Room was clean and included body wash and shampoo, clean towels and a yummy breakfast (get the breakfast). Gareth was helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. They went out of their way to make our stay delightful. The pub is a local favorite so it's fun and the food is plentiful. Location is very easy walk to the Abbey ruins and Victoria Park.
The room was kinda tight with two twin beds. There is very limited electrical outlets and zero usb plugs. There wasn't air conditioning which wasn't a problem for us but could be if it is very warm as the window opens to a car park and isn't secure. The wifi and tv were not very consistent.

I normally stay in chain hotels, staying at the Prince Consort was a refreshing change. The bedrooms are in a different building away from the Pub so they are very quiet, and while on the subject of bedrooms they are clean and the beds are comfortable, and some thought was put into their layout. Food, full English breakfast is a simple repast cooked to order, but it's all change when it comes to lunch or dinner the variety of freshly cooked food on offer will suit everyone's pallet, they even do a specials menu in the evening as well, as the main menu so I suggest booking a table as it gets busy. All the staff are friendly, and willing to go that extra mile, nothing was to much trouble for them.
This is personal they only have teacups in the bedrooms, I like a mug of tea to start the day, but it's a hardship I can put up with

Check in was easy and quick. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and a good size with private bathroom. Shower was easy to use, powerful and good temperature that was easy to adjust. I had a meal in the evening, ordered at the bar and ate outside on the decking. I had chicken goujons for starter and a king prawn salad for main. Both dishes were delicious, very good sized portions and I would highly recommend them. Breakfast in the morning was delicious too. Good choice of cereals, yoghurt and fruit juice to self-serve. Cooked breakfast can also be chosen from the menu, along with a hot drink. Very tasty food and plenty of it. Good location: on a quiet road that leads to a country park. A few shops in the local area (Co op, post office and some fast food places). There is a Tesco Extra a 5-10min drive away. Overall it was a peaceful and quiet location, I really enjoyed my stay. I would not hesitate to book again and would share my positive experience with other people. Thank you!
I stayed in room number 7. The room was hot, no heating on, the window was open but had a restrictor so you couldn't open it fully. But there was a fan and that made such a difference being able to have it on and cool down a little. There is a car park, it was fairly full by the time I arrived at 4pm. I had to nip out a little later after checking in. When I got back, I got the last space and it was tight as the car in the next space had gone over the line. Not The Prince Consort's fault though at all.

The food was excellent at all thee meals. They were able to accommodate us with food even though the lunch period had ended. The breakfast was very generous. We felt very welcome and exceptionally well cared for. We really enjoyed the off the beaten track location and the nearby historical locations. It was fascinating how we could look out over the Southampton channel on one side of the road, and experience the charming Sophie's Pond filled with Mute Swans and Mallard ducks and other wildlife on the other.
The Wifi was spotty. I think it was more of a general location issue than one specific to the Prince Consort. Without a car, our explorations were limited, especially in our short stay.

I only stayed on night as I used it to overnight for a cruise the next day from Southampton. It's close enough to Southampton with good public transport links, thereby missing all the craziness of the city. The location is great, only being a few yards from the foreshore and great local amenities. The accommodation block sits behind the main building and is secluded from the comings and goings from the bar and associated restaurant. The bar has a fine selection of ales on tap, and the food in the restaurant is first class. The staff are really friendly and attentive and the whole place was clean. Great value for money, and I have no problems recommending the Prince Consort.

Friendly and efficient staff, excellent pub grub for evening meal and good breakfast. Accommodation clean, bed comfortable, plenty of piping hot water in bathroom and good shower. Perfect for travelling with well behaved dogs, especially as the excellent Netley Abbey Park is less than a 2 minute walk away, where the dogs can have a good run off the lead. Dogs were permitted to sit with me whilst eating my evening meal and breakfast which was a real bonus too!
TV reception was poor - picture was badly distorted. Room was cold and damp on arrival as no heating was on. Several hours after turning heater on the room warmed but damp condensation ran down the walls.

This was our third stay, always excellent. Don't think there is anything they don't think of. Lovely decor, comfy bed, always clean and fresh. Peaceful rooms away from the pub, convenient if you just want to eat and drink and not to far to get back. Had food in the evening, reasonable price and lovely food in good local atmosphere. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good, lovely selection. Cereals, yogurts and good choice of breakfasts on menu. Will look forward to next year.
Because it's a local pub, parking gets full

Good quality Breakfast with plenty of options available. Room was comfortable with a Fan which was useful due to the hot weather. Also plenty of tea/coffee and biscuits supplied for your night time or morning cuppa. Always good to have parking available as well. Evening Meals are also available with a good choice menu with reasonable prices. Defiantly a good place to stay if in that area or waiting to catch a Ferry or going to the Airport. I would defiantly stay here again in I visit that area.
Nothing I can think of.

The room, bathroom, as well as the bed were comfortable and clean. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our 2 day stay. The public house area was popular and lively, without being intrusive, or too loud. I was able to feel relaxed, and would have felt the same if I had been there on my own. Breakfast was value for money with decent choice of cereals/yoghurt and/or choice of nicely cooked, then served, hot meals. Check out time was 11am, which is useful if the day before has been 'full on'.
I would have liked a chair or stool to sit on, rather than the bed, once I had 'dressed up' to go out. The room probably didn't have room for a chair, but maybe a stool? The room was spacious enough to be comfortable to move about without getting in each other's way. I would be happy to go back and probably will, when I visit my family again.

Booked so I was more “ local” for the Netley Abbey parkrun - perfect spot for that …. and to visit Victoria Park itself (enjoyed the chapel visit) and to walk along to Netley Abbey ruins. So the Prince Consort is a great location- the staff I met were friendly & my room was very welcoming…. next time I’ll stop for the breakfast too!
Happy with all - if able to change anything ( & this is being picky) it would be not to have such a creaky staircase to my room ( I tried to tip toe so as not to wake anyone…..)
