The room was very nice; well appointed; above-average amenities, including nice soaps and shampoo, and in-room Keurig coffee maker. The location was perfect; off the main tourist area, but within reasonable walking distance. Each room seems unique, adding to the charm.

The only disappointment is there was no chair in my room, so only the bed for sitting. I usually travel for work and this would have been a challenge to work on a laptop. My friend/travel partner's room had 3 chairs, although the room was larger; this seemed odd that my room had no sitting chair.

This hotel was very quaint, with beautiful gardens. Our room was clean and comfortable, and about .5 miles from main city attractions. We could have easily walked, but drove due to the rainy weather. It felt like we were staying at a Dutch Inn in the country! It was well insulated from outside/neighbors noise and loved the filtered water bottle fill station!

There was only 1 staff member when we checked in and he was very curt and uninformative. I think everyone is allowed to have an "off moment" and would definitely not hold this against him or the hotel.

The garden area was a wonderful place to gather with other family members that where staying at The M also. The rooms where nice and quiet. I love that the rooms had flower names.

The garden tables and chairs were quit dirty. I had to take a wash cloth and towel from my room to clean them off; especially the table. No breakfast. The pillows where either too hard or flat.

I loved the area. Walking distance to everything. The room was perfect. It was super cozy. It was clean. The shower was great...water pressure excellent. I loved it so much, I booked an extra night directly with the hotel staff. The garden was beautiful. I had a little photo shoot of my niece, with her Wednesday Addams dress, for her 6th birthday. They came out great!

Everything was perfect. If I would say something I didn't like it would be there were a lot of spider webs. The toilet took long to fill with water after a flush. No big deal :)

The M is a charming hotel away, but close enough, from the busy downtown Solvang. You can easily walk to see the shops, but you don't have the traffic and the noise. The garden courtyard just outside the room was very relaxing after a long day of driving!

Understanding that this is an older property and they have done some nice upgrades, there isn't much room to put a cosmetic bag in the bathroom or hang clothes. OK for a one night visit.

We had a bedroom with a king-size bed and a separate room with a couch and a kitchen (door closed between). The fridge was large and the kitchen included a stovetop with four burners and basic pots and pans as well as dishes and cutlery. There was also a toaster (I think a coffee maker too but we didn’t use it). I wasn’t expecting that but was glad for the space and also separate areas so my husband could watch TV while I took a nap! Other reviews mentioned the garden and I did enjoy having breakfast outside one morning. The hotel is within a short walk (less than 5 minutes) of the streets with the shops and restaurants without being right in the middle of the action. Perfect location in my opinion! Alisal Road also runs directly to the Nojoqui Falls about 6 miles away in the hills, which was worth the short drive and very short hike (only ten minutes to the falls but very pretty!).

There was nothing wrong with the property although I was expecting something different for the price we paid (maybe a lobby or indoor lounging area; the cafe was closed while we were there so the continental breakfast was not included, which was fine for us just not clear in the reservation). Solvang is simply an expensive place to stay, especially on Christmas weekend, so if I return to Solvang in the future, I would stay in another town and drive in just to walk around for a few hours (even though parking there can be a hassle when it’s crowded).

Location was great.. nice garden to walk around.. cleaning staff were friendly and helpful for directions I asked even though she didn't speak English and showed me where the water bottle fill was

The place was not really vacuum well in the kitchen area and the sofa had a smell of some residue of vomit 🤮.. and I actually got covid right after that..btw I am fully vaccinated with boosters..I travel to Mexico in the interior where people don't have decent restrooms and are short if water BUT I didn't get sick..yet here in CA the sofa not cleaned well makes another visitor sick

We have stayed at this Hotel multiple times, and always enjoy the lovely unique rooms and beautiful garden setting. The rooms have mini kitchens. We love the secluded garden area behind the property which is perfect for morning coffee. Very clean, quiet and comfortable property.

very quiet area just a bit off of the downtown noise. Felt like we were staying at a private european cottage. I like that it doesn’t feel like a modern generic cookie cutter hotel. We had the front garden area to ourselves every nite to watch the stars.The rooms in front facing the garden area are amazing ! I also like the fact that housekeeping & staff leaves you alone & doesn’t bother you every morning but will bring you fresh towels upon request.

Wish the front room had a small couch or a love seat. the table with 2 chairs was nice but not comfortable to sit in for extended period of time. The bed was kinda creaky & worried it might be too loud for neighbors.

The price is reasonable for the location and it is within walking distance from downtown. The rooms were clean and the garden is very nice. The area was quiet no outside noise from the downtown traffic and the rooms are nestled in the back.

I didn't like that there was not an attendant for late check-in and no one to answer calls, there was only an answering service and our keys were left in an envelope, it was only 8 pm. The rooms are dated but overall functional.
