Nothing fancy here, but clean and super friendly staff. Another thing that made our stay fantastic. We actually booked a day sooner than we thought we had. We were on a bicycle riding trip around Wisconsin and headed for the UP on our way home to lower Michigan. We thought we had booked Jul 11 - 12. In error we booked 10-11th. The morning of the 11th, the property manager called us to see if all was well, as we hadn’t checked in the prior night. We were on our way that afternoon expecting to stay 11-12th. Our bad. The manager was able to change our reservation and accommodate us without issue. Highly recommend this hotel!

The location is wonderful. I’m disabled and they don’t have an elevator so I had to stay on the first floor and they were very accommodating when we arrived there (late at night) and could not be on the second floor like we were booked bc of my service dog (dogs stay on the second floor) but they quickly corrected the situation and got us a room on the first floor towards the exit to make our stay easier. The room and place in general is very clean as well.

I wish it had an elevator but like I said they worked with us about not being able to use stairs.

Very clean facilities. When we checked in you could see a housekeeper folding clean laundry in the laundry room. When we walked in the room, it smelled like clean bed linens. The furniture was not new but was in really good shape, especially compared to other hotels, even nicer hotels. When we left or came back through the day, we caught glimpses of housekeepers cleaning the rooms and they were scrubbing those showers!

The shrubbery outside could use a little trim but other than that, it was very neat and clean.

Ishpeming is a perfect stopping point as we travel to visit family. We have stayed at the Magnuson Hotel many times and it is a wonderful value. Our favorite feature is their beds - so comfortable! I sleep like a log after driving all day!

Disappointed that they don't have a hot tub in their pool area. But that doesn't stop us from staying there. Breakfast is very basic - yogurt, packaged rolls, toast and bagels, etc. But if you want something more, there are many restaurants and fast food places close by.

This motel is an “oasis in the desert”. Coming from the western U.P. it is the first sign of life after driving through 100 miles of non-existent “towns”. We found it to be clean, safe, and comfortable.

Breakfast was pretty basic with no waffles or other hot items. In fact, the hottest thing going was a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats. Still, it was an excellent stay overall.

Close to the Gem and Mineral show. Enjoyed the iron mining museums, the quaint town of ishpeming, Ish ice cream store, Bucky’s Restaurant, and close to the lake shore. The hotel clean and comfortable on the inside, well kept pool, staff were personable and efficient. The room remained quiet despite road work outside.

The outside of the building looked shabby compared to the interior. Needed landscaping, and cleaning

I liked the location. Also I thought the continental breakfast was very good.

Nothing big, the building is older but generally well maintained. The A/C unit in our room, 118, I believe needs to be serviced as it could just barely keep the room comfortable. The weather wasn’t especially warm so I assume if the outside temperature was higher it would probably have trouble. The “public” areas are clean and appear to be well maintained.

The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the continental breakfast being offered. Great location for visiting the Marquette area, and more reasonable pricing at this location is what pulled us in two pay for two nights of lodging. It was strictly used for sleeping only.

Our shower had issues with both the drain not working and the decorative part of the knob pulled off. Hotel is dated to the late 1980’s. The staff needed quite a bit of cream and sugar poured on them to sweeten them up. Felt like we were a bother that we were even staying with them. Also, water was running from up above like a regenerator or water recycler for several hours at a time starting at midnight and kept my husband awake both nights until it stopped.

Good value! It's an older hotel, no thrills or anything fancy but it was clean and the staff were really nice. We stayed three nights. The beds were comfortable, the hotel was so quiet at night (we were on 2nd floor). There was a little noise from the highway but nothing that kept us awake. There is a grocery store within walking distance and good restaurants nearby and downtown. We commuted to Marquette to visit family and it was a pretty quick 20 minute drive! We would definitely stay here again.

It was clean and the room we stayed in was very big. The staff is friendly. There was a continental breakfast and good coffee with decent size cups.

Even though our room was a nonsmoking room it still smelled like cigarette smoke. But I’m super sensitive to smoke. A little Lysol spray helped.
