The room was huge and it was great to have a fridge and microwave as there’s really only one restaurant anywhere nearby and it’s very good but a little pricey for every meal.

We were on the first floor on the end by the stairway and every time people went up and down the stairs it sounded like they were pounding the walls in. It was VERY loud. Also, people partying right outside the room in the lovely little gazebo were also very loud. The mattresses on the beds really need to be replaced. They were extremely soft, like all the springs were gone out of them. Other than that, the room was fine.

Pluses -- extra large room, clean, great TV with many channels, nice shower, a bathroom with a closing door for privacy, easy check-in. In September we swam in the outdoor pool which was unheated but still warm enough for a nice swim, plus there's a working hot-tub that holds 4 to 6 persons that was working. It's family-friendly with a swing set and jungle gym for kids.Plenty of parking. It's convenient to Yosemite (about 45 minutes away by car).

Negative -- a staff person scolded me for swinging on the swing, saying it was only for kids under 12 years of age. But it was probably because of some stupid insurance regulations that they don't allow adults on the swings.

The room was modern, clean and very presentable. The size of the room was good and provided ample space. We had booked a queen twin room. The pool, albeit small, was clean, warm and inviting for all guests. The extra outdoor amenities made the stay enjoyable. The cafe next door, the Lucky Buck, served very good meals, dinner was a winner. Breakfast was also decent. The proximity to Yosemite is great. If you cannot get accommodation in Yosemite itself, then I would say the location of this hotel is ideal. A hidden gem only 3 miles from the hotel is Rainbow Pool. I suggest a stop to the pool in warmer weather and take a dip in this natural spring.

Staff seemed friendly enough, reception only seemed to be manned intermittently during the day, and I found that you could wait for several minutes for someone to attend the counter even after alerting our presence. The rooms are definitely not sound proofed, nor expected to be completely, however, it sounded like a heard of elephants were stopping around in the room right above ours. Luckily, the noise was not all night and we managed to obtain a good nights sleep.

Peaceful location , modernised facilities in a traditional motel setting friendly & helpful staff . Good quality beds,towels & bedding . Good breakfast eateries very close. The Lucky Buck was walkable & very satisfactory for a 3 night stay. Again staff were very good . Swimming pool not heated but a delight in the hot weather we experienced and 2 long days in the Yosemite park . There is also a hot tub. Groveland is a very pleasant country community.

Nothing really. It’s over 1 hours drive to Yosemite NP village but most accommodation is in this area.

The hotel was very close the Yosemite National park, around 20 minutes drive (which is relatively close). The room was big and mostly clean. There is a lot of parking. The staff were nice.

There were two bad things with the cleanliness: 1. When we arrived we found hairs in the bath 2. There was a bit of a bad smell from the bathroom (not sure if this related to the cleanliness level). One additional thing that can improve is the stream in the shower which was very weak. Except from that we enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying there.

Service at front desk at time of check in was lackadaisical. I arrived well pass the check in time and they said they couldn’t check me in because they hadn’t been notified by the cleaning crew if the room was ready. They asked me to wait half hour and I did, but after that time the front desk lady told me she still haven’t heard from the crew, so she still couldn’t let me check in. I went I talked to the crew directly and asked them. They said the room had been ready for over an hour, they just hadn’t notified front desk. They contacted the front desk right away, but the lady seemed to dislike the fact that I had talked to the crew directly, and it showed in her attitude when finally checking me in.

Our booking ended up being for the wrong day and the helpful staff ensured we had a place to stay by upgrading our room and ensuring it was the best value possible. They kindly walked us through the change, even though our error caused them this inconvenience. The location was great for getting to Yosemite, as it was a short drive to the entrance. The only way it could have been better is if it was in the park itself. But this allowed for cheaper dining options at the rest stop next door so no complaints here. The rooms were large and spacious and the facilities were clean and accessible. The pool looked lovely although we ended up not using it. I would highly recommend staying here.

We liked having a larger room. Everything seemed clean. Fun and friendly atmosphere. Lots of places to sit outside-really nice. Easy walk next door to food and a full service restaurant. Service staff at the restaurant were very kind and friendly. Food came quickly. They were not upset that we came just 30 minutes before closing. Hotel was located right outside park. Great for a family needing extra space with adult size children.

Reception gentleman at the front was not helpful and seemed grumpy. Could not find our reservation. Fold out bed and beds in general were uncomfortable.

The interior of this hotel was very nice and modern. I appreciated the USB and outlets everywhere on the bed stands and the desk. The towel holder in the bathroom was great to hold everyone's towels and the water was super hot! The place is very quiet and feels like a local gem. Really nicely done, as next time, we'll have to stay a bit longer (we had to get to the Backpacking Permit office at 8:00am)

Not really much to add. I guess if the front desk would stay open till 10:30pm for late check-in that would be great, but not a huge deal.

Nice clean rooms, great pillows, hot water and great location to Yosemite! They’re also close to Groveland, a cute little town with some restaurants, a brewery and shops. So you It was an easy stay at Westgate!

We were bummed that the hot tub was not working while we were there. With the chilly temperatures of late March we were looking forward to a long day of hiking and then a soak in the hot tub. But other than that the hotel and rooms were excellent!
