The staff at the Harbor View in are great - very friendly and helpful. The location cannot be beat for the best of Santa Barbara. We've stayed at over a dozen hotels over the past 30 years visiting Santa Barbara and the Harbor View Inn is our "go to". Its clean, modern, great staff, great location, and really nice pool. It has more services than the smaller inns that are in the area, and not "snooty" like many of the high end locations and the price can't be beat.

The room was big with a very nice balcony and an ocean view. The atmosphere was extremely relaxing in the entire hotel. We loved the pool, the sauna and the 21+ adult jacuzzi. The staff were very friendly. The location was fantastic - right in the middle of everything.

I didn’t like that there was no complementary water in the room. For a hotel room at this price range, there definitely should be some water bottles available for guests. The gift shop barely has any gifts for sale so I thought that store was very misleading. No restaurant/bar at the location is a little bit strange. You have to walk to a restaurant right next to the hotel for breakfast which is quite close but still quite a strange concept to me. The bed was big and nice but the pillows were very uncomfortable (had neck pain).

It was beautiful. Could see the ocean from my room and loved the balconies and cross breeze. The room was elegantly decorated, warm and inviting. I wish we had more time there. The location was incredible, in the center of plenty of activities, restaurants, bars and the best backdrop - the Pacific Ocean.

The location was prime but that also made it loud at night. That was ok, though. We were in the middle of a beach city and that made up for it. One small thing was that the previous guest’s soap and shampoo hadn’t been removed from the shower. Not a huge deal, just noticeable in an otherwise pristine room.

Great location with views of the beach and harbor, walkable and easily drivable distance to the rest of the local area. Nice rooms with bathtubs and balconies. There's a busy road outside and it's definitely not soundproof, but the balcony doors did a good job at blocking some of the noise.

Pretty expensive for very limited, basic onsite facilities and services. You can order a bottled water to your room for $7. There was also some cleanliness and maintenance issues. We found two bugs in our two night stay, and had to fix the toilet in the middle of the night because it kept running.

The room was much larger than I expected and was really nice! It was quiet, spacious, and had nice decor. There was plenty of space for our clothes with the closet and chest of drawers. We loved having the veranda. The location was ideal! It was walking distance to the beach and all of the great restaurants on State Street. We did not have a car and walked everywhere. We asked for early check-in if possible as we arrived at 11:30 and check-in was at 4:00. They had a room ready for us at 11:30, which rarely happens! We appreciated the noon check out. Aaron at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Every time I come to Santa Barbara I stay at the HarborView Inn. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. The staff is friendly and professional. And you cannot beat the location.

The fitness room is pretty basic and stuffy, so I just opt to go walking or running outside. Also, there is no restaurant on site, so if you are up early and need a coffee you will need to leave the hotel to find it. But there are some options less than 5 minutes away and for breakfast eating at Jeannine's is always a MUST.

Excellent room, deluxe double with balcony. Spacious, good bathroom with oval bath, seperate shower and seperate toilet. Good size balcony, comfortable chairs, view over State Street to hills, side view ocean. First class location.

Aircon was old. Not possible to set aircon to temp required, and have it stay on. It would go on and off. Kept room cold, but annoying. Front Desk said they would fix it twice, but did not. On day 4, I returned to my room at 10.30pm and found both sinks covered in muck. The guy they sent was puzzled! I asked for an explanation, which was not given, I had to ask at the desk. Some sort of blow back in the piping! I could not use the sinks that evening or in the morning. No apology. I thought this poor. As often the case, plenty of promises, not kept. Annoying that no restaurant for breakfast, so use Janice's next door, which is good, but.....

The location can’t be beat. Right across from the beach and plenty of restaurant options nearby. Rooms were modern and comfy beds. Nice pool and hot tub.

Although the rooms in the north wing were very nice, I didn’t like being behind the hotel and across the street. Walking down the street in the supplied robes to get to the pool felt really odd. Just too far away. When we started to get into bed and realized there was no supplied water, we called down to the front desk to inquire if there was any water on the property. They told us that there wasn’t but that we could get a $5 or $7 bottle from them. (Usually a nice place like this would supply at least one bottle per occupant.) Next day we went by the gym on our way to the pool and noticed there was a large cooler of water provided in there. Would have been nice to be told that the precious evening and we would have filled up our bottles there.

This hotel was the PERFECT place to stay for my first visit to Santa Barbara. It was right on the beach, had beautiful views from our room/balcony, and it was walking distance to the pier, State Street and tons of amazing restaurants. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We said it over and over again that when we go back, we have to stay here again. It was perfect!

My only complaint might be that there was no food onsite (room service) but Jeannine's is a few steps away for breakfast and lunch and there are more restaurants that I can count with all different types of cuisine less than a half mile from the hotel so the fact that there was no food onsite wasn't a deal breaker for us.

the hotel is located in a beautiful place. the room is modern, clean. upon check-in there was everything you need. towels are clean and fresh. the staff is very friendly

I didn't like that the hotel's parking is paid for additionally - it's not logical. I pay a lot of money for the room, and the hotel also has its own parking. I also want the hotel to provide slippers in the room.
