The hotel is walking distance to the Ventura Music Hall, as well as some great food and bars. Once we parked the car, we didn't need it again to go out for beer, dinner, or our show. This is an older, classic motel that they are currently renovating. The work on the rooms appears to be complete but they are still working on the outside. It is not a fancy property but our room was clean and comfortable and absolutely met our expectations. We had an all new bathroom that was very nice. The bed was. very comfortable and we slept well. There really aren't any amenities at this hotel, but that's fine. We were looking for a good place to spend one night and this would perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

There is no ice machine. It's possible you can get it from the front desk but I didn't ask. Also, I had to ask for drinking cups at the front desk as well. Not a big deal but I personally think they should be in each room when you check in.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms here. The rooms have been recently remodeled using intelligent design, quality materials and workmanship. The TV is 60” and the comfortable mattress must be over a foot deep. Linens are premium soft quality. There is an in room safe, small beverage refrigerator and a small sofa in the queen room. The quality of the rooms is surprising because of the plain exterior that is currently being renovated. I do appreciate that they took care of the comfort in the rooms before I pro the aesthetics of the exterior. Driving by, I never considered staying here, but I’m glad I did. I will stay here again when I’m in Ventura. It’s a great value. It’s not a high priced luxury hotel, but is a clean, comfortable, quiet boutique motel. Management is courteous, kind and helpful. The beach is within a 15 minute walk, along with several good restaurants and good market.

The only thing I missed was a microwave in the room or alt least available in the lobby.

The hotel room renovation was nice with both main room and bathroom in excellent condition. The bed was very comfortable. The location was near multiple cafe's for breakfast, and close to most destinations in Ventura. The room was quiet.

It would have been nice to have towels changed and basic maid service automatically during the 6-day stay. However, the manager did exchange our towels when we asked. It would be nice to have another light by or above the bed headboard. An in room coffee maker or in office coffee pot would have been nice. An adjustable shower head for height would also have served my wife better who doesn't want to wet her hair every shower.

Rooms were nicely set up, extremely large bathroom and comfortable king bed.

Check in was confusing. The office was closed I guess without a sign advising what to do. After standing there for a minute, someone says “next door.” I entered the door as instructed, and walked right into what looked like someone’s personal apartment. Everyone was staring at me awkwardly like they had no idea what I was doing there. Finally someone checks me in from the sidewalk outside. I’m ok with casual service and understand renovations are currently happening, but it was very unclear on check in instructions.

What a great hidden gem! The White Caps Motel is recently remodeled and all of the finishes are gorgeous and modern. The bed was huge and so comfortable. Huge new TV. Rain shower head with great water pressure. Clean, simple, and exactly what I needed. It's not a property you spend much time at, just a place to relax after a long day at the beach, but knowing that it was perfect for my trip.

It's next to two other motels who have larger signage that you can see from the street, whereas I couldn't see the White Caps Motel signage while trying to find the property. My room butted up to a neighboring residential property, whose residents were spending time outside listening to music and laughing loudly, but they quieted down by evening hours after I got home from dinner.

The rooms were newly renovated from very old and worn down to bright and beautiful blue tile in the bathroom.. it smells of fresh paint and it was very clean.. the owner that was in the office stayed after closing which is 10 pm to accommodate my late arrival.. he was very friendly and my stay was well worth the price.. oh and the parking for each room was conveniently right in front of each room. Also the toiletries were of good quality as well as the comfy fluffy bed and pillows you sink into.. I feel asleep instantly.. definitely will be staying here again in the future..

There was no clock in the room.

The location is excellent. A couple of cafes and restaurants and minimarts in short walking distance. Really close to the town center and the beach (both are within biking distance). The manager Kenny is Mr Hospitality! He did everything he could to make our stay better. We brought a couple of bikes and he made it easy to store them securely in one of the motel utility rooms. We had expected some construction noise but there was none while we were there.

It is very bare bones. There is a hair dryer but no fridge, coffeemaker, not even plastic cups.

The room was recently remodeled and looked great. Very functional, love the hardwood floors. Parking was great as it was right in front of your room.

As others shared, newly updated and very clean. Bed was awesome! Owner was very nice.

Biggest feedback: Definitely need darker curtains- the bright LED parking lights shine in making it VERY bright at night even with blinds down. I cant believe other reviews don’t mention this, as its not subtle. anyone with light sensitivity at all, you will not be able to sleep unless you have a mask. I went searching for one at various pharmacies nearby and couldnt find one, ended up wrapping a scarf around my head which made sleeping pretty unpleasant lol… No access to coffee onsite, nor ice or mini frig was definitely a bummer. No hairdryer. I went to Target and bought one, returned it after my stay.

Very nice, new renovated rooms! Rooms have a good style - AC is very good! Management was friendly! Top recommendation!
