All of the above. The central location. The congenial staff. The room upstairs (as requested) overlooking the quite large, attractive and sparkling clean pool. The spotlessly clean, attractive and comfortable room, heated to the perfect temperature for the current climate. Room housekeeping service with fresh, clean towels, room cleaning daily and fresh sheets supplied perhaps before need. Even the landscaping was perfectly maintained. I thought this motel several notches up from the general Motel6 reputations.

I thought the stairways could benefit with a wash and outdoor doormats are ready for renewal.

No breakfast, they just put out coffee. I don't bother because the cups are so small. I love the location, how easy it is to get to and how close it is to the shopping center. Appreciated the fridge and microwave.

The clerk put me in a room right next to someone and right above a noisy group, when the motel was practically empty. THAT really ticked me off, especially when I said I was noise sensitive as I checked in. Also, she gave me totally incorrect instructions as to where the room was. I had to walk the full length of the place, then go back and move my car a second time. So not great. Train these people better please!⁰ I really miss the rooms facing Carpinteria Ave, (now Studio rooms) they were my favorites. Everything else is above the parking lots where people hang out and yell, same with the pool area. I felt much safer in those other rooms, but they cost a lot more now. Nothing is done if people are loud or wild, smoking on the walkways.....it's just not as nice as it use to be there.

The room was fine, but fairly standard for this level of hotel. We asked for a quiet room and it was on our second night. The first night, there was an issue, but the night manager sorted it for us in an efficient manner. The local beach - about 15 minutes away on foot, was lovely.

For the price, we would have expected more, but the location probably makes this a more expensive place

It's what you would expect from a Motel 6 at its best. Friendly staff, Comfy bed, easy parking. It's for an overnight stay - not a honeymoon. The price naturally reflects this. If you are expecting a motel overnight stay just off the road, this is perfect.

Ability to make a drink in the room. (There was coffee available in reception in the morning. A much nicer drink than it looked like it was going to be)

Let's be honest - the main driving force for staying at a Motel 6 is the low cost. The rates here were half or less than many other hotels in the area. If I wanted a luxury stay, I would have to pay far more, and expect far more. Given that this is a bargain motel, I thought everything was just fine. The room was cleaned daily, towels, soap, and shampoo were replaced regularly, beds made, etc. The room was large enough, with a spacious bathroom (we were in an ADA room), a mini-fridge, TV with remote, etc. We did not use the pool or laundry, but they were available, and the location was a moderate, comfortable walk to downtown shops , restaurants, and beach. I will also mention here that the motel seemed to be understaffed, which led to some longer lines and wait times. However, this is the way things are in the US right now in all hospitality from hotels to restaurants, so I do not fault them for this. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and pleasant even though they were stressed out.

My only complaint (and it is worth noting since the main thing one does at a hotel is sleep), is that the beds were not extremely comfortable. They weren't terrible, but not like my bed at home. Also, for the lower price, you get full size instead of queen sized mattresses.

My unit was very clean and comfortable. I had a corner table for doing work/eating. Plenty of towels for my stay. Quiet property.

Bathroom was a little dark and the dark shades cut off all light from outside into the main room, which is not really what I wanted when it was a bright sunny day. I understand the need to provide privacy, but it felt claustrophobic.

I was allowed to check in 15 minutes early and was given a bottom floor room, easier for me and my small old doggie.

I found that the floor was not recently cleaned. My white socks picked up brown dirt from the floor. I wiped the floor with a damp hand towel and found that the floor was dirty. I reported this to the office.

One of the better Motel 6 I have done. Spacious rooms, very friendly staff, 10 minute walk to the beach, 20 minutes to the center, near a huge grocery store. It was great.

Near a busy street with noise and frogs in the river nearby. Didn’t really bother us, but if you’re a light sleeper you should consider earplugs.

There is no coffee maker in the room, so one must walk on over to the reception to get coffee. I apologize for showing up in my pajamas! The young man at check-in was unfriendly and rude. Perhaps, he was the son of someone taking over for a bit? Also, a receipt at the time of check in is never provided.

I came in late and left early. The night clerk had everything in order for me at check in and was very pleasant and professional. Bed sheets, and mattress were very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was clean.

Residual uncleanliness along floor/wall and corners. This may seem silly but it’s a pet peeve for me. When the bathroom door is closed I don’t like seeing dirt in the corners and along the floor.
