High quality staff and hotel rooms, Excellent service and breakfast. Location central and better value that other central hotels. Short walk to lake shore; to excellent shopping (Michigan Avenue), Easy walk to Millennium Park and Art Institute (The very best Art Gallery in the world !!), The room 1201 was a very large suite with the best bathroom I have ever known in the many hotels I have stayed in all across the world. The air conditioning was good , responsive to any minor adjustment so very good for night and day comfort.

The property was amazing! My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and were shown the ultimate levels of hospitality. The location is GREAT because it is central to shopping areas and so many attractions. I travel quite a bit and by far Sofitel had the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! The staff showed us every courtesy and made us so comfortable. The boxed water stocked in our fridge everyday was an appreciated touch. The stay was so wonderful it was lamentable to leave. I will be staying here every time I visit Chicago!

It's a very good hotel located in the North area of downtown. We wanted to explore that area and the location was perfect for it. The room was clean with a spacious bathroom and comfy bed. Our room was cleaned right after the first night. It was a nice surprise because all our stuff was put nicely away. There is a parking lot right next to the hotel, but it's full all the time. You need to get an app like SpotHero and book your spot, which we did. The price was much cheaper than if we would pay for valet parking. Also, the area, Sofitel is located, has tons of restaurants, cafes, and shopping stores. If you want to explore the North part of Chicago, I would highly recommend staying at Sofitel.

I recently stayed at the Sofitel Hotel in Chicago and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is centrally located in the upscale Gold Coast neighborhood, surrounded by great shopping and notable restaurants. I always prefer hotels close to subway stations, and the Red Line is just a 5-minute walk away, making it very convenient. As someone who is very active and food-conscious, I was thrilled to find a brand new Whole Foods and an Equinox gym both just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, and the rooms were spacious, very clean, and stocked with luxurious Balenciaga bathroom supplies. This was my first visit to Chicago to see friends, and if I visit again, I will gladly stay at Sofitel.

The location was perfect

The concierge who checked me in was almost as rude as can be because he couldn't find my name. Basically, ask my name I told him he also had my ID in his hand and said I was not in the system. Kinda a booking fault because my first and last names are backward. Anyway, he asked for a confirmation number I began to tell him and he looked at me as if I was lying and asked to see it for himself. I didn't let it spoil my day he just needs some customer training I'm a paying customer not looking for anything free just respect. Like I was below him. But I will not stay here again it's thousands of hotels that will appreciate my money.

Room was well-appointed, bed and pillows comfortable, complimentary water, clean, nice amenities, the hotel smells good. Location was perfect, walking distance to the best stores and restaurants. Staff polite and attentive. I cannot comment on the restaurant because we didn't try it.

I would consider including slippers in the amenities. Also, it says on Booking that a 125 usd damage deposit will be charged and returned. But I was charged 250 (i stayed 2 days, so i am not sure if this is a daily charge, so be aware of that).

Very cozy hotel, everything very clean and the staff super friendly. The views are really incredible. The next time I visit Chicago, I will definitely stay here again!

The property is immaculate, the location is everything, the room is gorgeous, and the staff is absolutely amazing! There's concierge at this property and they will take care of everything for you. From bringing your bags up to your room, your food up to your room if you door dash, arranging transportation, like everything. They were very friendly and welcoming when we got there. I will definitely be staying here again the next time we come to Chicago to watch the cubs!

We loved everything about the property!

As soon as we checked in, I could tell that the experience was going to be excellent. The staff greeted us with a friendly "bonjour" and offered us information and assured us that we would have a great stay. My partner and I stayed here as a "staycation" for my birthday, and as soon as we entered our room, I was surprised with a delicious plate of macarons with a Happy Birthday message! Despite being from Chicago, I never explored the Gold Coast around the Sofitel Hotel. The location is close enough to the action of the mag mile without the overstimulating traffic and riff-raff that is common with the downtown hustle and bustle. Staying here increased my love and awe for the city that I was born in!

I honestly couldn't come up with anything that I didn't like. Literally I had such an amazing experience, I could not find a single thing to complain about. Yes, like all high-quality hotels, it's fairly expensive, but the value for the money was definitely there.
