We phoned before we booked because we were travelling by cycles, and would be there before the check in time, they said they could store cycles and we could use the pool before check in, staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, receptionist was very helpful, she even came to find us to tell us our room was ready early, the pool was lovely after a massive cycle ride, the room was massive and clean, breakfast was lovely great variety, we will be booking again hopefully soon

My steak was really tough, but my husband had a lovely meal, didn't complain because everything else was perfect

I have stayed here before, so had an idea what to expect. Although it is on a main road, it is set back so is very quiet. The staff were attentive and the food was very good.

I paid for an upgrade and, apart from the fact that it was on the ground floor, I am not sure that I received anything extra, except for an additional bed, which I didn't need as I was travelling alone, and which made the room feel quite cramped. There was no storage space apart from the wardrobe, so my clothes mostly stayed in my bag, which made me feel like I never really unpacked. The bathroom could do with some attention (limescale around the shower screen etc). Also, difficult to get to the shower/bath taps as the shower screen was fixed to the bath. I am under 5ft and it was a real stretch.

The hotel was lovely and the majority of staff amazing, the leisure staff members attitude was a little poor as she was totally uninterested and more interested in talking to the swimming instructor, after 15 mins of waiting we gave up, this may have just been a one off or she was pre-occupied. We wanted to know when the swimming lessons ended as the pool was full, the receptionist didn't know and they called her 3 to 4 times with no answer. Cannot fault anything else and the food was amazing.

Stayed here to celebrate wedding anniversary. It's our 2nd time here. Room with 4 poster bed overlooking the gardens is highly recommended. We used both menus in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Loved the pool and jacuzzi. Staff friendly and polite. Can't wait to stay again. Would recommend to anyone.

It was unfortunate but the fire alarm went off at 06:30 on Sunday morning so we had to evacuate to the freezing cold car park. No one was asking us to leave or checking that the rooms were clear and no one took names to see if anyone was missing.

Can’t really find any major faults the staff were very friendly , hotel was very clean we had a Indian meal on the Friday which was excellent, the only slight criticism would be the breakfast the English breakfast the bacon was hard and dry and the fried egg was dry and the yolk and white of the egg came away from the bottom of the egg which was dry and couldn’t cut obviously spent too long under a warming light , we had breakfast around 9.30pm on the Saturday perhaps if we’d have come earlier it wouldn’t have been like that otherwise the rest of the breakfast was fine

Well presented, interesting place. Quirky in many ways. My room (19) at the end of various creaky corridors through doors and up and down steps. Fitness equipment small selection and rowing machine a bit tired but nice small pool, jacuzzi and enjoyed the sauna. The welcome into the leisure area felt a bit ‘cold’ from the lady on duty. Nice jalfrezi in the saffron restaurant. Welcoming attentive staff. Decent breakfast and professional front of house. Overall pretty good.

Overall clean and tidy but there was some of previous occupants hair on the carpet of the room.

Attractive décor and layout of public areas, it is a bit of a maze but adds character. Nice little garden and some pleasant grounds. Convenient for Stafford Slow Ground (when the roads aren't all dug up).

No lift, up and down flights of stairs to get to room on ground floor. Price! I somehow finished up in a suit which whilst very nice was over the top for my needs. I don't know if this was a booking error by me or was the only room on offer on booking.com but it made an expensive weekend. Location is not great or particularly appealing and it is over half hour walk to town centre.

Great location for a visit to the Trentham Monkey Forest. The room was very large and the bed was comfy. Nice addition of a fan to use as it was so hot. We enjoyed using the pool and the sauna. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We both enjoyed the cooked breakfast. Lots of choices of cereal/ fruits/ pastries etc to help yourself too. Was nice to have a realistic check out time of 11am too.

Only gripe was the amount of flies/ wasps in the breakfast room while eating.

Very well appointed room, which was welcomingly warm when we arrived at 08.30 in the evening, with lovely comfortable bed. Breakfast is cooked to order and very good. Plenty of free parking and hotel is located in a quiet area, with easy access to the A34.

Mirror in bathroom of Wedgewood suite is too low for an adult to see all their face. It needs to be detached from the wall and raised about 12 inches. If this was done I would rate "Facilities" in the above heading as a top score, rather than the lower score I have given.

Everything was perfect, room with garden view was lovely, Everything was clean and to great standards. Staff were lovely and welcoming and breakfast next day was lovely alot to choose from.

Unfortunately we didn't get the opportunity to use the spa facilities due to myself becoming ill whilst there, I wasn't fit enough to move out of the room for the whole night. No fault of the hotels, but would of loved to have used our moneys worth and tried the spa.
