This place is lovely, really homely, the food is excellent. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. The pub and rooms are immaculate and the location is great, most things are around 30 mins away by car. We had a fabulous stay and visited a few places, we did The Farmers Dog, Bourton on the Water, Burford, Cotswold Country Park which is really worth the visit. We went to Diddy Squat even though closed but took photos and visited Hawkstone Brewery. These places are all around Bird in Hand. We love this area and are going to return.

Just a couple of picky things, the mirror in the room and dressing table, there is no socket to plug anything in, luckily my straightners leads is long. The other the bed and pillows are hard which did wake us a few times but as I say being picky, except the mirror as you really need a plug socket there.

Breakfast was delicious with 4 choices for hot food. Also Danish pastries, toast and conserves, yoghurt, fruit and cereal. Room was very comfy, clean and roomy. Plenty of clothes hangers and storage space. There was a television, an ironing board and iron and a hairdryer and also a fan and extra blankets if required. Hostess tray with tea and coffee too. The rooms are all centred around a courtyard on 2 levels separate from the main pub and very quiet at night.

Missed having a small fridge in the room. Quite costly in a taxi to get anywhere if you don't want to drive.

Great place. Friends we met on holiday suggested meeting up here for a meal. They live close by and regularly eat in the restaurant. We decided to stay the night to save driving home the same day. The standard of the food was excellent for both the evening meal and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the rooms were nicely decorated.

Just a couple of minor tweaks but no way did this detract from our enjoyable stay. A hook on the back of the bathroom door would have been handy and maybe paper coasters or beer mats in the bedroom as we felt bad putting hot cups straight down on the furniture. These are not criticisms, just observations.

Very friendly welcoming staff, good location for getting to and from Witney & very quiet. Great bar and restaurant, we had a lovely breakfast. Clean and comfortable accommodation. Thank you!

The hotel is located a little out of town, very quiet and with a good view of the stars. The room is spacious for three people (2 adults and 1 child) with a dog. There is a courtyard in front of the rooms and a small grass space in the car park, which the dogs enjoyed. We had a pizza before we got to the hotel and wasn't very hungry, but I wished I'd had dinner at the hotel. We only ate the starter menu. My husband had "Wild mushroom arantini", which was wonderful. The sauce come with arantini was super great!!

If I dare to pick a point I didn't satisfied, it was that hot and cold water came out of separate outlets, which was not easy to use.

Every time I go there I am treated with a very warm welcome, fantastic food and service. I had the beef dish this week which I describes back to them as the best meal I have ever eaten, which it was. The rooms are comfortable, cosy, spotlessly clean and good value for money. Car parking always has loads of space and its 5 mins from my facility, so ideally located. I have stayed in other more town centre positioned hotels and they do not compare to the Bird in Hand. I look forward to my next stay as I know the level of excellence will remain the same. Very spacious room Comfortable beds and pillows. Resturant was a little pricey, but food was exceptional. This didn't matter to us at all as the town of Whitney is only a short drive away, and has an abundance of resturants and pubs to eat in. Excellent breakfast. Staff were very friendly and professional. Great location for exploring the cotswolds.

Location was great for us; nice and quiet, but you do have to drive to go anywhere. However, the town of whitney is only a short drive away.

We had a wonderful stay at The Bird in Hand Inn. It is everything you could hope for in a cosy cottage pub escape. The décor is spot on with beautiful furniture, a gorgeous bathroom, and all wrapped up in a charming old building that oozes character. Even our dog was spoiled with snacks and I kid you not his own tea. The pub downstairs is a gem in itself serving a truly excellent dinner. Sadly we had to miss breakfast due to an early departure but that just gives us the perfect excuse to come back.

Welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable staff. Excellent food choices and quality. Lovely building with very attractive interior. Roaring fires. Fresh foliage on tables. Real candles. Dog friendly. Child friendly. Good accessibility for those with mobility problems. Plenty of parking. Bedrooms in separate building. Very comfortable and well appointed. Liked lobby for coats and shoes before entering room.

Surprised no electric vehicle charging point at venue and lack of them in area generally. Great accessibility but shower over bath in all rooms.

I always sleep very well when I stay at the Bird in Hand. The beds are very comfortable. I love the toiletries, fluffy towels are well sized, pillows super flooofy and plump, and the food is amazing for evening and breakfast. I love that I can make my own cafetière for breakfast. I’ve also stayed with my puppy too and they were very accommodating. Love that!

My only downfall (and they can’t do much about it) is that I can’t easily go for a walk due to the location being on a high speed road and on a dodgy bend.
