The location, the views, the beach and deck. We loved our balcony and the space in our rooms. The staff are wonderful and friendly.

Just a few upgrades would really impact the quality of the stay- replace carpeting in the units with tile or faux wood to get rid of the constant musty/mildewy smell; replace noisy ACs with quieter and more efficient split units. It would be great if there were a small cafe or restaurant on the premises; remember pavement if used coffee and cups.

We did not have breakfast. The location of the lodge is beautiful as are the surrounding grounds. We stayed only one night as our final destination for the weekend was Wolf Lake Ranch, an annual trip we take. As home is about 350 miles away we always stop somewhere between Muskegon and Ludington Thursday night. This year we chose Michillinda and will probably stop here next year as well.

Everything was great. The only thing I would recommend would be Kleenex in either bedroom or bathroom. Although it was not much of an inconvenience for us as we stayed only one night neither of us could make phone calls or send texts. I assume it was due to the remote location. We had breakfast Friday morning in Whitehall and were able to both of those things.

The first night due to the unscreened part of a window and a light left on we had an infestation of little black bugs. We spent time killing probably around 100. We didn't know who to contact after the office closed. Luckily the weren't a biting insect. The next day the gave us a larger, very nice room across the hall. The view of the lake from our room was great. All in all we were pleased with our second room. Could use larger toilets.

My wife and I are not large people but the toilets were small and crowded up against the wall.

The place was beautiful. Great lake views, very quiet and clean. Relaxing and private. Cabin C was a great cabin for my family, large his and hers sink and bathroom. Rooms are good size as well. Bbq area was a plus and the common cooking area helped a lot. Weather was kinda chilly so we did not get to use tennis/ and pickle ball court. And unfortunately the pool was also not ready at the time of our stay. Would definitely come back!

what a happy little accident that I found this place. I felt like I was transported back in time. A simpler time. I wasn’t expecting to love this place so much. i honestly wish I would’ve had more time here. it has so much to do and such a family atmosphere. everyone I encountered was kind. there were lots of families there. it was fun to hear children playing and running around. It was a throw back to my childhood. at first I thought I would be disappointed about no tv’s, but honestly I was too busy to watch anyway. I was just in the moment the whole time.

I didn’t like that I had zero cell service and internet was spotty. which normally it wouldn’t have been a big deal as it’s nice to turn off everything. However, I have an elderly mother that I could not check on, while I was there. I had to drive a few miles down the road to get service.

The location is beautiful. There's so many amenities to stay busy. Very relaxing. It has great views of Lake Michigan. The property is maintained very well. Some of the wild flowers and grass could use some trimming along walkways to make for an easier walk to the viewing areas, which gives you beautiful views of Lake Michigan and evening sunsets. The lower viewing deck area is so relaxing to watch the water and listen to the waves. There is beach access from the deck but not the best beach it sits under an unstable dunes and the beach looks a little scary with old watered tree roots and metal pieces on the beach as well as in the water. They do have signs posted warning you. You are able to take a swim or get your feet wet just be careful. If you want to swim I would go down the road about 10 minutes to the Duck Lake State Park Area or Lake Michigan road side beach it's just a bit safer. Make sure to either pack food to cook in the shared kitchen, grill or warm up in your room microwave and fridge or drive 15 minutes or more to either the Muskegon or surrounding areas to buy food. I will be back, it's a beautiful property.

The small fire pits. I was expecting large in ground fire pits....but that's nothing you still have fire pits to use...

The property and location! Everything was clean. Loved that it felt like "we took a step back in time".

The doors in the annex are paper thin. While this was "to be expected" given the nature of the property - it was challenging to keep the our mid-elementary kids courteous to our neighbors. The annex is NOT suitable for families with small children/ babies.

Well kept, gorgeous lake views, ample amenities

Was unaware there’s no efficiency kitchen in room but it all worked out using chalet facility for our meal prep, and no one else was using it. Annex Room 20 space was very tight for our group, but we went managed and thanks to perfect weather, we were outside a lot.

The location was amazing! We loved the ability to go to the pool or the beach, and the amount of activities for the whole family to enjoy was great. It was just our small family, but we realized this is a great place to bring the extended family for a fun stay. We will definitely return to Michillinda Lodge Resort!

The photos didn't show how great the place was. We are blown away when we made it up the driveway into a clearing and saw the extent of the resort. Besides that, it was an awesome stay.

The location is excellent. The view of the lake is ideal. The rating would have been excellent if it weren't for the floors.

We didn't like that we could hear every step of the people who were staying on the 2nd floor. It's a wooden building and floors make noise. Try to book a room on the 2nd floor and you'll enjoy your stay.
