good. The location is perfect, right in the centre of town but with its own carpark and just a few hundred yards from the start of the Monsal Trail.

Considering the price paid we didn't expect luxury but what we got was very good and hence there was nothing I didn't like.

Similarly the accommodation was good and in particular was very clean and well staffed. Free on-sight parking during our stay was also much appreciated

Beautiful location, cute wee rooms with a good sized bathroom. One of my favourite pubs in Bakewell, great breakfast and lovely staff.

The bed/mattress was waaaay too soft for us. May be due an update. Not a mark down as this is personal preference. Everything was super clean, however, the wee throw at the foot of the bed was caked in dog hair. Definitely not dirty, but could use a good shake out between guests.

It was exactly what I wanted, comfortable, clean, warm, and reasonably-priced. And the location, ideal for the pretty town of Bakewell and the Derbyshire Dales, was unbeatable ! Everybody was friendly and helpful.

There was nothing I didn't like, but others might want to be aware that the accommodation is adjacent to the inn's outdoor space (and a town street), and the walls are very thin. In October this was not a problem (and I would have slept through a fire drill anyway.......) but in high season I can imagine noise would be a problem for some guests.

The location was perfect for us, the parking was great. The room was amazing, warm and spacious, slept like a baby both nights the bed was so comfy with a good amount of pillows. lots of tea and coffee and a huge TV! We had food in the pub in the evening which was great, sat next to a big roaring fire. It was just what we needed and all the staff were so friendly, we would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location in bakewell town centre, ample parking and a lovely comfortable warm clean bedroom, tastefully decorated with a large bathroom.

A few things had run out at breakfast on the second day of our stay. Room is right on the busy road so it can be noisy as you are trying to get to sleep, there is no inner wall to the bedroom it just opens up straight onto the path outside. ( I wonder how this would be in the summer as there are tables and chairs right outside the bedrooms)
