Excellent Hotel, clean and very comfortable. The room was lovely, they provided us with a fan as hottest day of the year, which really cooled the room, slept well in the most comfortable bed either of us have ever slept on! The couple who own the hotel are genuine and courteous, greeted us on arrival with excellent hospitality. They are both lovely and you can tell how proud they are of their hotel, which shows throughout the clean neat property. They informed us the hotel was built in 1940s as a hotel, this makes the place feel more spacious than usual small family run hotels in the area. The streets around the hotel are very quiet and pleasant, having a great atmosphere and scenery, some beautiful gardens around, which we enjoyed on the short 10 minute walk to the Embassy theatre The beach is a 5 minute walk directly across from the end of the street. . Nearby are restaurants, Italian, Chinese food, kebabs and the traditional chippys, you are spoiled for choice. A mini fridge in the room which has water provided in there, we put wine and procecco in there and it kept them nice and cool, so the fridge was better than some top named hotels I have stayed in. All amenities were described to us upon arrival, which I found to be an exceptional personal touch. Thank you Saxby Hotel for hosting us, I do not hesitate to recommend, especially for theatre goers wanting to stay overnight. Spent the next day at the beach, having lunch and enjoying the recent heatwave. Fantastic experience, that is sadly missing from the hospitality trade nowadays. Owners should be proud of what thay have achieved here and of their exceptional hosting skills. Anyone unsure, just book, you will not be disappointed. Stayed in room 3 and I recommend it.

What's not to like.... Everything was amazing. If you dont like this place, then I'm sorry but the problem would be you!

The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. Although me and my wife used the hotel to put our heads down for 2 days, I would definately spend a full week there, then we would use all facilities. Didn't have any meals there but did smell nice when we passed the dining area. They have a big lounge where u could sit and watch tele or talk to other guests or read a newspaper. Like I have said, only there a couple of days but if I was ill, I would b comfortable to stay in the hotel, knowing that I would b looked after by the owners. I definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone. Next time I go to skegness, I will definitely stop here.

Having only 2 days stay

I was greeted very warmly and was told everything I needed to know. The room was very clean and comfortable and the hotel itself was in a great position being away from the town but still in walkable distance. It was very peaceful and I wasn’t disturbed. I was given a key so could come and go as I pleased which was useful. I had booked room only which was my preference but you could book breakfast if you wished. The room had tea and coffee available which was replenished each day. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The only slight thing was the speed of the shower as it was a little slow and could have had a bigger shower head but overall a lovely place to stay.

Good selection for breakfast . Full breakfast was good. Room request was catered for. Nothing seemed too much trouble for Wendy and her husband . Nice touch with the text the day prior to our stay informing us of the post code to use and time of check in.

Whilst we appreciate the weather was cold when we stayed, the room struggled to get any warmth into it. There was no direct heating in the bathroom and this was cold. NOT a criticism but a thought. We use portable oil heaters in our home that run for a minimal cost. If it meant charging a couple of pounds more I believe it would be counter acted by a more positive feed back .

I booked this for my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary,as I was going to a weekender in Skegness. I dropped them off and Paul greeted us when we arrived and was very helpful in explaining things to my mom and dad. The door outside the room had been decorated with an anniversary sign which was a nice touch. They both loved the breakfast and said Paul and Wendy were the best perfect hosts. Also the room was excellent and not far to walk to the centre. Definitely will book here again. Thanks Paul and Wendy.

Location, very laid-back attitude from owners , always a smile , couldn't do enough , they don't do evening meals but the first thing that was asked , would you like some of our Currie which was a lovely gesture , but we had already decided Fish and chips , they then told us the best restaurants, lovely breakfast in the morning , everything you want for breakfast and much more .

For me, only the bed was a little soft for me but still managed a good night's sleep , my mates room was spot on for him , very clean .

A wonderful night spent in Skegness made perfect by Paul and Wendy at the Saxby Hotel. The hotel is spotlessly clean, the beds and bedding very comfortable and fresh, and Paul and Wendy are exceptional hosts. They were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the whole area and the hotel is perfectly located away from the hustle and bustle of the beach, but close to everything you might want to see or explore. Thanks for a fab night - we will definitely be back when we come back to the area.

Lovely property, when I walked in I was like wow this is nice. Greeted by Paul, checked in and keys provided along with useful information. We stayed in family room on top floor. Grand kids were next door with their mum and with full access into our room 😁Rooms were clean comfy and fresh. Had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again. Set in a nice quiet residential location.

Wendy and Paul are super hosts at The Saxby. We stayed for one night. Parking was on the premises with lots of space which is good. The hotel is lovely and very clean. Wendy and Paul work extremely hard to maintain their standards. Our room was number one and overlooked the street which is really quiet. We had a lovely big shower in the bathroom. Lovely white towels. There is a fridge in the room with water and milk. Tea and coffee with biscuits. Breakfast was absolutely amazing with such a lot of choice. Cereals,fruit, yoghurt, croissants, pancakes, fruit juice,tea or coffee and a Full English which was beautifully cooked and piping hot. We will certainly stay again. Absolutely fabulous!

Paul and Wendy made our stay great both where welcoming and generous with their time, Breakfast was amazing everything you could wish for. The room we had was large, comfortable and clean complete with tea and coffee plus a fridge with bottled water, Car parking was available on the premises and on the road. From the hotel to the clock tower, shops, eateries, arcades and beach was approximately a 5 minute walk away. My wife and I would not hesitate to return to the hotel again and again.

Too short a stay at the Saxby.
