This 100+ year old hotel is all about location. Rates seemed very reasonable for the location. Around the corner from Northwestern Hospital and 2 blocks away from the main strip of magnificent mile. Use an app to find a nearby discounted parking space to save on valet or daily rates. Smaller rooms where 4 can feel tight if you have a lot of stuff... otherwise no issues. Decent beds. Rooms are otherwise fresh and up to date in style. The photo with the small bathroom sink is accurate for the basic/comfort double room we stayed in. Tone zone/gym has a water station for filling your bottles, treadmills, 2 peloton bikes, an elliptical (?), and free weights. Nice space that didn't seem to get used much. Vending machine and laundry also on 2nd floor. Laundry can be busy (only one washer and dryer).

It didn't bother us but it may be an annoyance for some... there is no service elevator for staff. They are very accommodating and patient, which has to go both ways if they are in their first. Upgrading to a stackable front load system would double the capacity of the laundry that can be done.

The best location - only a short walk away from most tourist attractions. First time I saw a Julius Meinl coffee maker in a hotel room and truly enjoyed my morning coffee - that alone deserves 5 stars Our room was small but very cute, clean, and had everything we needed. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Gym - nice, clean, and well equipped. They don't offer a typical hotel breakfast, but there's a very nice coffee shop in the lobby, and the room had a mini fridge and a microwave so you can always just bring your own food as an option. Definitely would recommend to others and would stay there again.

Valet parking was too expensive, so we had to find a more affordable spot a couple of blocks away and just walk to the hotel, which was fine and worked for us.

Great location, spacious and clean rooms, very comfortable beds, lovely friendly staff. Great coffee and pastries in reception cafe and there's a lovely bar/restaurant attached to the hotel. Really like the music they play in reception! Our safe wouldn't open at one point and the engineer was there within 5 mins to fix it.

Only a couple of issues - we weren't told when we checked in that you have to schedule in your room to be cleaned so we didn't get housekeeping at all for the 6 nights we stayed. However we were easily able to get clean towels, more toilet roll etc. The lifts were a bit of an issue. There are only 2 for 16 floors and only fit 5 people in each and although there wasn't too much waiting around usually, one lift broke for a day we were there so there was a huge queue and being on the 16th floor we didn't fancy walking. But again they fixed that pretty quickly.

The location is excellent, right in the heart of downtown Chicago, a block from the Magnificent Mile and a short walk to the Loop’s attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, and the Chicago Cultural Center. There are some great dining options nearby, including the restaurant attached to the hotel. I was very happy with my room. The bed was comfortable and had a generous supply of pillows. The water pressure in the shower was consistently good. The staff were fantastic — helpful, friendly, and cheerful.

The elevators are small and slow, but this isn’t a dealbreaker.

Good location. Helpful and friendly staff.

Very nice rooms but I didn’t like the bathroom door not really closing though it seems there is room for it to… not much privacy with the one they have… wish they had a little more space around the sinks I couldn’t even put a toothbrush on it very easy without it sliding into sink… would be nice to have a shelf or something to help put daily used items… could hear tracffic and ppl in hall but we went to bed late(12-1am) and usually was pretty quieter by then…

All the staff was friendly. From Cleaners to the Front Desk. Everyone was very Accommodating. Alicia the front desk host was very efficient and friendly Also, very helpful. Room was Clean, Loved the bed. Lots of pillows and comfortable,Love having a microwave and fridge, parking was convenient lots of restaurants. Riverfront to walk there was 10min. Magnificent mile was a block away . Chicagos style pizza 5 min walk, Popcorn place right across the street along with Coffee. that's a plus because GPS doesn't work well in the city. there's a whole underground street so GPS gets confused.

The City was louder then expected. Hotel not far from the hospital. hears all types of Sirens. my noise machine and ear plugs didn't help. Lost a lot of sleep 2am it really got loud horns and sirens. Bathroom door has frosted glass so when someone goes to bathroom at night it lights up the whole area. Waste baskets need to be bigger housekeeping never cleaned during our stay. So we had to use dry cleaning bag for garbage, not enough toilet paper for 3 night stay

The staff were very friendly and helpful, great conversationalists as well. The area is good, lots of food places in walking distance, as well as the hotel restaurant (that we didn't end up using). There's also a parking garage right across the street, though it's not ideal when staying longer than a night because the prices are pretty high. The room we received was very clean, and had a good view of the city. The bathroom was on the small side, but we were a group of three staying for a night, so it worked just fine.

The parking garage was expensive but that's not the hotels fault. I had a lovely experience!

The location was very good! It was super close to everything. The river was a walkable distance, and the beans, restaurants, and grocery stores were a 20-minute walk away. It was pretty noisy from the street and ambulance sirens, but I think that’s a regular situation for the Downtown location. We got a room on the 11th floor. They were able to check us in at 3.00 pm. I called to confirm. The room had two full beds, and it was spotless. The beds took up almost all the space. I wish it had been a little more spacious. The bed and cushions were very comfortable. The shower area looked new, and the water pressure/temperature was good. The sink wasn’t too big, but it was hard to wash hands and teeth. Parking: We parked at the Rush-Ohio-Wabash parking lot using the iParkit app. It was around $55 for two nights. The lot is seven minutes' walk from the hotel.

The location is perfect for getting around Chicago. Right off the miracle mile. The beds were firm but comfortable.

The room had 2 twins but it was so tight you couldn’t get between the walls and the beds. And the space between was just large enough for the nightstand. The plugs in the night stand must have been loose or the internal breaker kept tripping. There was a small reset button on the strip that would return power but immediately stop charging anything plugged into it. There was no place to sit or space to set anything off the floor.

The property is very well located, the rooms are small but it's okay if you're just going to spend time there to sleep, the staff is very dear

One day in the early morning they played music in a next room at full volume, they woke us up, we were a little scared because we heard someone outside saying that they were going to enter, we did not know if our room or where, it was not a pleasant moment and it was very strange, we felt insecure and we were only 3 women, the next day we filed the complaint at the reception and they only apologized that it was because there had been a concert or something like that, but that night later we could not sleep for fear that someone would enter our room, we never understood what happened, the location and the people who work there very friendly but this situation displeased us a lot
