The owners/staff were very pleasant, polite, cheerful. The price was very good, especially for a Friday, one night stay, and since there was a chili cook off in town that weekend. It's a little out of town but a very doable walk. (We are in our 70's.) They had a 5 seat + driver, golf cart "taxi" service, tips appreciated. It's fast. clean and comfortable. Being away from the main, downtown area, it is quiet at night. The office has a little Mom and Pop kind of a grocery store, in case you forgot anything or need a snack. Our room was small, but very clean and comfortable. We have stayed there before and would stay there again.

They have free coffee in the office but it doesn't open until 8 am! It is good, though. This is a problem throughout Virginia City. It is hard to get coffee, or breakfast, before 8 am. The one place I know of which is open at that hour is all the way at the other end of town. But this particular day, they were "temporarily closed." If you are an early riser, you will not like this.

The staff who checked me in were very friendly without being invasive. The room was nicely updated - modernized but still had a nice antique feel in keeping with the entire town's theme. I loved seeing the sunrise over the mountains from my window! Excellent location in a quiet part of town but easy walk to all the activity.

The heater turned on in the middle of the night a couple times with a tick tick tick sound that woke me up.

We’ve had an amazing stay! Both hotel owners were so kind and so helpful, they really made our stay extra special. They gave us a lot of good recommendations and even showed us around town. We are used to stay at higher end hotels, so the rooms are not big but it’s very clean and you’ve got everything you need. To be honest, we loved it just as much if not more because of the personal touch! Theres also a small store at the office which has plenty to offer. We would really recommend staying a night at Virginia city to get the full experience, and if you do stay at the Sugarloaf!

Nothing we absolutely loved it!

The staff was kind and laid back. Very prompt service throughout our stay.

Only one parking spot per room is alloted. When we returned to our place after 5, we would not have our alloted spot, but the staff allowed us to use the 15 min loading spot those nights.

Candace and Charly are lovley hosts. The Motel has a little Market that has everything you need. Our room has pretty new interieur and a wonderful design. That by the way did the hosts on their own. In total just a wonderful place to stay. We´re looking forward for our next visit at Sugarloaf Mountain Motel in Virginia City.

When we pulled up, we were not impressed by the property. The office is inside the little store where we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful "staff". The room was a surprise! Although small, it was nicely decorated with a modern bathroom, a refrigerator and microwave. No desk or chairs for sitting though. There's not enough room for that and two queen beds. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. It's half a mile from the center of town, so if you want to go to the bars and eateries, it's a short hike. On the plus side, there is less street noise at night.

Our only complaint is the thin walls. We could hear half of our neighbor's phone conversations pretty clearly, and they had two small children, so pretty non-stop noise while they were in their room.

It’s perfect! The nicest staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking to! Gladly gave recommendations on things to do, seemed genuinely interested in their patrons. I absolutely adore Smokey the cat, IYKYK. Location is not even 1/2 a mile from the boardwalk. This was my second stay and I hope to be back again soon!

Super close to town and a super comfy vibe

It seems that the owners live next door which they had a lot of crud over flowing from their yard. Random junk in front of the motel that guests just don’t need to have a view of. I’d say they need to really clean up, then it’s an absolutely perfect experience!

Location is perfect, nicely remodeled, clean, quiet, well insulated and cozy. They allow dogs for a $25 fee and parking directly in front of your room. It's close to town and quiet.

Nothing really. It was ideal for 1 person and a dog .

This was a perfect little room for our one night stop over, located at the top of Virgina City it’s in a great spot away from the main hustle and bustle but easy walking distance. Nice little mini mart on site as well. Would totally and honestly recommend staying there.👌👍🏻😁
