Location is great. I found my room clean and comfy, with very nice view towards lake Michigan. I seem to have gotten little bit of an upgrade to my room, which was nice. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Good shutters to keep light out at night (mornings).

Simple water kettle in the room would be nice (I don't really like using coffee maker to make my tea), as well as a water cooler in the lobby for hotel guests (water bottles were provided for free on request though). I would have preferred to fill up my water bottle with cold/filtered water. There is an ATM in the lobby though, which is convenient. There was still a little bit of street noise on 16th floor but nothing to keep me from having a good sleep.

Room was clean, cosy and chic. Perfect size and had a terrific view.

When I went to the lobby to relax and do some work, several of the hotel staff were gathered at the front desk conversing loudly and using some unprofessional language. It was very distracting.

The location is fantastic! We stay here almost every time we visit Chicago. The rooms are always spacious and clean. On this trip, both of our rooms overlooked Michigan Ave, which made for some great people-watching.

Everything was fine, but I had expected a king-size bed and wasn't particularly pleased with the queen bed.

Perfect location on the corner of Michigan Avenue and walking distance of all Chicago highlights. Big room and very clean with comfortable beds. Nice walk in shower with good water pressure. In room safe to store valuables.

Bathroom is extremely small and toilet is positioned in an absolute ridiculous way. If you can't bend your knees it's impossible to sit on the toilet. Hotel elevators too small for luggage, no help from staff on getting luggage to the room. Valet parking badly organized, you first need to go to the second floor of the hotel to check in and then go back to ground floor to get your luggage out of the car. Valet staff completely useless and not customer friendly. You expect top service for usd 72 a night.

Amazing location. We walked nearly everywhere - Navy Pier, Riverwalk, Studebaker Theatre, Art Institute. Lots of great restaurants nearby. We were upgraded to a suite (not sure why but we're very happy) on the 18th floor. There were views out every window and the accommodations were top notch. It's an old hotel so there's a few things people may not like that prefer the big chains. But we love unique places. We had seen reviews about sirens and the noise. The Magnificent Mile hotels in this area of N Michigan Ave are near a hospital so sirens are frequent. But we were OK with that since we knew we'd be in a big lively city. Brought ear plugs. Staff was friendly. We'd come back!

Hard to think of anything!

My mom and I came here for my best friends graduation from the University of Chicago! It was fairly close to CTA lines and the metra. We were able to take buses to get us closer to the other public transportation as well. It was a very central location giving us easy walking access to activities in the city, and again we were right by the bus. It was the perfect size for my mom and i, the two beds were wonderful.

The rooms were fairly small, definitely wouldn’t have worked for my family but for just my mom and I, it was perfect. It was a bit musty, could use new hallway carpet but what does that matter so that was no problem!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The location was ideal—just a short walk to restaurants and major attractions, yet far enough from the hustle and bustle to feel peaceful and relaxing. The hotel was beautifully maintained, very clean, and had a luxurious feel throughout. The rooms were on the smaller side but thoughtfully designed and still very comfortable. Despite the compact space, everything felt cozy and well-appointed. A perfect blend of convenience, tranquility, and quality. Highly recommended!

Being in downtown Chicago, valet parking was our only option, which made accessing our car a bit inconvenient and added to the cost. That said, it’s understandable given the area, and it didn’t take away from the overall experience. A great choice if you're looking for a stylish, well-located place to stay in the city!

The room was excellent for the price. Great shower. Firm bed. I had a view that looked north over Michigan Avenue. The price was amazing for a great hotel in this location. The staff was very nice. Fast elevators, which is rare. Very nice lobby area. Starbucks coffee is in the room. I work on the road, and my desk was kinda small. I just needed a bit more elbow room, so I worked on a table in the lobby. There is a bar in the lobby. Decent WiFi. The location on Michigan Avenue was awesome. I was just a few blocks from the Chicago River. If the price is right, I'll stay here again.

I stayed for three nights, but I can't think of anything I didn't like. Oh yeah. There wasn't soap in my room. A roomkeeping staffer was in the hallway when I arrived, and she gave me some soap and was super nice about it. I didn't even mind when a window washer was outside my 11th-floor room.

The hotel is in a fantastic location for the Magnificent Mile as well as the Loop. Many buses stop outside the hotel, including at least one that offers quick access to northern parts of Chicago (and perhaps other places as well). The hotel has an old-world charm (some might perceive this as dated, but I rather liked the character) and I found my room/bed to be very comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate. I appreciated the modern, high-quality shower and the provision of a coffee machine in the room. All things considered, the value for money was good.

The free Wi-Fi was surprisingly poor; I even had to find a separate place to work on one day as I had some urgent tasks to do and I could not maintain a stable connection in the room. Staff were polite but - and perhaps this is partly because I only saw them at check-in and check-out, because the lobby is not on the same floor as the entrance - not exactly warm. I suppose it's a big hotel in a busy part of town, but my two interactions both felt more "efficient" than genuine. The carpet looked rather old and rather in need of a deep-clean.

Great price! Location was very good too! Room was simple but felt very old? Beds were nice and clean, air felt good! Bathrooms very clean but small.

The room felt haunted. The building felt so old but everything worked well. Outside the lobby lots of homeless people orbited the area at night. I hated the old carpeted floors.
