The room was bright, spacious and clean. The price was reasonable, considering the motel/inn was a short block from the sand. The beds, bedding, and pilows were top-notch. The owner told me he had just replaced the mattresses. My 91 year-old father loved the pillow so much that I asked the motel owner where he got them. He encouraged us to strip the pillowcase off and take a picture of the tag so we can find it online. And we did! The owner was very friendly and attentive.

There's a charge for parking in the motel's lot. The motel has 2 stories and no elevator. Although you can stay in a room on the ground floor, depending on the location of your room, if you're coming from the front office, you might have about two short sets of stairs that you'd have to walk down. So, if you have mobility issues, you should call the motel and request a room on the ground floor near the back gate to the parking lot because then you can park in the parking lot, which is located in the back of the building, and walk in through the locked gate to your room and avoid the stairs.

Jimmy the manager was great. They are in the process of renovating each room at a time. I believe they had at least half of them done. I stayed in a non renovated room. The beds were very comfortable. The linens were clean and nice. We never ran out of hot water and it was very hot. Water pressure was very good. It's a tough one for me to rate as all of Santa Barbara is outrageous when it comes to cost. We also stayed over Fourth of July which made it extra expensive. There is free parking which is nice.

The muffins seemed as though they were made semi-locally, which was a nice touch, but every one I ate tasted like they baked it in the plastic.

This Inn is in a wonderful location, easy to walk to the beach a block and half away. The pool area and two patio/lounge areas are nicely kept up and furnished with nice furniture. The room, as well, is nicely furnished, bed comfortable.

Only "negative" things were one of the "above the bed" lights was missing a bulb, and the other WITH the bulb didn't work; plus no A/C. After sun went down and it was dark outside, the lighting in the room very dim. I was in a Suite room, with a full size refrigerator, and the microwave was plugged in ON TOP OF THE REFRIGERATOR - but I did contact the front desk and they sent someone to take it down for me and place it on a table close by.

I still live in Santa Barbara.So I know that town quite well and I have to say it is the cutest hotel nestled in the perfect spot.If you're looking to kind of grab more of the scenic and residential areas. The stanta barber bowl also is not very far if you have an Is electric bike?It's very easy and safe to get to. The staff is fantastical

I would recommend lighting more to be suited for Amber.For the outside, it is best suited for our vision at night. Bright blue light and our brain reflects as daylight so it keeps us active.And emotional and Amber light reminds us of sunset.So it tells our brains that it's ready for bed.I highly suggest that you switch the mover to more than Amber.Or red light. Especially when it's gleaming in in windows. A few of the beachfront hotels have a nice example. But please.The light bulbs in the room are not made for those touchlights and the flicker , These are things that are common. Those people don't think about the psychological effect of light. I'm hotel is absolutely amazing

Breakfast options - great - soggy but delicious Location - amazing - cost was pretty good The beds were comfortable - I liked that they have standing fans in the room!!!! Shower was gorgeous Patio was really nice!! We had the very first room and so I was able to get my kids in and out of the room and our luggage very easily!! We could see the beach from our little patio!

Room felt a little stale/cold in the sense of flooring and set up. The beds moved which was annoying for me cause my kid kept pushing them lol 😆 the bathroom shower was A+++ but the rest of the bathroom felt old and dingy so it was weird to see that contrast. I love most everything - it just felt unfinished/needed a bit more to be cohesive as a room.

Good value for money, given how expensive hotels are nowadays. Our room was clean, and though it was clearly basic and cheaply set up, it was comfortable and pleasant enough, without grime or wear. The hotel was cute and old school, with a neat interior pool. The employee who greeted us was nice and the coffee in the lobby in the morning was pretty good. The location was a pleasant 20-30 minute walk from the edge of downtown via the shoreline, or a short cab or bus ride (the bus stops less than 2 minute walk from the hotel). Overall, I definitely recommend this hotel if you're on a budget in Santa Barbara yet still want some charm and comfort while being right next to the beach and downtown!

Like I said, you get what you pay for, so I wouldn't expect a "suite"-like experience, but it was all totally fine :)

Perfect location, 5 min walk from East Beach. We've stayed in a few of the lower price hotels / motels in SBA and this one was by far the best to date. Great value for money, clean room - with a nice fireplace, which we used as it was a chilly evening. We normally stay in the Harbor area, but flipped things this time and walked from East Beach to the Harbor and back - which is just about perfect along the beach.

Only minor complaint was some noise from the room above, as it seems like wooden floors between the 1st / 2nd floor. But thankfully not too much stomping around in the room above us. Paid parking was a bit ridiculous, the huge empty parking lot told a story that nobody wants to pay $15 parking and guests would rather park on the street! A big upsell would be to ditch the silly parking charge and have free permits for the nice lot. Which would also make the street easier to navigate - without as many cars parked on it.

The accommodation is only a few steps away from the beach of Santa Barbara and therefore in a great location. You can also easily walk to the town center via a beautiful path along the beach. We really liked our room. It was modern and large. The bed was comfortable and there was also a TV and a fridge. Unfortunately, there was no coffee machine. We chose the room with a small balcony. We had a lovely sea view from the balcony and could sit outside. The bathroom was clean and everything worked perfectly. There was coffee and tea in reception in the morning as well as a small selection of pastries. The heated pool was open until 9pm. There were also tables outside to sit down.

There was no air conditioning in the room, so it heated up very quickly despite the outside temperature being only 22 degrees. There was a ceiling fan and an additional pedestal fan. Since we were able to ventilate from the balcony, it was okay for us. Unfortunately the WIFI did not work for us. Parking on the premises 15$. Parking on the street is free and not a problem to find acparking lot there.

Pool area nice and clean, just like the room. Room was silent. All receptionists were very friendly. No breakfast available but free coffee and pastries and apples are provided at the reception. Bus stop close by to go downtown (approx. 20-30 min). Gas powered fire place provides coziness in the room. And there was a small balcony.

Some additional utilities in the kitchen should be supplied, e.g. only one mug available, pans and pots are done and must be replaced. Some small renovation could be done - broken handle of cupboard, unfinished painting of bathroom door but didn't disturb us at all.

Lovely room at the front of the property with balcony and sea view. Room was double aspect making it light and airy. There was tea and coffee available in the foyer. Pastries,muffins and fruit available for breakfast. Close to East Beach. Swimming pool and plenty of outside tables, chairs, seating and shade. The staff were all friendly and informative.

For our stay there was nothing we didn’t like given the position and space of our room.
