We were only in town one night, but it would be a nice place for an extended stay. The kitchen had everything you would need. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very nice and allowed us to check in early. The hotel is old and kitschy looking from the outside, which adds to the experience, but the inside was modern and updated. The pool was very nice and clean. We enjoyed swimming and being able to look out on Lake Placid which was mere feet away. No worries though you are safely above it. Lol The screened in porch was a nice touch too. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to go back. If you are bougie, it might not be for you, but if you want a great small town, authentic Everglades experience, it is perfect!

There was only ice, and the Ivey house. You had to drive down the road for ice, but with a full size freezer in your room, this is a small thing.

Ground level rooms look like they are used as a kind of storage, the balcony was stuffed with things. The balcony of our room was not well maintained, the chairs were broken. The kitchen had no dishes and other things at all. We had to bring our own plates, knives and so on.

Quiet & very well maintained grounds, both secluded & safe. Such kind ladies at front desk/reception, & the rooms are quaint but clean, bathrooms are stocked with plenty of towels. Excellent property for a family or travelers on a budget like I was.

Given the location, you’ll want bug repellent, but otherwise it’s a lovely little spot on the water.

The room was very clean & it was nice to have a balcony area with table & chairs.

It would have been nice to have a little more space within the room itself for bags etc and also tea making facilities as well as the coffee provided.

The price was the best I could find in that location. The staff was quick to fix what few problems we had. Very accommodations with any questions we had.

Skeeter were bad but they couldn't help that. .the hall was being upgraded with new tile and we lost power once and water once but they were both fixed in a matter of minutes.

Staff - Debbie and Patti. Loved our room. Spacious, comfy king bed with nice linens, awesome walk-in shower, frig and microwave. Updated, quiet A/C. Excellent value and memorable experience.

Room fixtures need a bit of maintenance.

Good location with plenty of parking. Excellent value. Check in staff were friendly and helpful but be aware check in is at Ivey House a few blocks away. But I guess this keeps costs down.

Rooms recently upgraded! Bed comfortable, and bathroom new, clean, and functional! Mini fridge in room. Large closet. Good parking. Pool available. Picnic area on water!

Room refurbishment is so recent not everything was finished: Toilet seat not screwed down; No window covering in bathroom window (clear glass).

The shower was huge and great for disabilities.

Found out that all hotel properties were owned by one corporation so registration was not actually at the hotel itself but down the street.

The screened in porch and balcony were nice but I was hoping for a water view. Liked walking all over your cute little town and eating fresh seafood.

Better coffee in the room or a continental breakfast as breakfast places are not right near the hotel.
