The Edward is a wonderful hotel - I stayed there during a recent business trip and was delighted with every aspect of my stay. The hotel is stylish and beautifully designed; the rooms are well-appointed and very comfortable; the location is ideal; and the atmosphere of the hotel is peaceful and cozy. The hotel has a self check-in system that is secure, safe, and easy to navigate. And, the owner - Erin - was so helpful and accommodating during my stay. I recommend The Edward unreservedly - it is a lovely place to stay!

Bed was comfortable; room big enough, with nice closet space and a luggage stand. The bathroom is very large and had an excellent fan / heater that really helped the overall heat in the space.

I didn't meet any staff at all on the property, though I had some interaction via text that was good. The room was VERY cold; I had to put the heat up very high, and use the bathroom heater, in order to get the temperature to a bearable level. The shades are not blackout; they were open when I arrived and I was located on the first floor, street side so it didn't feel especially private. All in all, it was a fine stay, but next time, I would expressly choose a room on the upper floors for warmth and privacy.

We really enjoyed staying at this place 😊 The self check in was easy and very convenient especially taking into account we arrived very late. We stayed in Champagne room and it was like staying in a castle, the bed is so soft (I was afraid how I am gonna sleep there since I am used to hard surface beds) but this was my best sleep over a long time, this beds just hugs you 😀 The common room, the option to make a Starbucks coffee and a popcorn - we loved it! The house ia located on a residential street , so it was very silent during night. The hotel has dedicated parking but with limited spaces, however we did not have any issues to parl near the house on the street. I highly recommend this hotel, wonderful place!

Located in a great central spot in Elmwood Village, this hotel is eclectic and unusual. Thankfully not your typical chain hotel experience. The decor is eclectic - a bit Art Deco, and other era styles, which fits the general vibe of the surrounding Buffalo area. You might say that it’s kind of a hybrid between a vacation rental and a small hotel. Like today’s vacation rentals, you let yourself in with coded doorways; the room itself is large and very roomy; etc.; there's a TV with modern streaming options. Though unlike vacation rentals, it has some quiet common areas where you can relax by a fire, and/or make yourself hot tea, or read a book; plus there’s not a kitchen (at least not in the Green Suite where we stayed). The Edward has a very responsive staff through text or phone communication (though there was no one attending a reception desk and we mostly never saw any staff in person). We had some minor maintenance issues, which they were handled immediately. We definitely stay here again!

There are some features in real need of upgrading -- the carpet seems ancient; the "armoire" is very small; the outlets could include USB plugs (to bring it up to date). Only a pod-coffee maker for making hot water (for tea drinkers).

I loved everything about this place. It is so uniquely beautiful. The bed and pillows were so comfy. The host was very kind and responsive, welcoming us, asking us if we needed any fresh towels in the morning, and thanked us at the end of our stay. (All through text ) This establishment is also very clean. I love the self check in process. And the host seems to always be available if any needs or questions arise. The value was great. It is no more expensive then any humdrum hotel. This is a MUST stay the next time your in Buffalo.

If your in one of the bottom floor rooms, you can hear what is happening above you. Like foot steps, or chairs moving. But honestly, it's an old building and that is really part of it's essence. It sure didn't change my mind of how awesome this place is to stay.

very funky and fun place. All communication is done via text. Check in with code for front door and room. NO staff present. Room lovely and warm and comfortable. Bath is great. They could use a few more extras. Better bedside lighting and a few more things like lotion in the bathroom. There is no elevator so getting even small luggage up to the 2nd floor was a so so. We are seniors but in good shape but next time we will ask for 1st. Free parking is a plus as well. This is a wonderful hotel and the text person or AI is super responsive.

told you all that above. Very good housekeeper! They ask every day via text when you would like the service.

Our communication with Erin was excellent — even though it was all virtual, her instructions were clear, and she responded quickly to any questions. The room was comfortable, clean, and exactly as described. We would definitely recommend staying here and would happily return if needed.

The shower water pressure wasn’t very strong, there were some stains on the carpet, and the corridor light at night made the room a bit less dark than we’d prefer. However, these were minor things and didn’t affect our overall stay.

We really enjoyed the self check in, it’s nice not having to go to reception but just being able to key into the building and room with a code. We’ve never seen that before but it was probably our favorite feature. The atmosphere was very cozy and quiet, hardly saw anyone and never heard others in the building

The parking was a little tough as there aren’t very many spaces but we didn’t have too much trouble finding a spot. It would be nice to have a few more snack options for late night or breakfast but we were still happy with the station down stairs

We truly enjoyed our stay for three nights in total. Considering the price, this hotel was well beyond what we could have asked for. In the shared area, we could get hot and cold water, tea, little snacks… Although this hotel adopts self check-in, if we ask beforehand, they will store our luggage before/after check-in. Very easy to communicate with the host. Many restaurants and a good grocery store are within a walkable distance. If I visit Buffalo again, I would definitely choose this hotel. Highly recommended!
