Rob Roy is a historical B&B/Hotel/Motel just before Aberfoyle. It is quite large but it does not feel, as all staff are really friendly, welcoming and polite. Rooms are basic but large enough, some on the ground floor some at the first floor, quite comfortable. Generally speaking is very quiet at night and very well located to explore the Trossachs. There is foot path to go to the village. The breakfast is generous. There is also a bar, with great coffee, and dinner menu. Thank you!

It does feel a bit like barracks, though also with the good point of being in a summer camp. Rooms are basic, maybe a bit dated, but we had a good sleep anyway.

I had a really lovely stay at this hotel! It’s in a very peaceful location — absolutely silent at night and perfectly dark for a great sleep. The town is just about a mile away, so it’s close enough to walk yet still quiet and relaxing. My room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Parking was plentiful with no issues at all. I also really appreciated the easy pre check-in process — it made the actual check-in super quick and smooth. Overall, a great place to stay — I’d definitely come back!

staff, food and location was excellent. Although there were 4 coach parties in non coach parties had their own dining room with very pleasent and efficient staff. Food choice was great and breakfast choice was excellent. The location of the Rob Roy was fantastic near the golf course within cycle or walking distance to town with abundance of great walks and cycle paths. Lovely wee friendly town with great selection of shops, bars and good wee cafes.

The hotel is a big complex with lots of rooms. Don't expect anything fancy but the price is good and the rooms are well equipped and clean. Location is convenient if you want to explore the area in and around Aberfoyle. Good restaurant in Aberfoyle (The Faerie Tree Inn) in about 1 mile distance. Glasgow 45mins by car. Ample parking. Breakfast buffet rather basic but ok.

We like the hotel for its convenience to our onward route. The breakfast was great.

The communication between bar staff and reception. We were told we could pay for our meal at the bar, which we did. But the following morning the receptionist asked me to pay for the meal we had the evening before. I assured her we had paid and asked her to check with the bar staff. She didn’t do this. She said if I told her we had paid then we had paid but not in a very convincing way! I left the hotel feeling as if I wasn’t believed, not a very nice feeling!

This hotel offers very good value for money, the public areas are quite modern & bright, but perhaps don't have a lot of character. My room was warm, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food was mostly pretty decent & the bar was well stocked, offering a good selection of drinks. The staff were all lovely and super helpful. I would definitely stay here again

Potholes in the driveway, there are many and this doesn't give a very favourable first impression of the hotel.

Last min booking as we had problems with the car tyres. Receptionist waited for us and helped us through check-in, gave us flexible breakfast timings - thanks so much! (Did not get your name) location-wise it’s not near any tourist places but the place was old but well maintained, clean for the price. Buffet breakfast was traditional Scottish and very sumptuous. Helped to soothe the nerves of our very stressful night before. Thanks so much!

Nothing really, everything was within expectations. We even learnt about local hero Rob Roy.

Good rural location, 30 minute drive to Loch Lomond. Large amount of Safe parking. The hotel has a nice bar and restaurant plus outside area. Basic 3 star, but clean, and priced appropriately. Rooms had tea/coffee, soap/towels. I had an excellent nights sleep. Female bar and restaurant staff were lovely, and very helpful. Good was fine.

One male restaurant attendant, was unhelpful and flippant. But this was one individual.

The Rob Roy Hotel,Aberfoyle is 100%dog friendly which is a big thing for us choosing a hotel. The food was amazing and we ate buffet breakfast/toasted sandwich for lunch and evening meal all 1st class. The rooms are clean and a decent size the only negative about room is not any electric sockets at bedside. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend the Rob Roy, Aberfoyle.

Breakfast was excellent,,, Location was a bit isolated,,, The history of the (Hotel) building and area was very interesting, as it used to be a WWll prisoner of war camp 🏕 and in the reception area there is a letter displayed on wall from one of the inmates from that camp,

Evening meal menus didn't explain costs for meals, so you didn't know what they cost 😡,,, BUT the food was excellent 😊
