The architecture was in the Old Sonoma Mission Adobe style. There was a gated privacy adobe wall around the property. We had a private outdoor courtyard for the few rooms in our section, plus a gated private small courtyard for our room. There were very nice trees and plants. The atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful. Breakfast was delivered in a basket hung on our gate - pastries filled with egg, bacon, cheese or fruit. The room had a tiny kitchen with gas stove, refrigerator, coffee and tea. The room was about 450 sq ft and easy to navigate and pleasant all around. This was my second stay, and I would consider coming again.

I thought everything was just right for what I wanted.

This property was GORGEOUS and we will definitely stay longer when we travel to California again. In the middle of Sonoma wine country and in walking distance to lots of restaurants and stores in a cute square, the ambiance of both the property and the surroundings were wonderful. Check in and check out were simple and we had great help from the office staff. We loved visiting Buena Vista Winery nearby and had such a lovely afternoon there. We only had one day in Sonoma so intend on going back to this wonderful property and area.

It was perfect- loved everything!

Absolutely beautiful! We stayed in the North Suite which was set up like a one bedroom home with a full kitchen and living area. Each morning I looked forward to the view of the courtyard from the sofa as I sipped coffee. There is a small private patio in the back. Every morning fresh pastries were delivered to the front door. Lots of small touches to ensure a great experience. This suite came with an on-site parking spot. Located two blocks off the plaza within walking distance to restaurants, tasting rooms and local shops.

We were very pleasantly pleased with our suite. The size was plentiful and the ability to use the available accesses was very desirable. The lighting was excellent and I loved “swimming “ in my pool I.e.bathtub! The proximity to the downtown area was amazing.

The lack of TV was disappointing. We found out after being there for 2 of the 3 days that we could use a tv that was brought in but nobody told us until it was too late. The heating system was less than ideal although it did work but was noisy.

Numerous small details such as very friendly staff with tips, gorgeous courtyards, 8am daily delivery of delicious local pastries outside our door, hand steamer, heat lamp outside the shower, comfortable bed, dimming lights, jetted bath, fireplace, semi-private patio with lounge chairs, etc. The location is just a 5-minute walk to Sonoma Square with parks, numerous restaurants, shops, historic buildings, etc.. We will return!

We have so few complaints. To pacify the ask, I would say having separate remotes and settings for the AC, heater, and ceiling fan was odd.

Everything was great except the a woman working at the front desk who was rude to us each time we encountered her. We asked if the water dispenser could be refilled — she behaved like this was a bother and complained about it being so heavy and that “she’d try her best.” The second time was at checkout; she complained again that she didn’t know whether we had checked out, when one of us went to her office and she wasn’t there. To which she responded “I was doing other things.” Okay? At every other place in Sonoma and from the other employees at Cottage Inn, we only had pleasant interactions. Please be aware that this person is negatively impacting your otherwise very nice business.

the room was lovely and bright. Would be lovely with the doors open in better weather. The morning pastries delivered to room were great to enjoy with fresh brew coffee in room. The fireplace was not working which they apologise for and left bottle of bubbles and chocolate strawberries to say sorry. They did try to fix and room heater worked so not an issue. Great location off the main square so easy to walk to restaurants and shops but in a quiet location.

Our room was not cleaned during our stay but not sure if we needed to ask/leave notice on door.

The Cottage Inn and Spa is lovely and perfectly located just a block away from Sonoma Square. It’s in a quiet neighborhood close to the bike/walking path. The Inn is clean and comfortable, and the staff is very welcoming and great at making suggestions about things to do. I stayed in the Alta Suite, which is beautiful and comfortable. They leave breakfast at your door every morning. I would highly recommend for a long weekend and will definitely return. Thank you for a great stay.

Large room, beautiful courtyard. Tea,coffee,robes,breakfast croissants fantastic. They thought of everything to make your stay perfect. We will be back!

Just beware there are no TVs in the room. Not a problem with the beautiful courtyard and private patio and spacious living room to read but if a TV is needed, you’ll be disappointed.

The cottage was beautiful! Clean, essentials + more were provided. Wish the weather cooperated so we could sit out on the adorable patio. The BEST bonus was the daily warm, baked goods for breakfast - 8am sharp! Close to town. Will definitely stay here when in these parts again!
