The Primrose was truly one of the best places I have stayed. The Inn itself is so adorable and the room we had was gorgeously adorned with an electric fireplace, jacuzzi tub, king bed. Everything was immaculate and the bed was so comfy. There isn't anything negative I can think of. Brandon, the Inn keeper, was very welcoming and patient in explaining the area and giving us tips on where to go/eat. He was wonderful. Additionally, shout out to the chef, Reckel, who is restaurant quality. The breakfasts made by Reckel were so delicious and he had such a friendly and kind spirit during our short interactions. I wish I could have tasted more than just his breakfast foods! The Primrose is in a prime location..it can't get any better if you are looking for a place within walking of food/drink/grocery and it is a short drive to Acadia park. Check out Geddy's for lobster and food and make sure to hike the beehive, if able! Thunderhole was meh tbh because we just couldn't figure out the right time to go, and when it isn't perfect tide, it is very underwhelming. Acadia is such a beautiful park and it makes all the difference to stay in a wonderful place like The Primrose!

Top marks local hospitality - very friendly and knowledgeable staff, breakfast was delightful (cooked to order - choice between a savory and a sweet option, different every day) and there are free treats to go (so much delicious cake! which is so welcome when exploring the park). The house is pretty and the room was well equipped. I'd go there again if I visited Bar Harbor. Parking is directly at the property.

Worth knowing there is no elevator, but there’s only two floors. The location is a bit off-centre, about a 10 min walk to the shops and restaurants, but you do get a quieter stay.

Amazing Stay at The Primrose! My girlfriend and I had the most incredible weekend stay at The Primrose, and we can’t wait to return! From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt immediately charming, cute, and cozy — it was like stepping into a home away from home. The entire space was spotless, and the cozy ambiance made our stay feel extra special. The rooms were incredibly spacious, even bigger than we had anticipated, which was such a nice surprise. We were also so happy with the number of outlets available — as we travel with a lot of electronics, this was a big plus! Having robes in the room was a lovely touch, and the bed was so comfortable, we slept soundly throughout our stay. Plus, the added seating area in the room made it feel even more homey. Breakfast was absolutely incredible! Chef Reckel treated us to tiramisu French toast, frittata, quiche, and Belgian waffles — each dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. We were so happy to have breakfast included, and the quality was beyond what we could have hoped for. The hotel also had convenient features like AirPlay on the TV, which made it easy to watch whatever we wanted. A special shout-out to Brandon, the general manager, who was so friendly, kind, and welcoming. He truly made our stay even better, and we could tell he genuinely cares about the guests and the hotel’s atmosphere. What made this trip even more memorable is that we got engaged during our stay! The Primrose will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we will definitely be back in the future. Thank you to everyone at The Primrose for making our stay unforgettable!

Loved the primrose. Beautiful. Clean. Great staff. Great parking. A bit pricey but that is expected during peak season Our only complaint or piece of advice would be to have some type of drinks on the premises, especially in the evenings. We were very thirsty when we got back to the hotel and there was nothing to drink at all and no one to DoorDash it or bring it It would’ve been great if we could’ve even purchased a Coke or a bottle of water or something, but although there was was a refillable water bottle machine and we didn’t have a water bottle with us

The breakfast was excellent. The Inn offered complementary muffins and candy by the front door. The common rooms were quaint. There was a nice garden, which was a pleasant relief from the crowded Bar Harbor summer scene, and it was nice to be able to sit outside on the porch. Although check-in was a bit of a hassle, the staff were friendly.

The rooms were crowded and not very comfortable, although the beds were comfortable. The whole place seemed a bit crowded. The price may or may not have been in line with comparable places in Bar Harbor, but I would not pay $500 a night again for what was on offer.

Great location, excellent staff, breakfast was very good. Loved the afternoon treats.

I wish we would have booked a more spacious room (the one we were in was very small) and I wish breakfast would have been offered in a slightly larger time window. We had to wake up for breakfast when our activities didn’t require that. Also please add a luggage rack/stand to your rooms! As a pregnant women that would have been helpful. :)

Outstanding Inn! Every part of our 4 night stay was wonderful. Clean, large room with very comfortable bed & two relaxing chairs to watch TV or read. Included breakfast was delicious with two choices each morning. Never the same thing twice. Never ending coffee and tea available. Afternoon tea time had two snacks that were bakery good! Even a glass of wine if you desired. Every staff person was friendly and helpful. Suggestions made for sites to see and places to eat were great. Assigned parking space. Walking distance to everything.

Nothing not to love!

The location was perfect for us, the breakfasts exquisitely wonderful…but the staff sets your inn apart. They were kind and generous, they offered great advice for our stay…and represented the best of hospitality and welcome. A special shout-out to Neddie and Em who were so gracious and set just the right tone for our much-anticipated vacation!

Brandon was super friendly, accommodating, and helpful with his suggestions on where to eat and things to do. The breakfasts were incredibly enjoyable as Raquel (the chef) gave us something different to look forward to each morning. The room was adorably decorated and clean with a comfortable bed. We would absolutely stay here again in the future.

Location was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and service was excellent. Charming place to stay with lots of outdoor porch areas to relax. Loved the property, especially the plantings.

A mirror in the room in addition to the one in the bathroom would be a big improvement for two people getting ready for the day. Another bench or chair instead of display cases in the area adjacent to the bedroom area would be much more useful.
