The bed was very comfortable, pillows and sheets were excellent and I slept very well as a result. This is important when I choose a hotel. I'd stay here again just for the good quality bed. Bathroom was nice, good water pressure and temperature. Loved the Italian tile, and it was absolutely spotless. The sink needs new taps, they are rather worn and grungy, although they were clean. Some concerns, my room was apparently near the building utilities, and there was a vibration in the room when the AC or fan went on. I was on the 6th floor, and my windows looked directly into a solid concrete wall across a narrow alley way. No view of anything at all. The carpet and the wallpaper were very nice, well decorated. The chair was worn and frayed, needs to be replaced, and the small couch was ok. Refrigerator didn't get cold. Overall it was a nice quiet room and I enjoyed the stay.

warm refrigerator, room close to building utilities resulted in vibrations in the room, water taps are old and worn, no view at all except for the concrete wall of the building next door.

The staff (especially front desk staff Felicia) was extremely nice and helpful. She remembered my name when we checked out and that it was my bday. It was her personal attention that stood out above everything else. Location was great for our overnight stay and bed and room were comfortable.

No complaints.

The room was ample in size with all the amenities I needed, situated at the end of the hall so no neighbors on one side. I had partial views of the Hancock and Water Tower shops. I had a comfortable king bed with plenty of pillows, a couch, desk, and credenza with TV and mini-fridge. When I called the front desk to report issue with the TV, the engineer quickly (within minutes) came up to investigate and brought me a new TV. When I requested more towels, they were brought up warm and again within minutes. When I requested ice, that too was brought up within minutes. I was very pleased with front desk and staff service for the 7 nights I stayed. The breakfast seemed ample to me, but I partake very little of it. The location cannot be beat!! Close to Oak Street Beach, shops, restaurants, tourist attractions, etc.

I initially had some trouble finding an outlet that would allow me to charge my phone (they didn't seem to work with a phone adapter) but after a few days with this conundrum the power strip ended up working properly so I could plug in my adapter. The direct USB outlets didn't work consistently. The bathroom was a bit dark. I was hoping for more lighting in there, though the bedroom had ample lighting for my purposes though it was not bright.

It's about Location, we were lucky , if you like walking then I would say everything was in walking distance. Restaurants and cafeterias were literally around the corner. My first time in Chicago, the hotel provided all we needed since we were out most of the day. Safe location which is very important. The hotel is next to the Willis tower, a short walk to the lake and my favorite restaurant located below level of the Willis Tower was the Cheesecake Factory. Round the corner all the shops , malls and food places.

The reception area was small, and if you wanted to unwind in an armchair at the lounge area, I found this small & rather cramped , but that's ok , we got by. No bottled water was provided in the room actually no water at all in the room . Which I found strange since there was coffee /tea / kettle facilities. We asked for filtered water but we got tap. And the restaurants fee for a small bottle of water was tremendous in price, so we purchased from a supermarket round the corner. Also there was lack of staff.

Allison at the front desk was awesome when we were checking in and made a connection with our two kids very quickly over their shared love of Harry Potter and chatted to them about the store in Chicago and all the fun things there. Instantly got the girls very excited and it was a great way to kick off the trip. Kids were very excited to show her all the things they got the next day.

Breakfast was good but seemed to need another staff member or two as things kept running out, knives, milk, juice, takeaway cups, etc. the guy running it was happy to get you what was missing but he was running around and struggling to keep up. Breakfast was a good variety though.

I have to say that my stay at The Whitehall Hotel in Chicago was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The location couldn’t have been more perfect—centrally situated and within easy walking distance of all the major attractions, shopping, and dining the city has to offer. The staff were incredibly accommodating and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Although our original room was still occupied when we checked in, they quickly resolved the situation by upgrading us to a beautiful corner room. The views from that room were absolutely incredible—definitely a happy surprise that made our stay even more memorable. While the breakfast at the hotel looked delicious and well-presented, we chose to explore local eateries since we were only in Chicago for a short time and wanted to experience as much of the city as possible. Still, it was great knowing that an on-site option was available. The hotel itself had a classic charm, with a cozy yet upscale atmosphere that made it feel like a home away from home. From the cleanliness of the rooms to the professionalism of the staff, everything was top-notch. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to the city and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located place to stay in Chicago.

If I had to mention anything that could be improved, I’d suggest adding a water bottle filling station. After a long day exploring the city, I found myself without water and had to call the front desk to request that water be brought to the room. The staff was happy to help, but having a self-serve option would have been a convenient touch.

Great location—just a block from the Magnificent Mile and within walking distance to the Riverwalk and several major tourist attractions and very safe area. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly, and we really appreciated the complimentary breakfast and the convenient luggage storage service.

The only downside was that we weren’t informed of the breakfast schedule. It ends at 9:30 AM, which is earlier than most hotel breakfasts (usually 10 or even 10:30), and by the time we went down, there was nothing left. It would be helpful if they let guests know this in advance.

Amazing location and friendly staff, the young man who checked me and the young woman at the front desk were very attentive and kind. The breakfast was SO good, and there was plenty to eat even though it was busy. Everything smelled fresh. The bed and pillows were comfy, and having a smart tv with netflix was nice.

The wifi is truly terrible, but my cell service was great and the smart tv worked, so it wasn't a problem for me on this trip. I don't have any real negatives besides the wifi.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful. (I'm sorry I don't remember her name!) The location was great - we walked to the "bean", the Art Institute, and even the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum, but the bus is also very convenient. The breakfast was good - scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, cut up fruit, miso, and even bao. Many restaurants around, but I went to the Wow Bao in the Water Tower across the street twice for their soup! The room has a fridge, and we were given a microwave upon request.
