This was a great value. It was like staying in a friend’s guest apartment. We always had a place to park our car right next to or behind our room. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was nice having a kitchen to cook in when we wanted to eat in. My husband and I wanted to be able to walk around the village of Miami Shores that I grew up in (in the 60’s and 70’s). El Portal is jut a few blocks from Miami Shores and right on 2nd Avenue where the shops and cafe’s are. It was nice being able to walk around my old neighborhood and not have to drive.

The only thing I didn’t like was a dead roach in the closet and my husband said he killed a living one! Eek!

I love the feel of it. Feels like your own apartment, feel secure and private l, located in a beautiful safe area. My favorite was the full kitchen! Overall the best hotel I stayed at. Of you want a hotel that is unique and the feel like you are in an apartment then look no more!

All was amazing but I did not like the lockbox the get in and out of the apartment. I think they should be More modern lockboxes was hard to get in and when checking out to open it again! I couldn't deal with it.

The Cottages El Portal is an amazing place to stay. Having a small apartment, centrally located with a full kitchen makes vacation feel like a home away from home. Staff were friendly and prompt. From sending messages to simply saying good morning. Parking on site is plentiful, and the neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. The Patio outside was great for a romantic dinner "at home". Lounge chairs are out for sunbathing, courtyard was stunning. We will definitely will consider the Cottages again when returning to Miami. We traveled as a couple for my wife's birthday.

The host made the check in super easy!!! We liked the location because it wasn't too far away from all the attractions and beaches but far enough to be peaceful and out of congestion. We loved that it had space to spread out our belongings and a full kitchen to use if needed. It was clean and comfortable. I liked that we could park right next to our room, convenient and free.

A couple of the pillows were hard as a rock. Also, only one roll of toilet paper and no bath soap. We had to make a trip to the store for these items. Our biggest complaint was the neighbors in the unit next to us. Seems like they may actually rent this room. They were loud and woke us up super early one morning yelling at each other. We tried to turn on the fan to muffle their screaming, but after literally two hours of shouting, we got out of bed and left to get some breakfast.

I liked the attentiveness to my needs. Mike was exceptional and the team.

My stay was almost like a honeymoon with the facility that I didn’t see what I dis not like.

The cottage is cute and the set up is pretty nice. The full kitchen is so convenient.

There is insects you have to spray for roaches and fire aunts cus they roam in the kitchen but I found out that very common over there so I just sprayed and left the kitchen light on. The bed isn’t to comfortable ether.

Price to quality relationship. Cozy, homey feeling. The cottage is equipped with everything you may need. Very calm and pretty neighborhood. Great contact and responsiveness from proprietor. Superb wi-fi with zero issues.

Some cleanliness issues, the cottage seemed to be cleaned only at surface levels, needed some deep cleaning in corner areas and around furniture. Luckily the proprietor and housekeeping responded to my request quickly and cleaned it up very nicely!

There is no smoking inside the apartment which is a great accomodation for people with allergies. That is priceless. It is very safe and quite in the yard and surrounding. I go for a walk every evening. Mike is very responsive and nice on the phone. Communication with him is stress free. I am able to cook for myself because I am experiencing allergies at the moment. The kitchen have eventhing a home need.

All of the pans/pots in my apartment are old. All scratched and the coated aluminum in the pans are peeling off which was a concern for me to cook in. Mike need to make sure all the pans/pots are up to date and safe for people with allergies to use it. The AC in my room is very loud even when I turned it on low. I found myself hard to fall asleep.

I enjoyed my stay at the cottage, and the location was awesome. I will be returning. I'm not a stranger because I moved from Miami in 2001. I lived in North Miami for 30 years. I live in NC now. I truly enjoyed my experience at the cottage. I will return next year for my family reunion.

Comfortable, clean and well-equipped apartment with a full kitchen. The property has been updated nicely and includes a courtyard and common areas for sunning or relaxing. The location is in an upscale area of north-central Miami close to many restaurants, markets and other services. We also like that all units are ground level with a private entrance and lots of free parking.
