Whilst we didn't eat in the evenings because we were visiting familiy. The pub itself felt comfortable, with the quiet hum of conversation as people enjoyed their meals, mainly as there was NO loud music and everyone having to talk over it. #Perfect. But we did however have breakfast. And it was lovely with a really great choice from fresh fruit to a cooked breakfast. The room itself was very comfortable, with a great nights sleep, The pub garden was beautiful, lots of seating for larger parties, although from the front you would know how big it was and very well manicured. And the staff where very accomadating. Shout out to Philip, Sheila and James plus the ladies who served the great breakfast and anyone in the background we didn't get to thank. "Thank you all". We will definately be returning and perhaps getting 9 holes in at Long Sutton Golf club. x
The plug sink didn't actually hold the water, which was a bit dissapointing.

The hotel is situated in a lovely quiet village opposite the village green, amoungst a number of houses of a similar age. It is very welcoming, light and airy, with the staff very polite and attentive. The food was excellent, with a varied fresh menu with specials. Breakfast was also excellent, prompt and very tasty and of good quality; You order what you would like and at what time before you go to bed. The room was very clean and tidy, and in the case of the room I was in, the bathroom was huge (1.5 times the size of the bedroom), with an excellent walk in shower cubicle and a large freestanding roll-top bath.
Nothing, it was all excellent.

Really wonderful staff at the property particularly James who we met at check in and again when we ate at the Devonshire Arms in the evening. He brought us a lightbulb to our room and was generally really charming , helpful and friendly. The food was very good and the inn had a lovely atmosphere in the evening. Fabulous bathroom too and really comfy bed.
Nothing really, road is a bit noisy but it quietens down at night and we only heard it because it was a warm summer’s night and we left a window in our bathroom open. Certainly wouldn’t stop us staying again.

Nice warm welcome, lovely country setting, and the food for dinner in the restaurant was really good, if not a little bit limited, but can fully understand as to why. The breakfast was of real quality, all locally sourced produce, fresh and tasty.
I'm really nit picking here, but the rooms could do with air con, or even just a fan would've been suffice. Also the shower door opening was quite limited, especailly for a big fella like me, and i had to squeeze myself through, not ideal, although it's telling me, that i need to go to Slimming World.

The room and the hotel were gorgeous...clean and tidy with every attention to detail. We have never slept so well in such a comfy bed. The bathroom was fabulous with the roll top bath an added bonus. Lovely and peaceful and a great location to go off and explore. We ate at the location both nights as the food was fantastic and the service was great and sitting by the fire at the end of the day with a glass of wine was just perfect! Special shout out to the restaurant staff for our booking of a family meal on the last night, they catered to our every need!
Absolutely nothing!

Decor, furnishings and spacious bedroom of very high standard. Relaxing after a long drive in pouring rain. BUT
Quite the worst fish dish I have ever had and expensive. Small piece of hake about the size of a Weetabix and just as crisp and smothered in a gloop of diced vegetables called lobster sauce. Just awful so left half finished. Breakfast service took an hour and a half. First half hour produced a cup of coffee and a pot of tea despite pre-odering the night before!

We live abroad but we are regular visitors when back in the UK. To us it is perfect in every way. A beautifully put together property. Great staff so friendly and helpful. The food is terrific and our meal last night was simply superb. We can’t recommend the Devonshire Arms highly enough indeed it is my wife’s favorite place to stay.
There is nothing we do not like!!!

Location perfect staff perfect ,food delicious , Decor in the pub / restaurant food delicious ,staff very friendly ,efficient and helpful Outside seating in lovely surroundings a bonus
The room was really small, there was only one comfy chair in the room and my husband kept banging his head on the very low beams on the eves, a warning might at least have been useful or even pre visit warning and we were only staying two nights ,never been to the area before ..from Yorkshire .would probably have booked a different room tbh No drawers , only hanging space. Lacking in many ways Room 1 dissapointed us.. Rest of hotel ….loved it

Lovely old Gastro pub in a great location. Accommodation is clean and tastefully decorated. Staff are welcoming and attentive. We stayed for one night and had an evening meal in the courtyard - rib eye steak was lovely. Breakfast in the restaurant was top quality - bacon probably the best so have ever tasted.
Shower cubicle on the small side

It's always a joy to stay at this comfortable and welcoming hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the food excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. There is plenty to see and do nearby in this lovely and unspoilt part of Somerset.
We would have welcomed a little more variety in the evening menu. Only one vegetarian main limits your options if you don't fancy a meat dish.
