Close to beach and downtown.

Freeway noise prevented use of the balcony. Would request opposite side next trip. Balconies closed in on freeway side feel claustrophobic.

Spent 2 nights in a king accessible room, just a few steps from the lobby on the first floor. I loved that the parking garage was under the hotel, and the elevator made it so convenient to bring all my luggage easily up to the room. Elevator was just around the corner from the room, so a short walk. Breakfast room was clean and attended by a very helpful and friendly gentleman. The usual fare was available: scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict ( the egg was perfectly runny but the English muffin was pretty hard on the bottom. Impossible to cut with plastic knife. ). Fruit, cereal, bagels, toast, waffles, sausage, bacon, pastries, oatmeal. Coffee was pretty good, even the decaf. I would go back.

Bed could have been a little softer. Pillows could be fluffier.

The room was on the ground floor, it was clean

1 was in room 120 and the designated smoking area was across from my room and the smoke was coming into my room which is bad for my asthma. For breakfast they did not have any vegetarian options I also wanted to extend my stay but they were going to charge $285 a night, the hotel was not a luxurious or a Marriot or Hilton, I went and got an Airbnb for $195 for both nights which was very nice

Great breakfast!!!! Lobby and breakfast area really nice and clean. Rooms are dated but clean and efficient and the hotel is actively updating much of the facilities.

Unfortunately, this hotel faces a difficult situation that it can't do much about. The westside (facing the ocean) is above freeway 101 and the Amtrak railroad tracks, so traffic and train sounds are a problem if you are a light sleeper. Front lobby of hotel is on the eastside facing the backs of old, unkept homes and yards with trashed and abandoned cars which are right across a narrow alley. Even though this is not the most pleasant of scenery, the hotel does it's best on the inside to provide a nice atmosphere.

Everything went well. Everyone was kind and helpful. We have been traveling to this hotel for years, way before it became Amanzi. I do miss some of the old ways of treating long time guests. This staff has no idea that my company did retreats here and we usually booked 8 or more rooms for a weekend long event.

During the reception in the evening, the person that was making drinks was not the most polite. We tipped him well and he only allowed us to have 2 drinks. We were willing to pay for the beverages, as we were on vacation and wanted to stay at the hotel and not travel elsewhere to have cocktails with our friends and family.

The guy at the breakfast station was sooo nice! And breakfast was great as well - lots to choose between. The staff was in general really nice - we requested a room with view of the courtyard due to the construction, which a male receptionist noticed and thoroughly took care of! Room was classical american beige design, which was fine! Cheap as well

No soundproofing! The neighbouring room had an alarm go off every morning at 6:15 and this person did not turn it off for at least 15 minutes, and because the walls were so thin, the sound woke us up unfortunately

Great location, nice room size, very clean and comfortable. We received 2 complimentary breakfast buffet tickets, valued at $15/each. The fresh fruit and sitting outside to enjoy it was the best thing about the buffet.

The breakfast buffet was ok at best, but I definitely would not have paid $15 for it. The waffles were too sweet and the rest of it was overly salty for my taste.

Loved the location. We brought bicycles and were able to keep them in our room. Easy to bike to historic Main St shopping and to the Ventura ocean trail. We rode to Ojai and back. Also, checked out Ventiki Bar. It was awesome. We were there for our 49th anniversary and our waitress compt us a drink for two. Our room was huge and very comfortable and the staff were exceptional. Breakfast was great. We would stay here again and again. They allowed us to keep our vehicle in their lot after check out so we could ride our bikes all day. Rates were also very good.

Location was good for walking to the pier and along the beach. Room facing ocean was fine despite the noise from freeway and train as long as AC was on. Why would you want to miss seeing the beautiful Pacific Ocean?

Stupid bathroom light that is motion sensitive and came on full brightness if you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. No way to stop that or dim light. What happened to small night lights??

Clean and updated. Beds were comfortable, AC worked well, close to Main Street festivities.

Outside appearance is getting rundown. If you look above the main entrance, the huge window above is crowded with shipping boxes and other junk … right at the front of the building, makes it look like an abandoned warehouse above. The car port over-hang has been damaged where a too-tall vehicle hit it and it’s been that way for over a year … it’s right at the main entrance.
