Our room was VERY spacious, particularly for New York. Lots of room to spread out and work, if that is part of your plan. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good and a real bargain for New York. Sitting areas were plentiful and spacious and the always-available cucumber-infused water was delicious. The hotel is wonderfully quiet, for those seeking a quiet haven.

Fitness room is VERY dark and should be brightened up. It would be great if coffee was available throughout the day. Location is a bit distant from the local restaurants and the fact that the hotel sits at the edge of an industrial area means you can hear the trucks early in the a.m. but it’s still worth the stay.

The bed was so comfortable and the room had everything I needed. The hotel was stylish, lovely art in the room. I didn't know there was a gym and was delighted there was one. The location was very close to whom I was visiting so it was perfect but also a lovely treat for my holiday. Massive 2 tv's in the room, couch, great wifi

We love the quirky and thoughtful decor. The designer created a comfortable ‘at home’ vibe. HNH is a converted warehouse. We had a fantastic 2 room apartment with an outdoor balcony, overlooking the skyline. All amenities to make your stay were provided. Way more than normal! The staff were friendly, location great, very much in the middle of a neighbourhood. We would stay again.

Two suggestions only. The space either side of the bed was tight to move in, with no room for a bedside table. Maybe a small shelf could be installed. Also, there was only a small set down shelf in the bathroom, so we had to put our bathroom bags on the floor.

Great meeting place to be with family who live close and have smaller spaces. The lounge is so nice ! Lovely room with the two balconies. Large rooms. Great service and super clean !

The price of the room should have included a king size bed. Also booking thru booking.com, we were supposed to get a ride from the airport to the hotel - several attempts to contact and make this happen failed. All I received were requests for more information. If the hotel itself would match the price, they wouldn’t need to pay a commission to booking.com. First night in a large room in the lower level - not fond of that room and I would ask to be moved.

We stayed in a balcony room that faced the front of the hotel. The balcony was huge by NYC standards and had a table and chairs which was awesome. The room was clean and had sufficient AC as it it was BOILING hot in NYC while we were there. My husband said the gym was great, as well.

The lighting in the room could have been better. It also would have been nice to have a mirror in the main room (outside the bathroom) so two people could get ready simultaneously. Lastly, another shelf for toiletries in the bathroom would have been great, as the soap dispenser was right above the only shelf in the bathroom and dripped soap on everything.

We had a loft suite which was bigger than we expected, especially for New York so we were delighted, it was a great size , the hotel is very cool and nicely decorated and designed pretty laid back but well done staff were lovely

Our suite was on the ground floor which was a bit odd as it was called a ‘ loft suite ‘ The issue with this was the noisy traffic which bellowed through our room in the middle of the night at times , as our suite was right on the corner of a cross street It wasn’t all the time at night ,but definitely happened a few times when we were asleep which woke us up unfortunately However on balance this didn’t completely spoil our stay it was such a great room and hotel we would definitely stay here again And to be honest we could have complained and moved to an upstairs room which might have helped ,but we didn’t know until after our first night so didnt bother If we stay again though we will definitely ask for a room on a higher floor which might help , but it is New York after all

I had a very pleasant stay at the Henry Norman Hotel. The location was excellent, situated in a lovely neighborhood with plenty of nice shops and convenience stores just a short walk away. The room was impressively spacious and well-appointed, with all the expected amenities and some thoughtful extras. I especially appreciated the well-stocked minibar and the overall comfort of the space. Breakfast was fairly average, but everything else more than made up for it. The overall experience was relaxing and enjoyable. I would not hesitate to stay here again on a future trip to New York.

During check in in the evening the male receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. While checking out there was another female receptionist which had a very weird and condescending tone. Other than that all was good.

The room was spotless and the quality of the linen was great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The suite felt very homey yet luxurious.

The nearest subway station is a little more than a 10 minute walk which isn't great but not too bad at all.

Everything - a character building with interesting decor. Helpful friendly staff. Loft suite was huge for myself and adult son. Heating and cooling was great. A good gym and sauna. Lots of complimentary touches. Easy flat walk to subway station on Manhattan Avenue that's then an easy 20 minute commute to Manhattan. The area (Greenpoint, Williamsburg etc) is full of great bars, cafes, restaurants, cheap eats, parks, Banks and great shopping. Young residential area - few Tourists. I've stayed in Manhattan many times but wouldn't again with this hotel the much better option.

We stayed in the Penthouse Loft (Roof Deck) and the view was stunning - we could see the whole of Manhattan including the Empire State & Crysler. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Quirky but lovely hotel. Quiet and peaceful which is hard to come by in this city! Surrounding area is very nice - feels safe, beautiful nearby park, walkable to vibrant Brooklyn retail areas.

20-30 minute walk to nearest subway station going to manhattan. 10 minutes walk to groceries. Kitchen in penthouse fairly basic with limited equipment such as baking trays. Breakfast was ok for $10 - fruit, yogurt, cereal, choice of 2 or 3 pastries.
