Huge rooms, clean property, great location

This is an "invisible service hotel, and we do not have a front desk, meaning we have a contactless check in system." I thought I was booking a cute boutique inn but The Winston is a sterile, conglomerate experience. My phone died before we got to the hotel and there was no prior communication that this was contactless. It took at least 10 minutes to figure out how/where to even check in (it's an intercom to a call service), we did not see one other person the entire time we were there, and since no one is there monitoring anything, people park terribly taking up two spaces etc, so very few people can actually fit in the the lot.

This is our favorite place in solvang! Great location, we love how HUGE the rooms are and the bathroom is amazing! The design is unique and we love the added touch of a Nespresso machine. It is our second time here and first time with a baby and it was great! It’s also really quiet. We have stayed at a few other hotels in the area that can be noisy with traffic, but this is set back from the road and you don’t hear much car noise.

A lot of the furniture was dangerously loose. The desk could easily have toppled over and the table between the two chairs and a few lights were super wobbly. I notified the management and they said they would fix it. I think since there is no reception on site maybe some of the regular maintenance like tightening furniture goes unnoticed.

The room was huge and beautifully decorated. The beds were super comfortable. The bathroom was really nice as well. Everything we needed for a two-day stay was there. The location was great, right next to the main square for all the festivities, etc..

These are all nits, but the skylight in the room had its shades open and we didn't realize it could be closed, so the first night we all woke up with the sun. I called the reception and they told me about a remote that sure enough was between the two beds on the wall. It closed both, but in the morning, only one opened. The shower was really nice, but the water was closer to lukewarm than hot. But overall, it was still a great place.

Everything about the property is amazing. Its location is centralized & offers free parking. Entry into the facility is super simple. The rooms & common areas are elegant, organized & offer the best amenities. We had a king with balcony & the room was huge. They have a really cool feature which offers you entrance to the building & room. No need for keys. Big bonus points. Marcy was beyond helpful & truly welcoming. A genuinely gem. Definitely coming back when I want to see Solvang & get a staycation.

The interior design was amazing and very high spec. The room was really spacious and very comfortable. The location was excellent

Self check in. For some reason the hotel did not have our details and therefore we were not notified of check in procedures. We arrived and could not access the hotel. We needed a code. We tried to call the Winston but could not get through. Fortunately another guest told us to contact the Vinland (the sister hotel) where we eventually received all info necessary. They said the booking company had not advised our contact details. Quite stressful and time consuming.

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, upscale, beautiful wine glasses, honor bar, very modern. Perfect location in the heart of town, quick walk to lots of restaurants. Excellent food at the Irish pub downstairs and at all the surrounding restaurants. Wineries everywhere. Pet friendly.

It was weird not seeing any humans for the 3 days we were there. Everything is done by phone and code access. It all worked well and if we needed to talk to the hotel they answered the phone and were very helpful. The way of the future I guess.

The most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. We had 2 rooms and the decor in each was different. It is just so beautiful and unbelievably spacious. The decor in all areas of the hotel is fantastic. No lobby or staff, you receive a code to check in. There is an honor bar which is a great novelty. The bathrooms are stunning, bathrobes and slippers available. I would live here if I could.

This hotel saved our trip! The room was huge and so well decorated! We came on a rainy weekend and were booked at another hotel that has loud street noise. We were able to change to this hotel last minute and were so glad we did! The rooms are set back away from the street, in the center of town. Even though it was rainy, there was enough space to stay in the room and also enjoy the common areas. The espresso machine in the room was a plus, bed was very comfy and the shower was huge! We loved the wine and cheese time too. I would highly recommend!

The location was great, very central to town. The guest service person was wonderful. Very lively, and personable. She was great. Guest services left items for our pup.. thank you

Just a little noisy from the bar down stairs, but that’s to be expected when the room is over the restaurant. Other than that we don’t really have any complaints about the room or our stay.
