Location was ideal for what we were looking for - a trip to Alton Towers & also to Birmingham. Staff were helpful & pleasant.

On the Thursday night we chose to eat in the restaurant. The food was great, but the bar was very rowdy. There was no separation wall between restaurant & bar. We were dining with young kids & we are sorry to report that there was quite a bit of swearing & bad language being used. This was to the point where our daughter was feeling quite scared & frightened by it. We spoke to a member of the waiting staff about it. It died down for 5 minutes, but then returned to the same volume & velocity as before.

First time to book here, and the hotel is close to all amenities, and 5 minutes drive to the hall where I had a meeting. Macdonald is just opposite the hotel. Tesco & Aldi just across the road. They are in a chain with Hungry horse where you can just order food/room service ❤️ The lovely receptionist, Rebecca was very welcoming all throughout the checkin process. Thanks Becky! You made us feel home. The staff at the bar were lovely, although it was a busy Saturday night, they still managed to facilitate us with hot sweet potato chips and tender chicken fillets. Excellent service to all Staff & the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back❤️🙏

The food was lovely, the price was great value for the food and drinks available ( some choices were out of stock or off the menu that day which was disappointing. But didn't stop us from enjoying our food or drinks. Breakfast was lovely The room was nice and clean ( needs a bit of tlc like skirting boards painted and the bathroom re-grouted) but the bed and pillows were very comfy and warm room

The windows aren't double glazed so come 5.30am we could hear the delivery men unloading and shouting the you can hear everyone going for breakfast or leaving early. Some food choices weren't available or drinks too Room needs tlc especially in bathroom But I'd still come back but with ear plugs

The Staff! Brett, Nicola, Ava, Becky and Lewis were just incredible, their kindness and hospitality was just stunning, they were the heartbeat of the venue and stay for us, they all created an amazing atmosphere that made our stay special and a memorable one, hats off to the staff I've mentioned, they deserve reward and recognition from Greene King and the Weathervane Manager for the sterling work that they do! Thank you all so much for the love you showed us, Ali & Karl

The northern weather! It just poured and poured with rain with hailstones as well! 😒

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The meals were amazing, and the room was lovely, clean, and featured a comfy bed. The staff were exceptional - I particularly appreciated the helpfulness and politeness of a certain staff member whose name I wish I could remember. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, with a local touch that added to the charm. A special mention to the housekeeping team for the sweet gesture of tucking my teddy bear into the bed covers! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially for those visiting Alton Towers. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The bathroom, while very clean, could benefit from some updates.

Unfortunately I can't remember her name, but the lady at the check in desk was amazing. Brilliant sense of humour, give us all the information we needed, informed us of everything important we had to know and made us feel so welcome, just what we needed after a long journey. The room was comfortable, perfect for a good night's sleep. The room is whatever basic, but I don't think there is much more anyone would want when using the room purely for sleeping. The location of the hotel is well situated with shops across the road, a pub attached to the hotel and some lovely local scenery/structures if you are willing to go for a short walk around.

Noise travels though the hotel, floors creaked from above us but fortunately whoever was above went to bed at a sensible time. The toilet takes a while to refill the basin but that's more an observation. The duvets on the bed are brilliant, but too warm for the weather at the time so I slept half uncovered.

Staff on front desk and in the restaurant were amazing, friendly, helpful and happy. Nice clean room and sofa bed was already made up. Parking available. Food available. Close to Alton Towers, close to Tesco, Aldi and fuel. Cooked breakfast included continental and you could help yourself. Would stay again.

Quiz microphone was way too loud nowhere inside where you could sit away from speakers so had to eat outside. Portions a bit small. Opposite neighbour complained about noise so staff member came to speak to them at 2am he spoke to guest really loudly I could hear every word he said while guest whispered.

Every staff member we encountered was so lovely and helpful and very lovely with our son. The breakfast was amazing and high quality. The staff were so helpful with oat milk and advice about dairy free alternatives

The hotel facilities itself were comfortable, Great mattress and nice hot shower with good pressure . But the facilities were rather tired, mold on the curtains etc and outdated bathroom suite. Overall okay for the money. The staff and breakfast compensated lots

This property offers everything a Family could want. We were visiting Alton Towers, with two very excited kids. Not once were we made to feel uncomfortable either through breakfast nor dinner. There’s lots for the children to do throughout dinner, so long as you have a few coins. Whilst the interior is a little tired, bedding was spotless as was bathing linen. WiFi connection as good as it can be as a guest, totally adequate for us. We have visited before and will return once more. for sure.

A few of the staff were somewhat ‘lack lustre’. When you are hosting Families whom are very excited, you need to ‘buy in’ a little more.

The shower was amazing and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The large tv was an added bonus. The breakfast included was lovely, good selection of continental and cooked.

The radiator had been on full blast before we got in the room so it was boiling hot in there, but we were able to turn it down and open a window so no problem at all. The extractor fan in the bathroom was quite loud, it did go off in the night but right back on next morning.
