We loved the adorable rustic room. We ended up being there during a pretty good snow storm, and the room was extremely warm and cozy with our gas fireplace. We loved the room decor, the "step back in time" feel to it, and the beautiful views outside our windows. We ate both of our dinner meals during our stay downstairs in the tavern, and it was great- delicious food and such a fun vibe. We played trivia one night and listened to live music. We really enjoyed our stay and will absolutely be back!

I truly can't think of any complaints. Maybe the lighting in the bathroom isn't ideal for women putting makeup on, but it's fine, I made it work. The TV kept randomly changing channels on us but we thought it was funny, like someone was pranking us, and we weren't paying close attention to the TV anyway, it was more just for background noise. I mean, don't go here if you're looking for a modern, updated, upscale/high end resort- this is not that! If you're chill and laidback, enjoy the old rustic vibes of an old mountain inn, and hanging with fun people who just came off the slopes and are looking to have a good time- then this is definitely the place for you!

It's a restaurant on the first floor and rooms on the upper floors. Our room was on the third floor. You enter into the foyer which is separate from the bedroom. It was clean and spacious. They have a beautiful garden at the back which leads to the parking (it's free). There's coffee and tea available all day. Access is through the restaurant. So, we had dinner there on our last night. We enjoyed the food and the live music. Price was very reasonable. I would stay here again.

Well, upon check-in, the nice lady mentioned that there are bears and I got scared. We didn't see any so it's all good ;)

I stayed here many years ago and always liked staying here because of its quaint and homey atmosphere. Not a place to stay if you like modern, sterile facilities. And this place was nice and quiet, because there weren’t many other guests.

They have been having a major staffing shortage, so there was actually no staff around when I first checked in. There was only a slip of paper with my name on it, directing me to my room, where the room key was. Also, the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday, so I went over to the nearby Shannon Door Pub, which I really liked. Actually went there both nights of my stay, for good food, a nice beer selection, and nightly live music. Upon checking out, I just left the key in the room, as instructed. First time I experienced so-it-yourself check in and out service, but I really didn’t mind that, because the rest of the stay was great.

Quaint old inn above a tavern/restaurant. Beautiful outdoor seating area. Great location in mountains for day trips. Nice coffee service downstairs. Dinner menu looked very good. Lots of options. Extensive drink menu.

April afternoons get warm w sun beating down so room would get warm. Air not installed yet. Would have loved breakfast options. Slept with windows open and street could be a bit noisy. Suspect rooms facing the back don’t have this problem. Drinks are pricey.

The Wildcat Tavern was a Wonderfull time for us. The Tavern is a real fun spot with a lot of live music going on so, after a day of sight seeing we would hit the tavern for an entertaining evening and a very good meal. Tuesday is Hoot Night (local musicians all take turns). Real good time. Nestlenook Farm just a short distance away, also part of the Jackson, NH experience.

All good!! Nothing bad to report.

It's a classic New England Inn with rustic furnishings and feel. The bed, bathroom and room in general was comfortable. Also, the location was ideal for our plan to Nordic ski.

Primarily it was the check in experience. After a rough drive through a snow squall, we arrived to find the front door locked. I noticed a back door so walked around to find that door open. Unfortunately there was no one in the office and initially no one responded when we loudly yelled "hello, anyone here!". The number provided went to voice mail. Soon another guest did come out and was very helpful in giving us a direct number he happened to know of the owner. Again, voice mail, but a woman did call me back within a few minutes and explained that our check-in sheet was hanging on the wall and keys were in the rooms. Also, it was unfortunate that the Tavern was closed both days we were there because we had planned on eating dinner, having drinks and also eating breakfast there.

This was a return trip to the Wildcat. We come back often as we love the vibe both of the Inn and the Tavern Staff are friendly and service is good. You feel like a local at the Tavern as everyone is friendly. The rooms are clean and comfy especially with the gas stove.

Some times it’s hard to find the staff during off hours. It would be helpful if they left a sign at the check in desk to ring a bell or call them. I wanted to buy some merchandise but no one was available It would be nice if they had some simple breakfast options such as pastries or cereal.

We checked in late and the on-site manager was there to greet us. He even offered to help with luggage and offered us great beers. More than accommodating and welcoming. The room was clean, the bathroom was spotless. The air conditioner kept the room nice and cool. Definitely a cozy feel. Easy off street parking and perfect location to everything. Way better than staying in North Conway.

The bed for the room was very soft, fyi if you prefer a more firm mattress.

Love the location. The nightly entertainment is great. It’s very rustic and quaint. There is a back garden that is beautiful and lit up at night. People gather around a fire pit and there is music out there in the summer.

The only thing I was missing was coffee in the room and an outlet in the bathroom. But if that’s all, I’ll take it. Short walk, very short walk to an amazing breakfast place.

This was our first time staying at the Wildcat Inn & Tavern, and we found the room to be clean, charming, and comfortable. The location is also great. We hiked nearby Mt. Madison (30 minutes away), walked around Echo Lake State Park (15 minutes away), and ate at nearby restaurants for breakfast and dinner (all within walking distance or a short drive).
