We travel very often and have stayed in 100’s of hotels, resorts, etc. The James Madison Inn fits the remarkable town of Madison perfectly. The location near wonderful historic homes is ideal. Very good restaurants in 3 directions. The rooms are fantastic. Most rooms at different places are “kind of” clean. The James Madison Inn is the standard for clean. It felt like the room was made just for our visit. I recall laying on the comfortable bed, looking around, thinking this is EXACTLY how we should remodel our bedroom at home. Perfect.

The room was exceptionally well laid out and appointed. The breakfast area and available food was perfect. Location was also perfect in order to walk around idyllic Madison. Staff was extraordinarily knowledgeable and friendly!

My room was on the road side and the road noise was a bit of an issue. Next time I’ll request a room on the other side.

Keyless entry, beatifully decorated, Very clean, spacious room Convenient location, free parking, easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Coffee by kureig available anytime in breakfast room. Our room had nice semi-private patio area, some rooms had a balcony.

Be careful when entering & exiting the bathroom's shower/whirlpool. It's like 2 steps down from floor. A sign in bathroom said whirlpool feature was not working at this time. Wifi was available, but we often had poor signal in the room. We went to lobby or to breakfast room to get better wifi service.

The breakfast was quite okay and I appreciated that there were many fairly healthy items; I don’t like a lot of sweet food at breakfast. It was nice to have a selection of items, especially the warm croissants, and the toaster and microwave were really handy. If I were to suggest anything it might be that hard-boiled eggs would be welcome.

We love good coffee and while we don’t mind too much is the room coffee is a Keurig system, we look forward to fresh drip coffee with breakfast. But I know the pandemic changed many such things, alas!

Continental Breakfast was a little disappointing. I would have expected more, for example, having a waffle maker would have been nice.

Our lovely room was on Washington Street and with the traffic, it was noisy at night.

The Inn was beautiful & such a great location for the w downtown shopping we did. Cindy helped us with our accommodations and was very helpful & nice. We hope to come back & will definitely stay at the Inn again

The room was huge and gorgeous. The mattress was very comfortable. The ambience of the lobby was beautiful. The lady who checked us in was very nice.

The shower. The water didn’t drain properly. I believe it needs to be redone. Or at least scrub the grout with bleach.

We really loved the building itself and all the furnishings, the ease of entry with a code, many entrances to make it easy. Great parking. great location.

only a couple of tiny things: surprised there was not a hair dryer (that I found) and we had planned to use the advertised fitness room but it was not functional.

did not eat breakfast but seeing what they had was a lot of varitety. the basement it was in was beautiful very well done. had access to the outside that you can walk to a very good restraurant right across the parking lot.. awesome

have a little cocktail lounge.

The In is absolutely beautiful , the decor is beautiful , very comfortable and great location. The staff are so friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Madison and what the town offers.
