The room was clean and close proximity to restaurants and pier.

When I arrived to check in my room was prepaid just needed to check in and get the keys. The front desk hostess kept me waiting for 20 minutes because she was non the phone answering questions and booking a future client. It was rude to not place the lady on hold and assist me since I've already paid prior to my visit. When she finally got off the phone to assist me, it only took 2 minutes and I was out the door. I live 3+ hours away and was only staying for the night and daylight was as running out and I was really hoping to walk around a bit and have dinner before the sun went down since I have never seen this part of town before.

This motel was exceptional, we didn’t know what to expect, having travelled down the west coast we had stayed in some mediocre hotels, but wow, this is a real gem. Breakfast was more than we needed, staff lovely and friendly, top notch on decor and cleanliness. Loved the central garden space. We got to know many other guests sitting around the table in the garden area, the layout is conducive to meeting new friends without it being noisy or intrusive. We have been traveling the west coast and this was by far the best stop on our trip. Great motel, great location, reasonably priced and exceeded our expectations, Thank you.

Nothing, it was excellent

Immaculately maintained motel with a nice inner courtyard garden offering seating and some sun loungers. Friendly staff. Rooms are not the biggest but are well designed making them feel spacious and creating enough space for both a desk chair and an armchair. Spotlessly clean as well with proper glassware (not paper/plastic). Small motel layout which makes parking a little tight, but number of spaces equal to number of rooms. Breakfast - nice little continental offering and clearly freshly prepared. Location excellent. A few minutes walk to the seafront, marina, wharf. Price feels a little high for a motel but indicative of the area I guess, and I don't mind paying for quality which you get here.

This motel is very clean indoors and outdoors. The staff is friendly and helpful. Santa Barbara is a great destination. This motel is for people that plan to see the area, State Street, the pier, the marina, the historical buildings and want a comfortable and clean room to rest and sleep. The rooms come with a microwave, keurig, ac/heating, ceiling fan. The bathroom is a comfortable size. I liked the seating areas in the room. They have made good use of the space. I would definitely return when visiting Santa Barbara. In addition they are pet friendly, have a nice breakfast area and out door seating. (Parking is included but not assigned) Hope you enjoy your stay!

We loved it all. Newly remodeled with quality in everything placed in the room. We had a very comfortable sleep. Nice to have a microwave and were impressed by the size o the freezer and refrigerator. The motel is in a great location Very close to the beach, pier and wharf. Only a few minute walk from the train station and an easy walk to State Street. The breakfast was a very nice quality and had items that I've not seen before, like burritos and breakfast sandwiches. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

The chair was rather low and hard to get into, but once in the chair it was comfortable. (We are 70 years old).

Location and convenience and great rate that you typically cannot find at this location. We also enjoyed the remodeled amenities of the Superior King room with the large soaking tub and remodeled bathroom. Free Wi-Fi was a bonus plus the Smart TVs that allowed us to watch other than regular programming such as Prime Video and Netflix.

We highly recommend assigned parking to room number. It just makes sense for this type of motel/hotel. If somebody has a very large truck that blocks the already tight roundabout path through the property then they should be required to park on the street. Just have to stencil the room number in each spot.

Our dog sitter flaked out on us at the last minute. We were able to bring our 2 dogs with us. This hotel has dog treats, potty bags and dog area etc. The hotel is one block from the beach with great restaurants along the beach front. On day two we spent the day walking on the beach, eating outdoors and strolling through the outdoor art fair.

Nothing could have been better. Perfect. Even the weather. On day one we booked a historical and architecture walking tour of Santa Barbara. I would highly recommend everyone do that on day one. It was fabulous.

The hotel was conveniently located by the beach - it had a nice outside little garden with parking all around. Staff was friendly and nice. Helpful. Breakfast was ok - lots of carbs. The room was a good size and had a might kitchenette with gas stove and fridge and all kitchen utensils. Small bathroom with shower curtain. Nice soaps and shampoo. Water fountain available until 11 pm, which is nice.

So, I spilled water on the floor (which was vynil throughout and carpet under the beds) near the tv. Since we were afraid of slipping I took a small washcloth from the bathroom and wiped the floor - the towel was black after wiping it!!! The room itself was clean, bathroom was immaculate, beds and sheets spotless, surfaces dusted. But the floors …. Clearly no. So, vacuuming and mopping ok, but when there is that much use in the room you need to scrub a little. Also parking is cramped so once all cars are parked there is hardly any space to get in and out of the room (but I understand that the space is minimal and if you want to offer parking it’s the “price” to pay.

What a beautiful, well-maintained property. There was an orange-crowned warbler singing in the bottlebrush tree outside the kitchen every day. It was a long walk into town, so you might want to use bus or car for that, but it was just a short stroll to the harbour and beach. The room was modern, extremely clean, and very comfortable. The kitchen was excellent and fully-equipped. The breakfast served in the lobby had a good variety of choices from local bakeries.

The Marina Beach Motel was the cutest and cleanest motel I have ever stayed in. Prior to our arrival, the motel was in contact with us via email to confirm our booking and had accommodations for a late check in, if needed. When we checked in, they had welcome cookies at the front desk which was such a nice touch after traveling so long to get there. Parking is free and looked like one spot available per vacancy. Dogs are allowed at this location for an extra fee. Free bike rentals and towels were also included in the stay with just a few steps away from the sand! There are quite a few options within a 5-10 minute walk. I was thoroughly impressed with the layout of the bathroom and the upgraded furniture. The bathroom had a HUGE tub, two shower heads, a hair dryer, the black makeup towel in addition to your normal white towels, a disposable plastic shower cap provided, and even a nice body length mirror. My husband and I even joked that it was probably nicer than some New York studio apartments. The bed and the pillows were comfortable. Free wifi is available, there was a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. And there was free continental breakfast from 7-10:30am where you check in. 10/10 would stay here again and would recommend any family member or friend to stay here! Staff was super nice and helpful even though we only stayed one night.

The parking spots are a little close to the entry door.
