Had dinner in the restaurant one night and breakfast two mornings. All were excellent. The location was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent as well

They could have provided more parking but I do understand the situation. Also, I had a margarita by the pool. Based on the experience I had at the restaurant the night before I expected a margarita from the bar. Instead, I got a glass of ice and a premixed can of a so called margarita that was no bigger than my thumb. For a quality establishment such as the El Dorado, I expected more.

Loved our two-day getaway! Our courtyard-facing room was calm, relaxing and cushy. Appreciated the extra touches, including cookies upon arrival and nightly chocolates. The newly revealed lounge features stunning Erica Tanov textiles and provided a cosy place to read one rainy afternoon. Tony, the bartender, was spot on with his recommendations, especially the roasted Brussel sprouts. Already looking forward to returning!

It was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff were great. The room exactly as shown. The location was amazing too.

We were told we didn’t need to book the restaurant and could walk in anytime then when we turned up they were fully booked. We still got a seat at the bar and could eat. This was honestly the only thing, everything else was perfect.

There is no lounge or anywhere to hang out apart from the restaurant, which is expensive. I asked for breakfast of porridge in my room, but had to go down to the restaurant to order and pick this up, and it was served in a takeaway box which felt bizarre as the room was just above the restaurant. We also had the Mexican pop up one evening (ran by the hotel) which was delicious, but again had to eat out of takeaway containers on the floor of the hotel room! We didn't know until receiving the food, there'd be no facility to eat this in the building.

The accommodations are thoughtfully crafted, offering a blend of comfort and style that makes you feel right at home. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. The team is not only professional and efficient but also warm and genuinely welcoming.

Food

The location is unbeatable and the fact they have a pool in that location is just amazing.

It’s silly, but I had to carry my bags up some really steep stairs to my room. There wasn’t an elevator and nobody really offered to help me. My bags were super heavy and it took me two trips, which was just a bit inconvenient as I was in a rush. It’s really minor but an elevator or some help would have been great. I bet there’s a service one!

Everything was great! Location is fantastic. And the welcome glass of wine when you check in was a nice surprise. Room was gorgeous! And the personalized greeting card and bag of cookies welcome you to the room. Very nice touch!

The most comfortable beds, a great bathroom, a fantastic shower and a congenial staff!

We loved it! The room was small-ish, but we were only there for 1 night, which was fine. I think 2 or 3 nights would be fine, but a week might be long.

Location, style and comfort

Thin walls, you can hear your neighbours. Staff are nice and helpful but some friends had bought us a bottle of wine as a surprise for when we arrived but the staff forgot to give it to us. Oops! Shame pool is not heated in

Great location on the historic Sonoma Plaza. Walkable to shops, restaurants and wine tasting. Restaurant had good food. staff was friendly and helpful. Espresso in rooms. Coffee in the lobby each morning. Bathrobes provided.

Parking is limited, although we did not have an issue. Rooms are somewhat small. Bathrooms are updated, but the shower might be a hit tight for a taller or larger person. Be aware that many restaurants around Sonoma Plaza close on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday nights. (The hotel restaurant and bar was open.)
